June was very accommodating in that she made excellent gluten free focaccia bread for us. It was a really nice gesture to cater to our diets. This place also had very soft, comfortable sheets. We loved eating breakfast on the lookout of the caboose. Will definitely return some day.
The setting is so charming, 9 cabooses on a beautifully landscaped property. The caboose was delightfully charming, with a jacuzzi bathtub and a lovely view of the lake from the upstairs cupola. June and Paul were wonderful hosts, and June is a fabulous cook. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious.
Our group of 8 friends travel together to explore new wine regions twice a year; this time was to seek out the Clear Lake/Upper Lake Region. The Featherbed was such a nice surprise, not only in the uniqueness of staying in an actual caboose, but also the hospitality shown to us by our hosts, June & Paul. All of the cabooses were nicely appointed and very different from each other. The ambiance of Casablanca - with the piano and "Rick's American Cafe" detailing were cool! The wood paneling, the AMAZING claw foot tub with brass fixtures and the pull chain toilet in Wild West were great! Tropicaboose got a rave review from one of our friends who loved the shower; Midnight in Paris was a hit and the Orient Express didn't disappoint either. We truly enjoyed our long weekend exploring this new-to-us-area, but June & Paul's hospitality, the super-delicious breakfasts (their coffee is absolutely amazing~!) and their interaction with us on tips and suggestions for the area, really made our trip so memorable. As I said to our hosts upon leaving - 'we'll be back'. Thanks again for such a nice adventure!…
We really enjoyed our stay here. So much fun to sleep in a Caboose! It was nice and quiet and the owners are just the nicest folks you would ever meet anywhere! Breakfast was awesome! June is a great cook! The view from the dock of the lake with all the birds was really beautiful. We had a great mini Vacation, it was really needed and much appreciated.
Our Caboose room was Harley Davidson themed and a lot of thought and energy was put into it. Room was very clean, could have use an additional outlet. The breakfast both days was great and the owners friendly and helpful when discussing our planned trip to the coast to see the lighthouses around Mendocino. My husband and I would definitely stay here again.
The Wild West caboose was detailed throughout with various old West items and with a perfectly designed interior with finely crafted wood paneling. The grounds outside the caboose were landscaped and very pleasant to stroll through in the evening. The breakfast was also very well made and presentation was excellent. Had many good conversations with the owners. June made the best scones that I have ever eaten!. For lunch, I would recommend going North about 1 mile to the Mar-Val Sentry grocery store and order a custom made sandwich; they are delish and cheap!
What a wonderful little getaway we had The caboose was perfect a lot of hot water and a few on the lake with the snow on the top of the hill was admirable This wasn’t our first day but like always June and Paul were amicable hosts And a breakfast food was served in the caboose with a big smile a cup of coffee and scones so delicious
What a great place to get away. The rooms/cabooses (cabeese?) are a wonderful way to stay. Comfortable, clean, and well-decorated! Truly a great experience. Beautiful view of the lake, about 100 feet away) and nice grounds to walk around. The dining room is really a treat to visit and sit in. If you like trains, you should definitely check this out. AND, the hosts, June and Paul, are very friendly and helpful. AND - the food is great!
We LOVED our stay at the Featherbed Railroad B&B! The owners are some of the nicest people around and will make you feel right at home immediately. The room was beautiful, the view of the lake is stunning, and the breakfast (especially the corn bread) was delicious! Can't wait to plan our next trip back
We stayed here for our 10 year wedding anniversary and it was so amazing. We stayed in the " easy rider" caboose and it is top notch. Owners June and Paul were awesome and left no stone unturned in making our stay one we will never forget. From champagne on arrival to made to order breakfast! Unreal!! We will definitely be back!!
