I do not often write reviews of hotels. However, I was verbally abused and threatened repeatedly by Jennifer Dehoog, the owner/main manager of Ramada Oceanside. I stayed in the property on June 7 and checked out 15 minutes late as I was very sunburned. Jennifer flipped out on me, cursed at me, and insulted me repeatedly. I checked out and left. I stayed at the property again on June 9 thinking it would not be an issue again as I was planning to check out early and Jennifer barges in my room at 9:45am without permission and begins screaming at me while I am lying in bed without clothes on. She then slams the door shut when I point out how inappropriate it was that she violated my privacy. I then get a threatening phone call from her at the front desk with tons of obscenities being screamed to the point where I felt so threatened I called the police. I verified my info with the police and went to check out. Then Jennifer STOLE, COMPLETELY ROBBED me of my entire $200 cash deposit and refuses to give it back saying that it’s a private property, she makes the rules, and it says in the terms and conditions that any disturbance means she can arbitrarily keep the $200 deposit. I cannot contest this with my bank as it is a CASH deposit. I would highly recommend staying anywhere else. The property is cheap and like any other budget motel, but I would not want anyone to have to live through an experience as the one I had to deal with and when you have your deposit stolen the nightly rate goes up by $200 and you lose a lot of time. The owner called me laughing and said “sue me in court if you want your $200.” So yeah Jennifer, congrats on robbing me of my hard earned money, but I can’t imagine how $200 is worth losing revenue when people realize you’re a discriminatory, angry person who will not respect their privacy when in a hotel room.…
I always stay here when I’m in Oceanside. The staff is great and the rooms are comfortable. If there’s a problem the staff does their best to rectify that problem. I will definitely continue to stay here in future! Shoutout to Vinnie, Leon, Chase, Jennifer and Keiko!
Having to travel during this difficult time, we came to California due to a family members sudden death. With everything being shut down and scary to travel. The hotel staff were pleasant to deal with. Thank you.
There was no breakfast due to the virus goin on...but they didnt tell u till u checked in I would of gone somewhere else cuz we had 2 rooms with alot of people ...so next time I wish they would of called or emailed to notify us that it was down.
For the price in this area, this was not bad. Nothing exciting and don't expect breakfast here to factor into your plans. Property needs some repairs and rooms are mediocre at best. But for less than $150/night in this area, it isn't bad at all.
