Staying at Pelican Hill is a wonderful experience. The grounds and amenities are immaculate and only outshined by the wonderful staff. I can't say enough good things about how helpful and friendly everyone was. Specifically Kevin Yoches was polite, engaging and a wealth of local knowledge. Mario who delivered us ice to our bungalow, and even offered to drive (and pick up!) us to dinner off property made us feel like family. I would highly recommend a stay at Pelican Hill, and hope to return soon.
The hotel property is one of the most beautiful properties in the Orange County. It's vast compound consists of a golf course, restaurants and a view to die for. We were able to get a villa and the rooms are quite spacious. The rooms are clean and the service at this hotel great. This resort makes you feel like you're not in California, but on an island somewhere. The most amazing thing about staying at this resort are its amenities. The swimming pool is set up like the Roman coliseum and the pool is probably double or triple the size of any standard hotel pool. We loved staying at this hotel and would stay here again!
This was my second stay at Pelican Hill in one month. Pandemic-life (working from home, kids in distance learning, etc.) was wearing on me, and I desperately needed a vacation. I chose Pelican Hill, because I liked the open-air layout of the property and it checked all the boxes for me (great pool, close to the beach, golf, and it was within an hour drive for me). The property is beautifully-maintained, the bungalows were beautiful and felt very private, and the service was fantastic. On my first weekend, it rained, so I enjoyed a cozy weekend filled with in-room dining, wine, and simply relaxing by the in-room fireplace. This past weekend, the weather was beautiful, so we golfed, walked down to the beach, swam in the perfectly heated, spectacular pool, and enjoyed food + cocktails overlooking the pool. Everything about both my stays was lovely, and I found the ability to text any requests to the hotel super helpful and easy. My family did not want to leave!…
I surprised my wife with a stay at The Resort at Pelican Hill for our 25th wedding anniversary. I had reach out to the GM Gerard Widder in advance of our stay to let him know that it was a special occasion. He immediately responded to my outreach and put me in contact with one of the Concierge Supervisors from the hotel, Andrew Bennett. Spectacular is the word that best captures our experience. We can’t possibly thank Gerard, Andrew, and the rest of the exemplary staff enough for their exceptional service and care. Andrew Bennett in particular went above and beyond in helping to plan and execute our stay. And Pelican Hill was overly generous in so many ways – none the least of which was an upgrade to a king bungalow suite with an ocean view. A memory that my wife Kathy and I will often reflect on and cherish for the rest of our lives. The suite, grounds, view, and facilities are gorgeous!…
I have stayed in hotels only twice since Covid started last March and both of those stays were at Pelican. My girlfriend and I are pretty careful and don’t go out frequently but both trips we felt very comfortable. The check in process is great. I love the bag that guests receive with masks and other goodies. This is a great way to start a stay especially for someone that takes a lot of precautions. The front desk agent was super friendly and knowledgeable and I love how we are given a map and shown where we are and where our room is without even asking. Next driving to our room the gentleman at the gate welcomed us and was extremely friendly with a big smile and again assisted us on where to go to get to our room. Walking up to the room I love how the door and lock had the seal on it showing the room was cleaned. The room itself is amazing and a perfect setup. The Patio with the table and chairs were perfect to enjoy a meal and the amazing view and it was also really nice to have the lounge chairs during the day. One thing that I have never really thought about but my girlfriends favorite thing about the room is the two bathrooms. Here I am enjoying this amazing suite and ocean view and she cant get over the fact that she gets her on bathroom ha. We ordered room service the first night right around dinner time on a Saturday night so we figured it would be pretty busy. Instead of just waiting and waiting like you do at most hotels the girl taking the order first advised they are experiencing a little longer waits than usual. This is awesome. Again instead of just waiting around at least we had a realistic expectation. I ordered the cheeseburger which was really good. I also love the fact you can text during your stay. This is so convenient. Once we were done with dinner I placed the food outside and text and someone came and picked up. The next morning we got up early (we wanted to beat the beach crowd.) I again just text the number asking for the beach service. The shuttle came and picked us up from the room. This is such a cool perk of staying at pelican. The driver was very friendly and had a little bag with beach towels and water. We stayed for a couple hours and once we were ready I text again for pick up. Literally by the time we packed up and dropped our chairs off and walked to the shuttle area the shuttle was already there waiting for us. Such good service. Later in the evening we went for a walk right around sunset. We stopped by the pool to catch a few minutes of the incredible view. We sat down just for a few minutes to take a few pictures and Bryce saw us and starting chatting and asked how our staying was going. We had just asked a few questions about pool hours for the next day and when service starts. He then offered to sanitize a day bed for us so we could enjoy the rest of the sunset. This was pretty cool and something like this can make someone’s stay just like it did for us. He sanitized and laid some towels out for us. He could have easily just walked past us but he took the time to chat and go above and beyond and I thought this was really neat. We went back to the pool the next morning and as soon as we walked up it was Bryce again who welcomed us and set up a day bed and towels for us to enjoy during the day. I have stayed and worked in many hotels and there is usually someone or a certain department that can be friendlier or do something better to assist but this is not the case at Pelican. Literally everyone we came in contact with was beyond friendly and there to assist however they could. Out of all the hotels I have worked at and stayed at this property has had the best service I have ever come across…
