The most perfect spot, tranquil and very well run from the initial call making the reservation, through arrival, during our stay. It was very hard to leave. Anat is lovely and well as all the other staff members that we met during our stay.

Immaculately clean, staff is wonderful, no TV. Lavish vegan breakfast. Oranges from trees on the property. Great coffee. Did i say it is quiet? Lots of places to walk around or just sit quietly and read. More

The Pepper Tree Retreat was super clean. My room had a beach cottage feeling to it. It was a quiet property and surrounded by orange groves. The breakfast had many options and was organic. The herb garden and the library were my favorite part of the trip. I watched the sunset in the herb garden most nights. I also enjoyed... More

Beautifully situated on a hill with the smells of oranges, pepper corns, herbs, the Peppertree Retreat is a wonderful escape. The rooms, all different, are clean with a homey feeling (we saw 3 of them). The people are warm and welcoming.

An aura of serenity pervades the rooms, public spaces and grounds. The rooms are comfortable, good quality, and have the feeling of home. It is far enough from town to be quiet and a world apart, yet only a 5 minute drive to town. Lots of good hiking and only 25 minutes from the beach.

I felt very comfortable and it was charming and clean. I stayed there while attending a two day workshop. Breakfast is provided with a variety of healthy choices. I only wished I had more time to spend there relaxing and exploring the Krishnamurti Library and other places in Ojai.

I've stayed at The Pepper Tree Retreat several times in the past year. The rooms and suites are quiet, clean, and tended to with care. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is definitely a place for peace and contemplation and I come here to write and to meditate. I highly recommend it!

My visit to Pepper Tree was the 5th time I attended a retreat there. This time I have to say that the food was great, the weather perfect and the atmosphere was ripe for learning. The staff at Pepper Tree are always wonderful and at your service. My room was clean, comfortable and very spacious. Our meals were vegetarian and... More

Really beautiful place, peaceful and quiet. Breakfast could be better, it used to be better--fresher, more interesting-- but they scaled back to simple prepackaged stuff. Otherwise, very pleasant, could just hang out there all day and relax.

Hi Jeff, Thank you for taking time to share, we appreciate your feedback. The property is so relaxing on these warmer summer days, sitting under the big pepper tree in the shade and listening to the bees is a very special treat. Breakfast is actually all "packaged" by us in a local commercial kitchen to comply with stricter county rules.... More

The staff are eager to help within the limits of the situation. This is a 'sacred' space in and of itself and has benefit from that alone. There was some clumsy communication mix up that did not relay to us that the tues evening dialogue nor library would be available to us. We would have cancelled had we known that.... More
