I checked in and went to pick up a lifelong friend who was African-American. Upon returning to the property to pick up a coat, as soon as we entered the room the phone rang. The office called and proceeded to unleash a belligerent racist field rent. My friend had to go since he was black and after I tried to talk reason until the person I was told to get out our security to be called. No justification for this type of a treatment and outrageously racist behavior was warranted. the judgement to throw somebody off property because of the color of their skin and then to kick their friend out when asking what the infraction. This was some of the most blatant racism and discrimination rhat I've seen in 50 plus years.
Have been staying at Bay Bridge for several years while visiting nearby family and friends around the Bay. Have also become familiar with management over time and have kown them to have worked hard at improving accommadations and the grounds. While the surrounding neighborhood had been at times undesireable, it has been vastly improved. There are several good places to eat, Kaiser Medical Center close by as well as BART for traveling to San Francisco and within walking distance. My frequent stays from San Antonio, Tx, have always found me staying at Bay Bridge. My next visit will be at Bay Bridge.
I stayed here a couple of weeks ago to visit family. long story short the management decided to kick me out for reasons I am still unclear on.check in was fine, the issues started when I had a friend come over to pick up his sweater that I had from my last visit. I received a call from front desk saying my friend had to park outside and I offered to pay for the parking but the front desk agent denied. So I had my friend leave and park his car outside of the property. after he left my friend came by to get ready for a movie we were attending later that evening. I received a call again from front desk telling me my friend had to leave. I couldn't believe what I was hearing so I asked him why and he said occupancy was for 1 adult, which I understand working as a hotel employee myself. However this was no later than 6 PM and nowhere near bed time, plus we were leaving to the movie soon and he was not going to be coming back with me. I pleaded for the agent to please understand what I was saying, that my friend was not going to be staying in the room with me. but no such luck. After a while of going back and fourth about how this is totally acceptable and that I do his same job at a different hotel the front desk agent began to actually yell over the phone at me totally unwilling to listen to any common sense. He eventually started to yell that he would be there with security to kick me out. Moments later I heard loud banging on my door but at this point I was totally in chock and scared to be completely honest. After a couple of minutes they stopped and shouted that they will call police. For once I felt a sense of relief knowing that police would show up since I really was doing nothing wrong and they were actually making me terrified. I then received a call in the room again this time from management telling me I needed to leave(no reason was given to me) and that if I dont comply they were calling the police. He said that he was already cancelled the reservation and I no longer that a right to stay in the room and he was already refunded my money back. The manager sounded calm but didn't seem apologetic or seemed to sympathize as if they had done nothing wrong. The only thing that made me leave was knowing they had cancelled my reservation without my consent and the fact that they were civil enough to at least refund me my money for the terrifying experience. almost a whole month has passed now and I still have not received any refund from this property and am still waiting. I notified Hotels.com about this and they treated me much better and even gave me a credit for the horrifying experience. To this day I wonder why they singled me out while other peopl had multiple people staying with them. Surely they dont verify number of adults for every single person. A part of me believes that it was due to their personal beliefs/religion. Which is discrimination. My advice is to stay the heck away from this property or they re more than capable of taking your money and kicking you out for no reason.…
For the price this place cant be beat. It's almost half of the cost of other nearby motels. So this was my experience : Cons - Very musty smell; not terrible, but just annoying. Shower water took a while to get warm and it only was warm; I just couldn't get any hot water after trying a while to adjust the lever. No coffee pot. Very small room (about 13' x 13"). No tissues in bathroom even though there was a cut-out for them.Close to freeway, so constant background traffic noise - but not that bad. Pros - Excellent price (this was the only reason I picked this place). Large tv. Working micro and fridge. Comfortable bed. And finally - for a small place it had a very large and modern bathroom. Good insulation between rooms - could not hear my neighbors.
Hello, I have a reservation scheduled for today Nov 19, 2018 through Nov 20. 2019. The name of the person listed to stay at the hotel was entered onto the website at hotels. com. You recently spoke with a representative from Hotels.com to cancel one of the reservations. My brother was just in your hotel and was told that there was no reservation when in fact there were two, one of which was confirmed to be cancelled by yourself and hotels.com representative while I was on hold on the phone with hotels.com on the other line. If you will not allow him to stay at your hotel and continue to give horrible, despicable customer service to him I will gladly take my money back. As there are plenty other hotels willing to gracefully host its patrons!! I travel the world on an almost daily basis for work and never have I experienced the like. I will not be charged for a room that neither he or I get to utilize. I even emailed to give you a chance to correct your error and am disappointed to say you did not show regard. As such my regard for you and your establishment deserves less than one star. Travelers... Please Do Not Stay Here. Find somewhere else like I did.…
