We actually last went in late December 2020, but we've visited every year or two for the last 25 years. Why? The beautiful accommodations and area are very quiet and Kelly, the owner, could not be nicer.

We've stayed at each of the 3 cottages and 2 parts of the farmhouse over the years, and each is very comfortable and has a different vibe. The suites in the farmhouse take the first floors of the farmhouse and you never hear your neighbors. The 3 cottages all have full (though small) stocked kitchens. We have never slept better. The drive itself is breathtaking. It's not far from the wine country, the lighthouse and the many hiking trails from Point Reyes

This is not a hotel or B & B. You're on your own - go to the grocery store or bakery in town for supplies. There are no TVs. Bring DVDs or stream your own entertainment or read a book. Please honor the no early check in policy. Kelly cleans and supplies all of the cottages herself. She and her spouse do all of the upkeep. Kelly is always available by phone or text.

This is our favorite place to go to on a road trip and to relax. Highly recommended.

This place is simply perfect. The cottages are creative, fun, detailed, refreshing, comfortable (the bed was amazing in Farmers Parlor, not to mention a great shower). You can sit on the front porch or back porch and read, nap, work, chat. Such a lovely place with the colors, the fresh flowers, the dishes, the art, and someone's very tasteful eye for all things cottage make this so fun. The surrounding area is beautiful and peaceful with short drives to many beaches, overlooks, activities (horseback riding, kayaking, hiking, biking, eating, napping, animal observing, etc.). We absolutely loved it and had a restful and comfortable 3 nights. Our only bit of advice is to make sure you don't wait too late in the evening to get dinner or groceries or you'll be out of luck!

We only spent one night in the Sunflower cottage but really enjoyed our stay. It’s the thoughtful touches that make this place special: fresh flowers on the kitchen table, Peet’s coffee, a clothes hook next to the bed for your robe, an ottoman in the bedroom for your suitcase, a top sheet if wanted in addition to the European duvet. Everything is very well thought out to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable.
The king size bed was super comfortable with lovely linens. Loved the cheerful original art throughout. The cottage is flooded with light from all sides with views of the horses grazing, beautiful trees and hills, and a lovely private courtyard. A quiet location yet central to all the sights.
Thank you Kelly for a lovely stay. We will be back.

Wonderful! clean, well appointed; awesome location for hikes and visits to nearby small towns; effortless check in; clear instructions; comfy bed. What's not to like?

fun sculpture garden. peaceful, romantic, convenient, private.

Our only regret is that we were there just after the big 'atmospheric river" (fancy phrase for huge rain and windstorm) and we accidentally brought some dirt and mud into our room and couldn't find a broom to adequately clean it up.

Spent three days here, in The Nest. Cozy, very comfortable. Not super fancy, just what I was looking for. The grounds are good for a stroll, lots of sculptures from different artists. Hung out on my deck with one of the local cats, perfect spot for a glass of wine and decompressing.

Our 2nd stay was at the end of September, and we were just as pleased with the accommodations as the first time. Very reasonable rates for everything that is provided . . . from easy, peasy check-in and check-out to an immaculate and inviting home away from home. An amazing gem in one of the most picturesque sections of California. We'll be back again!! ~ Mike N. (Maine)

I checked into the Cottages at Olema today. The place is great and every detail inside is perfect. What wasn’t perfect was how I was treated and how I was made to feel. I got here at 3 p.m. and asked if I could have an early check-in due to medical circumstances. I got an immediate pushback saying NO. I asked if I could sit in the car for an hour until the room was ready. There was no compassion or kindness. Kelly went to the room, came out and said you can have the room. We were just going to work on a project for an hour. When I asked her what, she said you don’t want to know and drove off. Ok, I was happy to be here early. I got a text telling me about some ants. I responded thanking her for an early check-in again. Got crickets from her.

I stayed at Olema Cottages for 2 nights on a road trip through the coast late May. I stayed in the Farmor's Parlor. Super large room, perfectly appointed and comfortable bed, looking out onto the horse paddock, with a sun room and table also. Very peaceful place, all the suites are self-contained and private, and you will feel like you are staying in your own country cottage.

Olema itself is a small community a few miles out of Point Reyes Station with a couple of nice restaurants/pubs within easy walking distance of Olema Cottages. Just a word of warning that things tend to shut down around 9pm on the coast so if you need dinner be sure to watch the time. Definitely recommend Olema as a base to explore Point Reyes and the surroundings.

Looking forward to visiting the area again and would definitely want to stay here when I do!

My husband and I stayed in Berry Vine Cottage for 6 nights and could easily have stayed a month! The cottage was clean, comfortable, and carefully arranged to feel spacious and inviting. The large screened porch was my favorite "amenity" - I spent more time there than inside! The property is lovely, the location perfect, and the weather - at least for our stay - spectacular.

As the owner points out on the website, this is a "hands-off" kind of place, so don't expect daily cleaning and linen service. Do expect a fully functional kitchen stocked with coffee and tea; plenty of towels, sheets, and extra blankets; an eclectic selection of books, videos, CDs, and games; wireless internet (not always fast, but good enough to handle e-mail and light web work); ice for drinks and coolers; beach chairs, blankets, and towels; and the world's friendliest chickens! A coin laundromat is right up the street and a deli and two restaurants are within spitting distance. Simply put, had we brought nothing but our clothes and money for groceries, we would have had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation.

As mentioned above, the location is outstanding. Less than 1/2 mile from the entrance to Point Reyes National Park, it offers easy access to all the park has to offer the outdoor enthusiast. The Napa valley is an hour or so away, as is San Francisco, for those more interested in food, wine, and city pleasures. Local stables offer a variety of riding experiences and both kayaks and bicycles can be rented in nearby Point Reyes Station.

Kelly, the owner, was quick to respond to all e-mail inquiries and was very helpful with our request for a last-minute additional guest. So, to the extent that we required service, we got it quickly, efficiently, and cheerfully.

Best vacation spot ever - we can't wait to return!

I discovered this cottage after many hours surfing the net. It was a great experience. We stayed there five days and loved it. The cottage was very homey- nothing fancy, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the wood burning stove was great fun. I was a little worried about the stove the first night because we have two little ones. However, it wasn't a problem keeping them away. And I learned how to start a fire in a snap- with the innkeepers instructions handy. My kids had a blast feeding the chickens every morning. Point Reyes is less than 10 minutes away with restaurants and a grocery store. There is a restaurant next door at the Olema Inn, but we didn't try it because we had kids in tow. We spent a lot of time at the Point Reyes National Seashore and in the surrounding area. Great fun! Search for Olema Cottages on the web and give them a call.
