This hotel property was strange; you get lots of text messages, but they lack customer service. When I went to tell the front desk that the room had ants in both the bathroom and bedroom, their response was "when it gets cold in Ojai they come indoors". For the overpriced rate, I was charged they should be able to address this. Resort fee for no breakfast, 2 generic bottles of water and 2 tiny trail mix packages? Also, the shared bathroom with the bedroom is a very dated concept. Separate the 2 rooms. Bottom line - try another location in town until they get their act together.
Excellent customer support from Jim. The mini fridge didn't seem to get cold. He came by to look and explained that these kinds of fridge do take sometimes to cool (not cold). But he was so kind to bring us an extra fridge. The A/C was above the vanity so air was blowing up to the ceiling and didn't seem to cool down the room that much. (We had a room that got afternoon sun and was there at the hottest part of the month). Jim also volunteered to monitor our room temperature so it doesn't shut down when we leave the room. Without Jim, this lodging would have gotten a much lower rating. Expensive for a basic, motel type lodging. Better conditions for fridge/AC and a little facelift for the dated room would go a long way.
This is a wonderful Inn located in the very quiet edge of the main drag through this quaint town within walking distance to a few restaurants & shops. My first impression was it's very safe there. I never once felt that anywhere in Ojai was unsafe, especially at the inn. I routinely went out to the pool alone late at night, so it meant a great deal to feel that safe! The room was nice, very clean, & had great comfy furniture. Parking was right at the front door so that was awesome. We're a very picky group to impress, but this was a very nice stay for us. The customer service must be mentioned. Every contact with staff members throughout the week was a great experience. They were a wealth of knowledge to us Ohioans visiting Ojai for the first time. And they took care of our every need. I'd certainly go again to stay there as it was just an all around great time for us. Highly recommend the Casa Ojai Inn!…
To be honest, our two queen bed room was clean, quiet, and had a decent number of amenities (refrigerator, iron, coffee machine, TV, desk), but that was about it. The room charge included a breakfast, which was not available due to Covid. I was directed instead to the nearby restaurants, which were fully open without any restrictions. One wonders why Covid affects this hotel but nothing else in the entire town of Ojai. To me this sounded like a cheap excuse to get away with as little service as possible, which still charging full price. My room description included a balcony, which was non existent, unless you count the 2nd floor walkway to the room entries as a balcony. Our digital lock for the room was apparently broken, since it required new room keys twice, and then still worked only sporadically. An additional blanket was promised by the lady at the front desk, but never arrived. I have seen other hotels accommodate my wish for a regular 115V outlet to plug in my hybrid, which was not possible at the Casa Ojai Inn. Instead I was informed that "the town has charging stations". Yes, there is one 0.6 miles away, which was permanently occupied. Ideally, you could walk from the charging station to the hotel in 20 minutes, if you were lucky enough to find the station available. For the price of close to $600 for two nights I would expect some service from the hotel other than the "sorry, not here" response. All in all, if you just need a place to spend the night, OK, but plan to find a nice place to sit after returning from a hike or sightseeing somewhere else.…
The room was dark and a bit creepy and had seen better days. The TV did not work. The beds were a joke: the classic firm on the edge, but rolling into a gully in the middle; and they creaked. The two stars are for: (1) they are pet friendly and the lovely young woman at the front desk tried hard to fix my TV but to no avail. (2) They did give me a small reduction in charges because the TV didn't work (after I requested it).
Loved staying here. Great value. Great location. Doggie friendly. 10 minute drive to the Pratt trail head for amazing hiking. Doggie friendly hiking. Great location for walking the local residential neighborhood admiring the beautiful homes. 10 minute drive to Meditation Mount for a beautiful sound bath. 5 minute drive to great healthy market w everything you need. 1 mile walk or drive (I drove) for downtown coffee shops, cafes & galleries. Excellent safe location - great price. Will definitely come back. Solo weekend away for grounding.Front staff super nice. Room clean & comfy. Great little patio for reading sunning.
We stayed here for 11 nights. Casa Ojai was very welcoming and attentive to any of our needs. The location is just about 1/2 mile from the center of town, there are bikes available for guests, and a pool and hot tub. Breakfast was not available during the pandemic, but there are plenty of places in town to walk to. The hotel property was very quiet even though we were there over Thanksgiving weekend. Highly recommend.
We stayed in Ojai for a mid-week getaway. Hotel room was nicely furnished with comfortable beds and spacious room. Refrigerator in cabinet. Amenity fee was $10 daily which is high considering that there is no housekeeping, trash or tower exchange. You would need to exchange your towels yourself. Towels were worn so require several towels to absorb water. Amenity fee should be waived, as it was for 2 bottle waters, 2 trail mix and parking during COVID since no breakfast was available. We selected the patio with 2 queens for $25 more per day, which faced the parking lot. In retrospect, the patio on the first floor did not do much as we did not spend much time in the hotel room. Recommend the standard room on the second floor which would suffice.
All hail Casa Ojai Inn! This is a beautiful, charming property with a Spanish style aesthetic, located on the main street in captivating Ojai. The rooms are spacious, modern and beautiful. You can walk to nearby restaurants and bars. The staff, highlighted by Angeliese and Autumn, is excellent and attentive -- and they have a smart, efficient virtual check-in process for COVID-19 in place. You can also check out bikes and swim in their pool. Check it out!
really enjoyed our stay, friendly staff, very helpful. only spend a night to sleep from our travels. has frg and Keurig. the pool and spa heated. right in the heart of downtown Ojai. the stairs to the 2nd floor needs to be reworked, so use the handrails.
