We keep returning to this great oasis for a reason. Beautifully landscaped property house with many 200 year old oak trees, flowers, rosemary and lavender bushes everywhere. Friendly and attentive staff. We stayed at Shangri-La and our room and view from the balcony was amazing. Dined at Olivella and enjoyed food and drinks at the pool. Will definitely keep coming back
The Ojai Valley Inn is a beautiful 4 star family friendly resort which lacks vital control when it comes caring for their guest. Not sure how this resort operates year round but during the month of June there clearly isn’t enough staff or management to operate this establishment . Upon arrival, I waited at least 1/2 an hour to turn over me car key to valet and have my bags attended to. Secondly, the actual front desk check-in experience is a nightmare. From my experience, and mine only, I waited on a very long line while annoyed and exhausted looking customers found out that their rooms weren’t ready including mine. Afterwards,…want a pedi, or massage after that experience ? Nope, all booked. Got it! “You gotta book in advanced sir” I was told by some kid working the front desk. The following evening I had a reservation to one of their fine dining restaurants. Reservations clearly don’t matter here. A clueless host who recently graduated high school reminds you, 10 more minutes, which turns into 25 minutes. Nice! Mind you, I was paying $1000 a night. Want peace and quite? Nope. Screaming kids throughout the day run wild all over the resort grounds and especially the golf course as careless parents watch and laugh. Where are the staff and management when this happens? Surprisingly, nowhere to be seen nor found. And they call themselves 5 Stars? On what planet? Again, I’m paying $1000 a night for this. Want room slippers upon room arrival? “Sorry sir we ran out”. What a blueberry muffin for breakfast? “Sorry sir we ran out”. What gluten free toast with your eggs? “Sorry sir, we ran out”. For $1000 a night, wtf is going on here? Lack of a better word, the staff and their management clearly stink at their jobs. Basic fundamentals of operating this “5 star resort” is nonexistent. Remind you…I really try to be understanding and I hate to write reviews like this but for $1000 bucks a night, a relaxing and seamless experience was not happening during my stay. The only positive notes I would like to add are the resort grounds are very well manicured and room service is outstanding. Food? Very very average. Nothing special to write about. When it comes to the Ojai Valley Inn, beautiful looks can be deceiving. The resort might operate smoothly during the rest of the year but from what I experienced, please think twice about booking your stay.…
My wife and I are staying at the Ojai Valley Inn for our 25th anniversary and have loved every minute. Our room is gorgeous with a wonderful patio looking out over the mountains. We're having dinner out there tonight. Unfortunately, we have to leave in the morning, but are already looking at our calendars for when we can come back. The true test of any business is how they handle a problem. We had a minor problem when we arrived, but the terrific staff took care of everything and made sure that it didn't impact our stay. That's the sign of a professional and attentive staff. Wherever we go in the resort, the staff has been uniformly superb. The grounds are beautiful and everything in our room is of the highest quality. Needless to say, they've earned a 5-star review and I'd give a 6th star if I could. Thank you to the resort for making our anniversary so memorable and perfect!…
Had a wonderful third stay at OVI. It seems to get better every time we visit. There's nothing more picturesque than the oak tree with lights hanging from the branches and mountains in the background. We always love borrowing their bikes and riding through town. Food is always fabulous - although the room service did take longer than usual this time. I guess that's what happens when a hotel is full because it's so good. Pity for us!! Thank you to the Ojai Valley Inn team for always making our California visits wonderful.
Had a fabulous time with my sisters during our stay here. We really enjoyed the spa, dinner at the Oak, and the gorgeous views everywhere on property. The staff couldn't have been more helpful as well. I have been coming here for years and it never disappoints!
We have one more iight here in Ojai, but we love it so much I felt prompted to write the review now. This is a beautiful place to stay with gorgeous views. We have been to several hotels Thai year and many have suffered from staff shortages, this does not appear to be the case here. Housekeeping has been very attentive and prompt. The restaurants and pool have service that is above and beyond. The apothecary exceeded our expectations with really fun crafts for my daughter and myself. Overall this could not be more relaxing and enjoyable, highly recommended
We visited the hotel for a family event. I would say our family probably occupied 20 rooms at the resort. We checked in at 4:30 and our room was not ready. The next day I was watching my grandson in the room and I moved an ottoman that was in front of the club chair so he would not climb on it and found a very large piece of feces underneath. I was honestly so shocked and grossed out. I called to have this taken care of and asked for the room to be cleaned since it obviously was not before we checked in. My grandson and I left for about 1 hour in hopes that they would clean it but when we came back at 4 they were just arriving. Our event was at 5 so I needed to shower and get ready. The housekeeper told me that it was not dog poop multiple times. I insisted it was and asked her what else it could be and if she thought it was human poop...she said maybe it was. That is how large it was! Needless to say the hotel did nothing but send a housekeeper an hour later that would tell me that it was not poop. So so disappointed that this is the type of uncleanliness and service we receives at a 5 star hotel.…
Had a beautiful stay at the Ojai Valley Inn with friends for a girls weekend! The service was impeccable and the gorgeous property grounds made this one of the best quick getaways of our lives. Everything from the room with perfect mountain views, to the spa and amenities, to the excellent food at every dining establishment in the resort made this the perfect place to unwind and relax. Just perfect. Will be back VERY soon!
Stayed at Ojai Valley Inn for a girls weekend and can't recommend it enough! The entire property is stunning. From the room, to the pool, to the restaurants- this place really checks off all the boxes. There is so much to do on property that you really don't have to leave. Not to mention the robe in the rooms... WOW! Had the best nights sleep that I've had for a while because you will literally melt into the beds they are so comfy! All of the staff were so nice and helpful and really made our stay memorable too. We are already planning our next trip back!
Another incredible trip to Ojai thanks to the friendly staff and beautiful grounds at the Ojai Valley Inn! I was very lucky to spend a couple nights on property and enjoy all of the delicious food and spa amenities. All of the staff go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. The rooms are beautiful and the spa is next level. You never need to leave the grounds but it is very close to town if you want to walk or bike in for lunch. Recommend Ojai Valley Inn to anyone looking for a top tier accommodation. Can't wait to come back soon!
