The road going there was very very rough on my vehicle and difficult to get there which is the only bad part. The views of the beach are excellent as Tolowa State Park at sunset. I was there in July 2017. The time when did I travel did NOT give me the option to mark it the year

I first became aware of Gold Bluff Beach camping when my father, RV Sims, was Chief Ranger at Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. I have visited many times, and taken friends. This time, we arrived at the bottom of the access road (in wonderful condition) and encountered the stop

My husband and I have always enjoyed this peaceful paradise! Most people that go to Gold Bluffs are quiet and go there to connect with the beauty of this place. Unfortunately September 13-16th at campground 13 there were people named Lee who decided to play drinking games all

This is a terrific campground. I can't imagine being able to camp here without a reservation because there are so few sites. You are just behind low dunes and can see the surf from your campsite. The park offers sturdy tables, campfire rings, firewood for sale, potable water,

I second that response. All of the campground sites are well worth the trip. Just keep in mind the ones closest to the ocean are windiest being a little more exposed and those furthest from the ocean are a bit more sheltered. I recommend you jump on any that are available, you won't be disappointed.

I can't say for sure. I saw no signs posted to that effect, and the campground ranger had a massive RV parked there. On the other hand, all of the parking spots for campers are separate from the actual camping areas.

"ha! get a sight close to the beach"
"Tips. For quiet hours after 11PM. And food left out. Too loud includes quiet guitar playing and quiet singing, and you are not allowed any food left out not being prepared in the moment, Careful, because the Rangers can shut you down if you don't comply. Also, they ticket if you park in the wrong place. *Tips. For Fern Canyon, take a SUV/pick up truck to drive to the canyon's entrance. If you have a smaller car, you should walk from camp. There are streams and dips in the road that only a bigger car (not low to the ground and good shocks) can handle. Also, drive slowly up the mountain to camp. There are many potholes. *The temperature is 10--20 degrees less that the online weather report. Account for rolling fog and moisture, and somewhat chilly winds. I think July/August might be the best time to go..."
