This unique inn is the exception when it comes to hospitality. We really enjoyed our stay.while attending a family wedding. The suite was spacious and we had plenty of seating. Our bed was very comfortable and we slept well in a quiet room. It is conveniently located next to Olympic Village with shops and additional dining. No car needed as Olympic Village is just across the street. The outdoor wedding couldn't have been more beautiful, and the banquet hall and conferance center were sophisticated with a rustic vibe. Loved it!

This is my 3rd visit to the hotel its mid December. There’s 5 feet of snow and the restaurant isn’t open and there’s no hot water. In fact my last trip here the “hot water was on the fritz” so i think this is an issue. The staff are lovely the facilities great. It’s close to the lifts. But this hot water & food issue is kind of a problem. Not having a hot shower sucks.

Good day rxdxt, Thank you for your recent repeat stay and taking the time to write a review. We apologize for the issues you had during your stay. Our cafe is scheduled to be open Thursday-Mondays during the winter season, we may be closed on select dates for special events. For future reference our hours can be found on https://www.plumpjackcafe.com/operational-calendar. We have recently replaced our two water heaters; we have had some small issues with them since replacing them and feel that the issues are now resolved. Please reach out to us prior to your next visit so we can ensure a great stay. Thank you

We came to Plumpjack Squaw Valley on July 26, 2021. We are sailing when an electrical storm forced us back to Whale Beach in Nevada. We came across the lake with 6 foot+ waves. We arrived at Plumpjack to no valet, no front desk person and pouring rain. I rang the bell several times and finally someone came. I told her why we arrived at 10:30pm. She offered no valet nor any other assistance. She asked for my credit card so she could charge a $60 resort fee! Obviously all we could do is take a hot shower if they had hot water. We found none. We hobbled in the cold and rain to the very dirty hot tub with no jets and only slime. We went to our room which was like Alice in Wonderland meets mud pie. It was worse that a Motel 6 with cheap furnishings, no bedding, no AC and a cheap plastic fan, cheap coffee machine that didn’t work. The room had ugly cheap furniture from bygone era motel clearance and the sound of pounding footsteps overhead completed the disgusting scene! We wanted to pack up and leave the moment we arrived. We had 3 towels for 3 of us. The decibel level noise overhead was well over 50db. We awesome at 7am to kids running and screaming overhead and people walking like loud elephants!!! This is NOT a luxury resort by ANY stretch of the imagination!!! We want our money back and would have been better off in Tahoe City at a chain hotel dump! What a horrific birthday experience for my husband!!!!

I was torn when reviewing the PlumpJack Inn. I think to make a fair review, you'd have to stay there in the Winter as well since this is probably a perfect location and setup for a skiing vacation. My family of 4 stayed at the PlumpJack in the summer so take my feedback in that light. Things are now fully opened up after COVID, so no masks were required for fully vaxxed people and most people were not wearing masks (so nice, finally). PlumpJack is right at the base of Squaw Valley mountain, with the Squaw Valley Village literally across the street. So there were several restaurants within walking distance. We were there for 9 nights and ate at Fireside Pizza, The Dubliner and Tremigos. Tahoe City was a 15 min drive and we also went there for lunches/dinners. The hotel was definitely more expensive than we were hoping to pay for our summer trip but way less than a VRBO for 9 nights. The room was a bit small for 4 of us and there's no AC (most places don't have AC in Tahoe). So we had to blast the ceiling fan and window fan most of the time (it was quite hot when we were there). The pool is only 3.5 ft deep and was really cold, so it's only good for little kids or for wading around for adults. There are 2 hot tubs, but only 1 had working jets (and they were a bit temperamental). They had cornhole and pingpong for games by the pool. And if you check at the front desk, you can get some bocce balls to use on their bocce court which is across their parking lot. The major negative with the place in the summer is that they have outdoor events/weddings a lot on Fri/Sat/Sun. That means lots of noise until 11pm. One night, some rowdy people were out late after dinner in the patio/pool area, but management shooed them away after we called. Our room was directly facing their dinner patio, so definitely ask for a room that DOES NOT face the pool. The noise didn't allow for any relaxing in the room. Which was mostly fine since we were out on the lake hiking/paddleboarding a lot, but if you want a tranquil summer location, this may not be it. We never tried their bar or cafe, but things did look good. WiFi was particularly bad - probably because many people, like me, were also trying to get a bit of work done. Video meetings were really sluggish. But I kinda expected this would be the case. That said, the people were really nice. Ricky at the front desk set us up one day to use their free cruiser bikes. Tommy T (the maintenance guy) was super friendly. If it weren't for the noise, I would've bumped my review up to 4 stars.

Service with smile from the Manager to the front desk to the guy who fixes the hot tub. A friendly attitude goes a long way and covers any minor deficiencies. And the location was perfect for skiing and apres ski right in the village

Super close to the lifts so ski in and ski out. Staff is very friendly, good pizza, wine list and cocktails. Dog friendly. Real coffee cups in the room and eco friendly with no little shampoo bottles.

I was absolutely blown away and very pleased by our time spent at PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn! My husband and I spent one week at PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn to celebrate our honeymoon. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a quiet, romantic, and charming place to stay! All of their employees work very hard to make sure you have everything you need every single day! Bill (an employee at PlumpJack) went the extra mile to make our honeymoon stay feel very special. Upon our arrival into our room, there were beautiful rose petals placed on our bed with a bottle of wine with 2 wine glasses! Bill even provided my husband with dumbbell weights to take to our room since their gym was closed due to COVID-19. It was a very nice surprise that made our stay feel very special! We also enjoyed waking up every morning and getting a free cup of coffee at the front desk from Rickey and Taryn. Taryn, Bill and Rickey all took time to share with us their favorite places and activities in Lake Tahoe. The location was perfect and we felt like we were right in the middle of everything we wanted to do! About a 30 min drive to north Lake Tahoe, 1 hr drive to South Lake Tahoe, and 30 min drive to Truckee. The scenery around the Inn was absolutely stunning and there are tons of restaurants and shops nearby the PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn. PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn is very clean!! We stayed in the Poulsen suite with AC! We happened to be visiting during a heat wave in California so I do recommend staying in the suite with air conditioning if this heat wave happens during your stay! Thank you again to all of the staff at PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn, but especially to Bill because he was the first person I talked to on the phone when trying to decide where to stay during our visit! He was so polite, kind and genuinely a great guy. Meeting him in person was the best! You truly do get everything the staff tells you over the phone and more!! Thank you for making our honeymoon the best trip yet!

Our family of 3 stayed here 2 nights with our dog. All staff wore masks and were very friendly and helpful. When we needed amenities, they quickly brought them to our room. Also gave our dog a nice treat. There’s free coffee in the mornings too. Location is right at Squaw Valley, so you are right across from restaurants.

We had a nice, two-night stay over our anniversary weekend. The staff was very attentive and kind, and even surprised us with a bottle of wine for our anniversary. Maybe it was to make up for the lack of the breakfast that should have been included (it was cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns and restrictions). The room was a mix of comfort and missing amenities. Very comfortable bed and nice decor, but no charging port on one side of the bed. There was a refrigerator, but no microwave. The walls were thin, so the outdoor cafe outside the window could be heard through the wall. Other guests' music was clearly heard, as well as their laughing and screaming children at 10pm and 10:30pm both nights of our stay. (The hotel staff were very kind when I called the second night inquiring whether there were quiet hours after 10pm and told me they would communicate that to the other guests.) Overall, it was a nice stay and the location is hard to beat.

We love to stay at Plumpjack to ski in and out of squaw valley ski area. The staff is amazing and we can store luggage while we are out skiing for the day etc. My son came home from college and wanted to get a day of skiing in so we were able to book a night and go last minute :) Thanks again for the amazing hospitality.
