first of all I want to say the male manager(forgot his name-I think he is Australian is amazing , kind, funny and great!!! the late night young girl staff (not so much! here is the issue-- The rooms are expensive!!! And they are horrible! I cant even tell you how gross the bed was I stayed in-the pull out couch was so disgusting that my grown child had to sleep in the soggy bed with me! I was not comfortable being in a room that looked onto the parking lot and tried to change rooms - the girl told me " well our parking lot is private! Umm private form whom? robbers? There is no security at night - not gated parking--it is not private! anyone can walk in and break into your room. and I didnt sleep a wink as we were on the first floor looking into a pitch black parking lot. Donnor over all was a bust. Nothing to do at night--one over priced restaurant and a beach you have to pay for. lame. Also NOTE. you can go to any of the docks to lay out and jump in the lake--they are community so you dont have to pay to go to the lame beach (if you have little kids the beach is great--but not for drinking adults and fun big groups- do not pay for the beach). also renting a boat will cost you 900.00 and you have to drive in a small circle clock wise?? We saw the same people go round and round--lame. go to tahoe and have the entire lake to be free lets get back to the hotel--so gross--I begged to leaved after one night and thankfully got out fo my two night contract. The picture on the web site does not show the hotel --it shows private owner properties which look great --The surroundings are dark and their is nothing to do--even if you go into truckee everything closes at 9--so drink and party all day with your own booze and pass out before 9pm. Then you might have a good time! And dont stay here- or anywhere in Donnor- the prices are so high because there are only 3 hotels to rent from! Its a ghost town! visit for a day and hang on the docks--and thats that!

Excellent customer service, great set up. Everything was clean. Parking was easy. Gym could use an update but that’s not the reason we came! Would love to come back for skiing during the season- the condo we stayed in was all ready with boot hangers.

We opted for the 1-bedroom at the Lodge and it was great. The layout was roomy, had everything we needed, the kitchen was well stocked, and we were at the end of the building with such an easy way to take our bikes out. The front desk staff were welcoming and friendly. Plus they were there 24 hrs which was comforting.

We loved our stay at the squaw valley lodge! Our room was cozy and comfortable, and the pool was awesome. The staff was so helpful and kind- they jumped our car for us, and then found and returned an envelope of cash I left in the room when I checked out. We will be back!!

Very nice place to get away from the typical Tahoe tourist craziness. Beautiful Squaw Valley location and nice pool/hot tub area. Staff was good and polite. Room was nice but be careful to pick one with AC if it’s warm/hot during your trip.

I have been staying at SVL for 4 summers now. Depending on how many of us, the rooms have been sufficient for our needs. When it is just me and my son, we have gotten the apartment with a loft. It may get a bit warm and there’s no A/C, however, the fans that they provide do help a bit. This time around, we got the 2-bedroom apartment and since the temperature wasn’t in the 90’s like we had expected, the apartment didn’t get too, too hot. Fans and open windows made it more tolerable. The kitchen was well-equipped and I was able to make some meals for our group of 4. The apartment was spacious and we were very comfortable and were not in each other’s way. This is definitely my home away from home. I can spend a whole week (and I have) and need not do anything else or get in the car to drive somewhere else. I am content just lounging around the pool, going hiking at the nearby trails and wandering/eating/shopping at The Village.

We stayed here at the end of June as part of the Western States Endurance Race 100 miler that my husband participated in and it was the PERFECT accomodation for us. The property is newly renovated and the lobby is just stunning. We have two young children and stayed in a two bedroom master suite with full kitchen and it was generously furnished with almost everything we needed to avoid dining out (which can be very expensive for a family of four in OV). The location of the lodge is just below the stunning mountain landscape and the weather was absolutely perfect. You could walk to everything in the cute little European-esque village and if you feel like shopping, dining out or just enjoying the beautiful views it was all within 5 minutes. We stayed two nights and it was very quiet but we had access to an outdoor pool and hot tub which the kids really enjoyed. The staff in the lobby were very courteous and helpful and check in and out was very easy. The beds were very comfortable. My only criticism (and its small) was that the light switches were all very low on the wall and some of the bathroom lights were a bit dim but after a few minutes of being on would brighten (they may be in the process of still updating the buildings). Overall we really enjoyed our short stay at OVL and would easily come back for a family skiing vacation in the winter time.

Highly recommended! Great location, comfortable and spacious room with full kitchen and full size fridge. I love the convenience and approximate to a host of activities: rock climbing on Palisade Tahoe’s Via Ferrata, tree line adventure right in the Olympic Valley, Shirley Canyon Trail head only five minute’s walk away from the property. You may also start your bicycle ride from the lodge and out to hit the Truckee River Trail, which meanders six miles along the Truckee River all the way to Tahoe City. With so much to do and enjoy, you still entertain the secluded and quietness in the Valley. This contrasts sharply to the bustle of South Lake Tahoe. We totally enjoyed the stay this year and in the past several summers. Great family vacation residence!

There was no housekeeping service. Depressing to come back to an unmade bed, dirty towels, etc. And, when we called Housekeeping to get some help, no one answered the phone. A basic hotel service was absent.

The Squaw Valley Lodge has always ensured a memorable stay over the years as the location is unsurpassed and features beautiful views of the ski resort and mountains, now officially Palisades Tahoe. The construction project is limited to work week 8-5 - so overall distractions, detours and construction noise are not too intrusive. The kitchenette is well supplied for cooking and re-heating food for families on the go.
