Evergreen Haus was a nice quiet place to relax after spending time in Yosemite with tons of people. To be able to come back to peace and quiet was awesome. Eddie has so much information about the park and what to see in the time you have. We totally recommend at least 3 nights and we stayed 6 and that was perfect. There is a full kitchen if you wish to cook and an outdoor grill. There was no noise between rooms and we stayed In the Sequoia room which had its own separate outdoor space. There is a large deck with tons of outdoor space as well as a large living area with a huge TV. We slept better than we had in a month of travel. The bed was amazing. There is also a washer and dryer to use here which we used often. The town of Oakhurst has most everything you would need including restaurants, Grocery, etc. If we ever come back to Yosemite we will definitely stay here. Thank you Eddie for a great experience.

My husband and I stayed here two nights to explore Yosemite. Eddie was very knowledgeable about the best hiking and scenic points to see, and gave us plenty of information and maps so we were all prepared when we entered the park. The property is stunning, and our room was incredibly comfortable....felt like home and not a generic hotel room. The shower had amazing water pressure and stayed hot, and Eddie even had full size shampoo/body washes for us to use. Towels were fluffy and thick, and the bed was very comfy (overslept both days because we didnt want to get out!) The electric fireplace was a nice touch too. My husband and I enjoyed sitting on the big deck overlooking the mountains during the sunset and had a great chat with Eddie. The property is very close to the park entrance, and the Mariposa trees, which was very convenient. Eddie also recommended a great mexican restaraunt in town for dinner and it did not disappoint! What a wonderful find, and I can wholeheartedly unequivocally recommend Evergreen Haus for anyone coming to Yosemite! Will absolutely stay here again when we come back!

We were looking for a quiet cabin stay for a while for our holiday vacation. This place attracted us a lot as it has so many things to offer. We enjoyed every moment of our stay of having a choice to cook our food, breakfast time in patio while greeting unexpected visitors (deer), clean and neat common areas always well maintained, quiet and relaxing moments with family. A big thanks to Eddie for his dedication to this place in its tidy maintenance and his friendly help to make us familiar with the tour spots in and around Oakhurst including Yosemite. We would love to stay here again.

This is a European type B&B or lodge where you make your own meals but that's totally fine by us. Dad and I stayed here 2 nights in June 2019 and had a great stay. Just a little short. Be sure and stay 3 days or MORE to even begin soaking in all the area has to offer and reap the benefits of all Eddie's suggestions and advice. He's a fountain of knowledge for the area and Yosemite NP. All you'll ever need is here at his place, washing machines and all (just like home). VERY clean...I loved that! And...quiet! Easy parking too! No hesitation recommending Evergreen Haus to anyone. This is exactly the way I'd run a B&B if I were to jump into that type of venture. And Eddie definitely has the gift-of-gab (much like me). Make sure you listen to all he has to share. Being in a strange place and having an anchor of information (like Eddie) is invaluable. Loved your place man and your hospitality! Keep it up! We may be back if ever in California again! :)

Evergreen haus was an amazing place to stay while visiting Yosemite. It was a cute little lodge overlooking the beautiful Mountainside. We stayed for 4 nights while visiting Yosemite for 3 days. Eddie was incredible- he owns and runs the lodge! He's an avid hiker and has lived in the area for many years. He was so kind and helped us plan out our trip to make the best use of our time and see the sites we wanted to see in the time we had. He offered travel suggestions, hiking trails, and best scenic places to see while on our short stay to maximize our time! This lodge was the perfect location- just outside the park (maybe 15 mins), perfect to get a great nights sleep, and a nice shower in after long hot days of hiking, leaving us ready to go the next day! Also, helps avoid the traffic of the direct Yosemite gate area and gives you access to the Oakhurst restaurants and gas stations. Highly recommend and when we come back will be staying here again :)

The Evergreen Haus is the perfect place to stay near Yosemite! The cabin is large, but has a cozy feel with beautiful furnishings & modern fixtures. There are nice touches throughout that make this place special, such as the many pictures/posters of Yosemite's magnificent vistas, the comfortable bed, ample coffee supplies, the faux fireplace, the beautiful tile & woodwork in the bathroom, the huge front porch that is a wonderful place for morning coffee, & the clean/fresh smell in the rooms. Eddie is a terrific host, who not only gives great tips (such as the best time to arrive @ the Yosemite gate in the mornings & "Ducey's On the Lake" for dinner), but he also graciously jumped off our car when the battery died overnight! The only thing that we missed was being able to lounge in the gorgeous living room & kitchen areas, but due to Covid restrictions, we could only look in & admire. Hopefully they will be able to be opened soon. I highly recommend the Evergreen Haus!

We stayed at the Evergreen Haus this weekend and arrived early to be greeted warmly by Eddie, the owner. He wasted no time giving us a full tour of the common areas and different amenities the property offered. We happened to arrive during the first full day of the Washburn wildfire and had a million questions about the park, our location and suggestions for our trip since some of the park was closed such as Mariposa grove where the fire was. Eddie took his time to answer all of our questions and gave very helpful advice from a locals perspective including telling us to consider visiting the upper meadows of the park which ended up being our favorite non valley adventure. The property is a great place to come back to after a long day out, it’s in a quiet area where you can see the stars shine brightly from the outdoor deck, or eat a group meal at common area which has a full kitchen and snack lineup. We saw many European guests visit the property and they had nothing but great things to say! The location is also great because it’s close to the South Gate of the park nearest to Fresno and just outside the town of Oakhurst that has a large grocery store and plenty of food options! We would definitely stay again.
The only thing I would say to be aware of when you visit is the driveway is a bit steep so take your time and go slowly as I have a low sitting car which scraped a bit if I went to fast. :)

Especially European guests who a place to stay at that reveals the old Western days will find it here! The accommodation is not only impressive because it brings you closer to the times of the gold rush, but also because of its great location. It is only a 16-minute drive to the south entrance of Yosemite Park. In addition, Eddie, the owner, is always there to give you helpful tips. This gave my father and I the opportunity to get the most out of a short time in Yosemite.

My husband and I stayed at Evergreen Haus for 5 days and could not have been happier. The whole place was spotless and I felt right at home. We had a group from Houston staying in other places all over Oakhurst to run the Yosemite Half Marathon, and they all agreed that our place, Evergreen Haus, was the best! We had a pizza party for the group after the race and the deck and kitchen worked perfectly for us. The proximity to the Marathon start area (4 miles) and to Yosemite National Park (10 miles) worked well. The host, Eddie, helped with all our questions. And we shared the grounds with wild turkeys, deer, and quail. Excellent stay!

This place is great. Wonderful, comfortable room and access to kitchen with breakfast items available for use by the guests. Huge, beautiful great room and a porch overlooking the mountain skyline ….. Edward was so kind offering us suggestions for Yosemite based on our interests. The location is just 15 min south of the South Gate of the National Park.

Yosemite valley (YV) is about an hour's drive from Evergreen Haus depending on time of day, many of the trails start in YV or you can take one of the park buses in YV to the particular trail head. Visitor's Center has bus schedule
