Paul and June are truly amazing people! It was a pleasure to be on this nostalgic adventure especially staying a couple nights in the caboose. The breakfast meals were yummy! The swimming pool was a complimentary experience. We enjoyed the scenic view of the lake from the caboose area. We plan to be back soon!

During a recent wildfire, my family and I were evacuated with our dogs. My husband and I had stayed at Featherbed several years back and we lucky enough to get two rooms last minute that could accommodate our dogs for the night. The owners went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. They got us to our rooms right away and were so kind and gracious about out situation. They were able to accommodate dietary needs such as gluten free and vegetarian for the outstanding breakfast. They even called around to help us find a hotel for the rest of the evacuation. The train cars were clean, well cared for and just cool! They had movies we could borrow and we were able to grab a bottle of wine to help us relax. I can't say enough nice things about the resort and its kind owners. We will definitely be coming back soon for a real vacation!

We stayed in the Wild West caboose, and it was so much fun! Peaceful, quiet and very private, lovely lake view, very close to wineries. Comfortable accommodations, which included mini fridge, air con, great bed, large tub. Breakfast on the patio prepared by June was delicious and plentiful. Very charming couple run the place, and it is spotless, cute and memorable. We would love to return to try the Casablanca or the Orient Express! Highly recommend. You will go home recharged!

I HIGHLY recommend staying here. The room we stayed in was very clean, the bed was super comfortable, and breakfast was outstanding. I was surprised at how spacious the rooms are for a converted caboose. I don't usually sleep well the first night in a hotel, but due to the super comfy bed and sheets I slept through the night like it was my own bed. Two of the nights there were not any other guests, and the owners asked us what we would like for breakfast the next morning. That was a level of service I was not expecting. The owners really understand how to make your stay exceptional and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. By the end of our stay, it felt like we had been staying with long time friends, not some random hotel. We will definitely be staying there again!

Staying here is a unique experience. If you're visiting the area oh, and you have a day for something curly unique, I recommend staying here. Things you'll absolutely love. - Caboose is absolutely amazing inside. There's even a cupola for you to climb up onto and look out above the caboose. - Lakefront setting is beautiful. - Wild West, large, claw foot soaking tub. - Ultra clean inside. - Parking app the foot of your caboose's stairs. - Good cable TV. - Nice grounds with picnic tables, and there's even a pool if it's summer. - Full breakfast in a very nice dining room. Things you might like. - Verizon 4G mobile phone signal. - Fisherman's Paradise, from what I've heard. - Fantastic drone flying opportunities. Clearlake is a great place to fly your drone. Things you might not like so much. - Bed sheets have strong smell of scented laundry detergent. I am not hypersensitive to smells, but it definitely kept me awake. - Very expensive for a winter weekend getaway. - No Wi-Fi in the Caboose.

Thank you for your thoughtful and informative review. Sorry the scent of the sheets was too strong, you are the first to comment about that, but I will see what I can do. As far as our pricing is concerned, we do include a full, hot breakfast with the price of the room, and we try and stay competitive in our rates with the other lodging establishments, of similar quality, in our area. We are offering a 15% discount for the month of March, if you click on the "discounts" tab on our booking site. It is hard to beat our tranquil park like setting, right on the lake, with a beautiful view, and none of the noise, hustle and bustle of the city.
