We only spent one night in the Sunflower cottage but really enjoyed our stay. It’s the thoughtful touches that make this place special: fresh flowers on the kitchen table, Peet’s coffee, a clothes hook next to the bed for your robe, an ottoman in the bedroom for your suitcase, a top sheet if wanted in addition to the European duvet. Everything is very well thought out to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. The king size bed was super comfortable with lovely linens. Loved the cheerful original art throughout. The cottage is flooded with light from all sides with views of the horses grazing, beautiful trees and hills, and a lovely private courtyard. A quiet location yet central to all the sights. Thank you Kelly for a lovely stay. We will be back.
Wonderful! clean, well appointed; awesome location for hikes and visits to nearby small towns; effortless check in; clear instructions; comfy bed. What's not to like? fun sculpture garden. peaceful, romantic, convenient, private. Our only regret is that we were there just after the big 'atmospheric river" (fancy phrase for huge rain and windstorm) and we accidentally brought some dirt and mud into our room and couldn't find a broom to adequately clean it up.
I checked into the Cottages at Olema today. The place is great and every detail inside is perfect. What wasn’t perfect was how I was treated and how I was made to feel. I got here at 3 p.m. and asked if I could have an early check-in due to medical circumstances. I got an immediate pushback saying NO. I asked if I could sit in the car for an hour until the room was ready. There was no compassion or kindness. Kelly went to the room, came out and said you can have the room. We were just going to work on a project for an hour. When I asked her what, she said you don’t want to know and drove off. Ok, I was happy to be here early. I got a text telling me about some ants. I responded thanking her for an early check-in again. Got crickets from her.
Spent three days here, in The Nest. Cozy, very comfortable. Not super fancy, just what I was looking for. The grounds are good for a stroll, lots of sculptures from different artists. Hung out on my deck with one of the local cats, perfect spot for a glass of wine and decompressing.
The rooms and cottages are clean, comfortable, and cozy. They are stocked with the amenities you need to explore the area and the location is excellent. We try and go every year to walk the trails at Point Reyes National Seashore and the rooms or cottages are perfect for us. We’ve been several times just as a couple and once with some other members of our family staying in an adjacent cottage. We miss the chickens in the yard.
We stayed in The Nest for 2 nights. We loved the window seat, the pasture views, sitting on the porch watching and listening to birds and deer, and all the art and thoughtful touches in the room, like plenty of outlets and bedside trays for water glasses or jewelry. The kitchenette is perfect for simple meals- you can get yogurt, fruit, and pastries in Point Reyes Station, a 5-minute drive away. Bonus was visits from a friendly cat (outdoors only!).
My daughter and I stayed 2 nights in The Nest cottage and loved it. It's very clean, cute, and has so many thoughtful amenities. The queen bed was very comfortable and my daughter said the twin floor mattress (I requested ahead of time since we sleep better in separate beds) was comfortable, too. Kelly was very quick to respond to my emails and I appreciated her allowing us to arrive late in the night. We enjoyed looking at the art pieces around the grounds, too. It's in a very quiet area and so close to the Bear Valley Visitor Center. We highly recommend this wonderful place!
We stayed two nights. The cabin was very nice and very clean. The porch was an added bonus. The location was great as we could walk to restaurants and it was easy to get to several places on Point Reyes.
We stayed at the Sunflower Cottage. Everything we needed was there and it was comfy. Location to get to the Point Reyes Visitor Center was a a big plus. The owner is an art lover and has some very interesting pieces on the property as well as in the cottage. The only thing that could have been better was the lighting. More was needed in the kitchen and dining area. Otherwise, comfortable bed, kitchen table and chairs. Enjoyed using the stereo system. Our view of the horse coral was another plus.
Loved our cottage at Olema--with the horses out back, a screen porch for dining, and most all one would need for a several day stay.Lisa was a terrific host and friend and made our visit even lovelier.Could walk to a couple of restaurants with very good food and it was short ride to the Visitors Station at Point Reyes. You feel hours away from the big city-even though its not that far from SF.
