My husband and I stayed at the Bed and Breakfast on Fairmount for 6 nights. We found it to be a very comfortable, clean, and welcoming place to stay. We stayed in the Twin Peach room which looked over the backyard garden.....a part of the extensive gardens around the B&B where fig and persimmon trees, herbs, veggies and all sorts... More

Weekend trip to join family baby shower celebration in Oakland. Bed and Breakfast on Fairmount was one of the best B and B experiences I've had! Nancy and Jason were very warm and welcoming creating a home-like atmosphere. My bed in the Plum Room was very comfortable, the room warm, sunny and quiet. The breakfasts were wonderful with fresh fruits... More

We flew all the way from Singapore to visit my wife's octogenarian uncle and aunt in Oakland. We chose the B & B which is a bus trip journey to their residence, so despite without a car, we were able to visit them a few times during our one week stay. We were able to explore the Lake Merritt neighbourhood... More

I stayed at this charming and comfortable B&B during the eight days leading up to and following the birth of my granddaughter in September 2015. Nancy and Jason could not have been more kind and considerate hosts. Every breakfast was sublime, incorporating such treats as fresh figs and other fruits from the garden outside, fresh eggs from the chickens, delicious... More

Rich and I recently traveled out to Oakland to visit our son and DIL. Nancy and Jason were so warm and welcoming and willing to help with suggestions of where to visit and shop. The accommodations were clean and comfortable and really pretty. It was easy to relax and enjoy our stay. I would recommend staying here without a moment;s... More

Nancy and Jason were very kind and accommodating. Stayed in Charlie's Queen and had everything I needed, loved the warm and comfortable feel of the room, views were beautiful at sunset, very nice touches all around. Only wished I'd been able to spend more time lounging in the cute little sun room upstairs or in the garden. Wasn't able to... More

A wonderful place to bide away the time when visiting the Bay Area including San Francisco, itself, be it to visit friends, family, or as tourists. Call a cab to the door, or walk to the MacArthur Bart station (it is 3/4 mile; or use one of the many shuttles going and coming 2 to 3 blocks from 640 Fairmount).... More

Nancy and Jason welcome you to their home with a smile and a well turned sense of humour. Breakfast is gourmet great, varied and plenteous. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and you get a glimpse of how to live graciously and organically in Oakland.

We stayed here while visiting our son and daughter-in-law. Our room, Charlie's Queen, was spacious, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the healthy and delicious breakfasts every morning, along with interesting conversation. The location is wonderful, just one block from Piedmont, where there are numerous shops and restaurants. It is also convenient to the shuttle for the Bart station. My husband... More

I concur with the great reviews that helped me decide to stay at this location. I really can't find anything wrong with our stay except for the parking--but that's not the owners' fault. If you do use their driveway to unload, park sideways across the space so the neighbors don't get wrinkled. Step out onto the sitting room at night... More
