We're really glad that we spent some time in Oakland instead of staying the whole time in San Francisco, and this hotel was very nice and comfortable! We were exhausted with jet lag at one point of our trip and we were really glad that it was while staying at this hotel. We stayed in the room for one night and ordered room service, with lovely service and good food, and we binge watched Netflix which we could sign into. The room was a nice size with a nice bathroom! It's in close walking distance to plenty of restaurants. We were a bit confronted by the homelessness, but this is a broader problem of the USA and is not only about Oakland. The people in the community, including staff at this hotel were super friendly and made our stay particularly enjoyable! I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Very nice hotel which I can highly recommend. It is a good deal to buy the small eveningbuffet including breakfast. The breakfast especially was very good, fresh fruit, berries etc. The hotel has a nice gym and an outdoor pool. The location of the hotel might not be the best.

I enjoy staying at this hotel. The M-Club lounge is well stocked and friendly servers. This stay I had the pleasure of talking with and giving feedback to Chef Nelson Ramirez upon his request. He was so knowledge, creative and willing to ensure a great experience for my colleague and I. We happened to be there with his first attempt to try a cold salad bar. WE LOVED IT! Chef Ramirez is a gem!

Visited the Oakland Marriott City Center for a conference. Bonvoy Titanium status did not bring an upgraded room but we did have access to Club M on the second floor which was convenient for free breakfasts with several healthy options, snacks and drinks during the day, and a quiet place to hold meetings. We requested a king and were given a room with two single beds. The gym is well-equipped and was never too busy. Conference food was mediocre and the hotel bar seemed understaffed. Luckily, Swan’s Market is right across the street and has great food and drinks in a casual setting. The room was comfortable and housekeeping was friendly and fast. I did have an issue re: my rate that is still under dispute—be careful about making any changes to your reservation online. If you have a special request, call the hotel directly.

I stay at a lot of hotels for business and this was up there with one of the worst. Despite an advance reservation thru their website, my room was not ready to check-in until after 5:30PM. After a long flight, that was unacceptable. There were several conferences here with young people running in and out of each others' rooms and the paper thin walls were a nightmare at night. You hear EVERYTHING and the room doors slam hard. Food on-site is unusually pricey and it is not safe for a single woman to walk in the neighborhood at night. Staff is courteous and friendly, but that cannot make-up for the noise. I will not attend any events here again and will let the conferences planners know that.
