The property is very nice, especially the lobby/bar area. The rooms were also nice. I arrived early and received an early check-in. That process was not smooth at all. When I finally got to my room, the headboard was chipped, the bathroom toilet paper holder was broken and there was pubic hair on the toilet seat and a mystery stain... They moved me to a different room via valet (he was very nice and helpful!). The new room was gorgeous and overlooked the pool. The bartender was also really nice and helpful. It is really close to the beach. Overall, I wouldn't stay there again because I could spend the same amount elsewhere, but it was not a terrible stay.

This hotel used to be good. I've been a lot over the years for water polo tournaments for our son but this most recent visit was not good at all. I feel bad b/c I had booked 14 rooms for the team and parents. First of all not all the rooms were ready even at the 4pm check-in. Second of all, as a Titanium Elite I was not recognized at all. No upgrade (even when I asked and they even said suites were available but he didn't want to give it to me). I had to ask for my breakfast voucher. When we got to our room we were immediately hit by a horrible smell. It smelled like wet dirty socks. The floor was dirty with some sort of dirt/dust looking debris. We called and to their credit they moved us to another room (which was actually a downgraded room on a lower floor and not a pool view). At that point I didn't care b/c there was no way I could stay in our original room. It clearly wasn't cleaned and the smell was terrible. In one of our rooms, the sink faucet was just a trickle. Water pressure was terrible but it was ok in the shower. There was no Elite water bottles. The room itself was nice and spacious and well laid out. Parking is insanely stupidly expensive at $41 for self-park and $46 for valet. It is nice that they don't charge a resort fee, however we were not able to use the amenties anyways. The breakfast buffet was not great but the servers were really excellent and very friendly. I will not be booking our group bookings there anymore, nor will I be staying there on my own. Far better options in the area that will recognize elite status and also provide clean rooms on-time.…

Manager Pretesh Patel went above and beyond to make our 30th anniversary stay amazing! Thank you very much! We are very appreciative of you! The hotel room was a very nice size and updated. I was very happy that we had a mini fridge and a full length mirror. The bathroom is updated and spacious.

We have been staying here for years now and always look forward to it. The hotel staff is fairly accommodating and helpful. I like the pool and also we used the pickleball courts and they have racquets and balls available for use without charge. Breakfast at the hotel is great and have plenty of options. The downside to the hotel is that it's a little drive to the beach and you can hear planes at various times of the day. But all in all, it's a great hotel, very convenient and close to shopping/beaches, etc. It's always clean and comfortable. I recommend it for the price.

This hotel is really great. Can't say enough great things about it. It's 3 mins from the airport, 1/2 a mile if that. No airport noise though and rooms are very well sound proofed. It used to be a Fairmont before Marriott Renaissance took over. This was my first time here; so I can't speak to how it was compared to then. However, I really loved the hotel. Very top notch with cleanliness, infused water in the lobby, and impeccable rooms. Lovely staff. They gave us a generous upgrade on one of the rooms to a patio room which was such a treat. The patio rooms are absolutely amazing, although they are not inexpensive. We were lucky to get an upgrade because I am a very loyal Marriott guest. The only one recommendation I would make if you are going to stay here is to get the parking package. Because if you do not, the self and valet parking is a whopping $41/$46 a night regardless of Bonvoy status. I would only stay here again if I could get that package. However, the valet is great and you can call down to have them pull your car up before you come down. We will definitely stay here again, no question... as long as we can get the parking package! I went to my gym down the street during the stay... however, the only one thing that surprised me was that the gym did not have a Peloton. However, again it didn't matter to me since I went to my Equinox club to work out.…

We had a wonderful 10-days stay at Renaissance Hotel in Newport Beach. The facility was very clean and organized. Loved the gym and the outdoor pool. The room was spacious, room service was timely and staff were friendly and made us feel at home. Most notably, Nasrin at the front desk, was kind, professional and so helpful and attentive of all of our needs at the hotel! Thank you for the wonderful experience!

We enjoyed our stay at this well renovated hotel. The staff were very well trained, better than the average US hotel. We enjoyed the updated room. If you book on the Marriott site you can get a package with breakfast and free parking for not much more than the room alone. The breakfast buffet was small but everything was really tasty. The made to order omelet was very good. Coffee was good too. The bed was also very good.

The Renaissance Captures you as soon as you walk in. The scent of citrus is welcoming. The staff definitely acknowledges your status and offered water at check in. The rooms are nice and if you need more room get one with a balcony. The restaurant has great options and vegan options, as well. Only thing was the loud doors. Every door slams shut and you can hear that echoed all night. That’s only issue! Located near food, bars and 5 minutes from the airport

Overall, a nice stay. We stayed three nights over the weekend. The hotel interior is newly updated and has a nice fun modern vibe. We had the breakfast rate, which is for their buffet. It included coffee, tea, juice, cooked to order eggs, and the continental buffet. Sometimes they had bananas and yogurt parfaits. The self parking is in the adjoining garage with plenty of space. There is one EV charger in the valet area. Unsure if you have to pay for valet to use is. The room had a few issues (shower head broken and air filter was dirty). The staff quickly rectified. They were easily reachable and prompt on the Marriott chat function on their app. Housekeeping is by request and had no issues, which is rare in hotels nowadays. The pool area is in the roof and mostly clean. But the pool itself was not well maintained. It has missing tile. There are cabanas all around the pool area that were unused. I would stay again but mindful that the pool was not the best. Close to John Wayne, Newport Coast, and Disneyland.…
