Really enjoyed our short stay here in mid August. There are excellent trails heading from the resort. Facilities are very good and staff friendly and helpful. There are a few good outlets around although the place was very quiet given its main purpose as a ski resort. Blues night was great fun and obviously attracts a lot of local characters

This was perfect. I went just after most of the snow was gone and during the celebrity golf tournament so there was a good crowd. The hotel was great, very cozy and the staff was accommodating! the free parking was a nice touch too. Peace of mind while traveling was enjoyed. Full kitchen, cute lighting, room warming fireplace, clean bathroom and affordable …10/10

I booked this place primarily for the location to get ski in/out access at Palisades. The Palisades Tahoe Lodge is certainly good for that. The front desk people were courteous, nice, and helpful. They were happy to answer any questions that I had. The parking structure is connected to the lodge and made it easy to bring my stuff to and from the condo. The resort fees were worth it just for that. The 1 bedroom condo was very clean. It has sufficient space for 4 people. I would say it’s good for a couple or a couple + 2 kids. The kitchen is well supplied with a kitchen towel, paper towels, sponge, dish and dishwasher soap, plates, cups, mugs, bowls, coffee maker with filters (Mr. coffee) with a couple packs of coffee grounds, cooking and eating utensils, pots and pans. I only used the stove to cook breakfast and used the microwave to heat up prepped meals. It was real nice to be able to ski to the condo to eat lunch and rest up before heading out for afternoon skiing. The Queen sized bed was comfortable. The sheets and pillows were comfortable and soft, not itchy at all. The overall layout of the condo works well. The bathroom has two doors that allow access to the bedroom and to the main area. There was enough room in the foyer area to lay down my wet skis boots, and poles onto a towel on the floor. I brought my own towel for my skis. I had a good experience at Palisades Tahoe Lodge. I completed two excellent days of skiing. While the room cost is on the higher side, it justified the value added for the convenience of staying at the resort. I give the lodge a rating of 4 circles. The room does need some cosmetic modernization with the cabinets, doors, moldings, and couch. Otherwise, I would have easily given it 5 circles.

My friends have been recommending that we stay here for the convenience of being right on the mountain for ski trips, and having a kitchen so that we could make meals if places are closed or to save some money. On those fronts it works, and the studio lofts are decent and offer some privacy, with a functional kitchen and 2 beds and a decent sofa bed. The main lobby is the one place that feels somewhat elegant, with a nice fireplace, but the entire place has an antiseptic, soulless quality, which also applies to the staff, that it feels transactional far more than special. My biggest objection is with their cancellation policy, which is absolutely unyielding. On our first time trying to go, Highway 80 was closed on the days that we had the reservation, and we had to cancel since there was no reasonable way to get there. Even under these dramatic circumstances (no skiing or travel possible), we still had to pay for the trip, which felt wrong and left a sour taste in our mouths. Then on the next trip we went up ahead of a storm, paying for nights while we were snowed in and most of the restaurants in the village were closed, but we got some great skiing in. My biggest objection on that trip was that we'd requested early check in as we had to get in by ~10:30 am to beat the blizzard, and they made no accommodations for anyone (even after the cleaning crew had left), not letting us or any other people waiting into our rooms until 4. On our planned trip this week, my friend had accidentally booked a 2-night stay for Mon-Tue for spring skiing, where the place is likely pretty lightly booked. We realized our error on Sunday and asked them if we could change it to Tue-Wed, as Monday wasn't possible for 2 of us, and we were all riding up together, with me not having a car available to get there without going with my friends (family emergency where my wife had taken the car that can go Tahoe). They said we could add Wednesday night, but they said the policy is absolutely strict and that we could not cancel Monday to shift the dates by 1 day. This destroyed what was supposed to be a great spring skiing trip with my favorite ski friends, as I had to drop out and they had to pay for a 3-bedroom place for 2 of them because we just didn't want to reward the place for their corporate greed and lack of empathy for a simple change request. People complain about the corporatization of skiing, and Palisades Tahoe Lodge is the essence of this. Just offering a little flexibility when circumstances really warrant it rather than clinging to any profits they can make on rooms that people can't use would make a huge difference, but they're at the mercy of corporate policies that put profit miles ahead of hospitality. I'll never step foot in the place again, even with their convenience and limited amenities like a ping pong table room and indoor/outdoor hot tub options.

My experience with this place is that you can expect noise problems about half the time, inadequate or broken kitchen appliances about 1/3 of the time, and failure to honor room requests most of the time. It's at the low end of ski-in ski-out at Palisades, though, so my experience is also that no amount of complaining will help. But as long as you accept that and lower your expectations, you probably won't be disappointed.

OK quality, close to lifts, small issues were annoying. No conditioners for shower, microwave is located far from socket, one has to ask for soup, shampoo etc. at the reception. No options to dry ski boots.

Awesome trip. Second stay at the lodge. Outdoor hot tubs were great surrounded by deep snow. Fixed dinner in our kitchens each night, very relaxing. We especially love the super easy ski in ski out. No time wasted.

If winter, you won’t find a better location in the Olympic Valley. Just steps away from the lifts, you’ll be able to use your unit as a base. The property is not too big, not too small and recently updated throughout all the common areas. All the restaurants and shops are easily accessible as well. I loved the steam room, even more than the outdoor hot tub. There are also indoor hot tubs. All in all the overall scale and vibe of Palisades is really nice.

My son and I booked a (very expensive due to holiday timing) stay at the hotel. Weather rolled in and closed the pass, making it impossible to get to the hotel. The hotel refused to refund a penny of the stay. Obviously the hotel cannot control the pass - and since this is NOT a hotel, you are renting someone's apartment for the stay, the owner of the unit expects to be paid for the stay once it's booked. So - again obviously - the owner should get their cut. Beyond that, the hotel keeping their profit, and keeping the money associated with things they DID NOT PROVIDE - such as housekeeping, and the "resort fee", is greed at its worst. How can you justify pocketing a customer's resort fee when they utilized none of the related amenities? How can you justify needing to "cover the housekeeping costs" (per the front desk), when we never set foot in the room? Classic case of "policies" meaning more than doing the right thing, and/or common sense. The front desk person told me "You should have bought travel insurance". I have never encountered a hotel that refuses to use common sense in their dealings with customers, so I guess she is right - or I can just stay at more ethically-managed hotels in the future, where greed comes second.
