Most importantly, Deer Creek Inn is as cozy and comfortable as it gets. My room was air-conditioned, and there was a ceiling fan. The queen-size bed was perfect. There was a beautiful porch that overlooked the river. There are plenty of electrical outlets in the room. The wifi worked great, and there's even a small TV with cable. Ruth, the proprietor, met me at the door. She gave a great historical talk about the house and the town of Nevada City. The location is perfect. There's free parking at the inn, and the city center is less than 5 minutes walk. This is beautifully-restored 1890s-era house. It's on an amazing riverfront hillside, and there's a beautiful riverside garden for relaxing with a cup off coffee or glass of wine. But the property is not accessible for the disabled. You can't enter the house without steps, and as far as I could see, there are't any rooms that don't require stair climbing. This statement isn't meant as criticism, but only to help manage expectations for elderly or disabled guests. Deer Creek Inn is definitely one of the best of California. Locals must spend a weekend at Deer Creek Inn, Nevada City. Tourists must take a couple days outside of San Francisco and see this amazing little town.…
This place is not only charming and serves a wonderful breakfast, it has a great location. you can park your car and can walk to anyplace in town. We walked to dinner, then to a musical at the Nevada theater. If you want a place that is quite, charming and has a good location stay here at the Deer Creek Inn.
I recently took a trip to Nevada City looking for property. I selected Deer Creek Inn for my stay and I couldn’t be more thrilled that I did. The owner Ruth was welcoming and extremely accommodating. I was greeted by a clean and cozy creekside room with a private balcony and viewS of not only Deer Creek, but the beautiful grounds of the inn. Located one block from Broad St. Deer Creek is in easy walking distance from dining, shopping and all Nevada City has to offer. The tranquil and calming atmosphere of the Inn was complemented by the Ruth’s hospitality, charming personality and her magnificent breakfasts! I highly recommend Deer Creek Inn for you next trip to charming and historic Nevada City!
My husband & I stayed here as a last minute trip for our anniversary. This inn was so beautiful. Ruth was the best and very knowledgeable about the history of the inn, and did i mention the homemade limoncello? It was so delicious! Breakfast was AMAZING. We will definitely be going back. Thank you for making our anniversary a memorable one!
Highly recommend staying at this wonderful inn!! Not only did it tug it my historical heartstrings but Ruth's hospitality was top-notch. Rooms were immaculate and breakfast was nothing shy of superior. Deer Creek won't disappoint!!
