A charming B&B between Napa and Yountville, which is a great location for some days of wine tasting. The rooms are very nice, well decorated with all the necessary amenities and spacious. They have two electric bikes available and a small fitness room. A small barn is open 24hs with snacks and soft drinks. The reception is only open between 8am and 6pm but are helpful if you need recommendations or last minute reservations. The breakfast is served at 8:30am and delivered at your door - a nice touch.

I'm writing this review based on my customer's feedback and also the interaction I had with Candice the GM.
I am a wine tour driver here in the Napa Valley, and every time I drive somebody that is staying at the Setting Inn, their feedback is always exceptional... And they always seem to be in a fantastic mood when I pick them up.
My vehicle battery died, and Candice went well above her call of duty. First she searched high and low for a jumper box or jumper cables, and when she couldn't find any ,she went all the way into town and picked up a pair of jumper cables at the auto supply store ... She did all this with a gregarious up- beat spirit. Candice is an A+++ individual.
Thank you again Candice!

When we arrived there was wine on site and not only was our room pristine, we had a personal note to welcome us AND our bathroom floors were pre-heated!! When I think of an Inn or B&B, I picture outdated decor with a breakfast I’d rather not have. This was the exact opposite. Everything in our room was contemporary and modern yet comfortable - I even took a pic of the tag on the bedding because I’m going to buy it for my home. As much as I hate to say it, it was all very “instagrammable” with Joanna Gaines farmhouse vibes. I took tons of photos.
The amenities were really surprising too. It’s actually a converted farmhouse built in 1901 and completely updated and restored. I think there are 6 rooms total so you should definitely book in advance. Our room was WAY larger than your average hotel room with a huge bathroom, little kitchenette with fridge and wine opener (must have), and a large, private balcony overlooking the vineyard. It really felt like an oppoulent master bedroom. The bathroom floors were heated, and our room had a beautiful big bathtub with a cute tray and double sinks. There’s no way you’d get this at a larger hotel. We even had breakfast delivered every morning from Bouchon bakery with some of the best croissants and fresh squeezed orange juice I’ve ever had. They also have Nespresso coffee in the room but apparently the coffee in the lobby is hand selected by David from some cool local coffee shop.
The location is prime as well. You’re really smack in the middle of everywhere you’d want to go and it’s so scenic. Plus, not only did David have endless recommendations tailored exactly for your vibe, he even called in advance so that each winery welcomed us personally. Some even threw in some goodies because we mentioned David’s recommendation, and others opened their doors just for us. I addition to winery recs, he gave us options for dinner as well, and even helped us with our reservations when we were struggling to change our time. It reminded me of the kind of service you get at the four seasons. We did Restoration Hardware and Bottega for dinners. We were worried Covid might affect our visit but it didn’t at all. We couldn’t have had more of a personalized experience.
Also, if you just want to go and get away without leaving your room, the Inn has this really cute back house with an awesome lounge - again with furniture I took photos of lol. We had our own private wine tasting with wines that are actually from The Setting Inn and made in their own vineyards.
it was honestly perfect. we’re already planning our trip back :)

Dear Courtney, What a treat to showcase the best of Napa for you and fiance! I am delighted you enjoyed our modern and specious rooms along with a great glass of wine. Our vineyard views are spectacular and offer a special insight to the craftsmanship of winemaking from the ground up. We have wonderful partners who commit to creating a Setting experience everywhere our guests go and feasting at Bottega and RH Yountville is truly the quintessential Napa culinary experience. We'll be hard at work this year to continue to elevate everything we do and look forward to welcoming you and Jon back very soon! Cheers, David

If I only had one criticism of our stay at The Setting, it would be that we only stayed one night! My wife and I were traveling with friends through Sonoma and we decided to spend one night in Napa before flying out the next morning. We enjoyed the epic scenery along the drive from Sonoma to Napa, We took our sweet time getting to our destination, as the journey itself was a highlight of the trip. We took in a delightful late lunch at the Farmhouse Restaurant and indulged in the perfect foods, with the perfect wines, in the perfect mix of sunshine and breeze. We had grand plans of winery hopping and an equally gluttonous dinner ahead. Until, of course, we arrived at the most aptly-named inn I’ve ever stayed at – The Setting. It was perfected situated in the heart of Napa. David was a gracious and kind host, meeting our party to check us in. My wife’s first words upon seeing our room were “I’m not going to be able to leave that bathtub!” We all reconvened a few minutes later to enjoy a beautifully-prepared wine tasting to toast our arrival. David was great at welcoming us, providing excellent conversation, and just a laid-back easy reception. We were in love with the indoor/outdoor lounge and were able to take in the last rays of afternoon sun paired with the most perfect wines. It was that moment we decided all we wanted to do was sip some more wine in this beautiful setting, order some pizza, and just relax. Wholdathunk we’d get to Napa and not set foot in a single winery?!?!?!?!? I couldn’t have pictured a better evening. The Setting is simply that – a picturesque and comfortable setting to just unwind, eat, drink, and be merry. We will gladly be back, and for a much longer stay next time!

The reviews looked too good to be true - but they are right. This inn is outstanding. From the moment we checked in for a two stay everything was perfect. Onsite manager Ashley was a great host, and full of information. Out cottage was immaculate and spacious, with beautiful views over vineyards. And despite being near a main road it was very quiet. Breakfast was also great - with delicious pastries. There was a coffee machine in our room, but freshly brewed coffee was available for collection in the main property. It is the sort of place you hope all inns are going to be (and so often aren’t!). I unhesitatingly recommend it.

Wonderful stay. Great location. The room was excellent; large, clean and nicely accommodated. Heated floors in the bathroom are a great touch as is the breakfast delivery from Bouchon Bakery each morning. The team is friendly and attentive. Thank you, Candice and Lexi! Also did a wine tasting of The Setting wines. A great tasting; some great wines! Thank you, Katie! Stay here. You won't be disappointed.

The Inn is very nice and newly renovated. The barn and the room accommodations are very nice and it's a great HQ from which to start your Napa adventures. The breakfast delivery is a nice touch. I know that a lot of people complained about the highway noise, but from our perspective, it was not an issue at all. Here is the reason for the reduced rating. When we checked in, there was no toilet paper to be found anywhere in the room. It was after 7pm and after 7pm, no one is on the premises, so we had no one to help. There is a phone number in the reception area that says we can call for the attendant, but I called and text and there was no response. It took until 11:45am the next morning for anyone to respond. For the price you pay to stay at the Setting Inn, unfortunately, that is not acceptable. Still a very cute place, but know what you're getting into before you book.

This is a beautiful in located very close to Yountville, Napa and the wine road. The Inn is beautifully appointed, it has 5 rooms in the main house and 2 rooms in the nearby cottage. This Inn’s rooms are very large and spacious. We stayed in the Oak Knoll room on the first floor and had our own deck with a settee and table and chairs. It was wonderful for breakfast in the morning. Speaking of which, the pastries come from Thomas Keller’s famous Bouchon Bakery and are perfection. We has a king bed, fireplace with two chairs, A small sofa and a kitchenette. They had thought of everything from plates, wine glasses, champagne flutes , an espresso machine and a small fridge. In the Bathroom there is a soaking tub and a huge shower and lots of amenities to include slipper, robes, and Lather hair care and body products. The backyard was thoughtfully appointed and had outdoor sitting area with fire pits and a beautiful water feature. The barn was lovely and lots of games and even bathrooms. The staff was kind and the owner David was very nice. The only downside was whoever was staying above us was very noisy, this was disappointing that the upper floor was not more soundproof. All in all a wonderful stay and we will return. Thank you Setting Inn for a few days of peace in this crazy time.

Where do I begin in one of the most relaxing stays I’ve had in a really long time? As soon as you walk in, you smell the light scent of candles and coffee that immediately makes you feel like home. David, the general manager, warmly greeted me and offered me coffee and took my bag up to my room. He provided me with helpful instructions and led me to my room, which was so clean and breathtaking. As soon as I walked into my room, I noticed how spacious it was and how beautiful the bathroom was. And that view… when walking out of the balcony, you see the beautiful vineyard that was so serene. When I came downstairs, David offered a wonderful wine tasting of the inn’s wines - they were all delicious (ended up buying a few bottles). The inn is a short distance from all the delicious wine country restaurants. In the morning, I was greeted with pastries from Bouchon Bakery, fresh fruit, and fresh juice - it was such a delight and a wonderful stay - I’d recommend staying at this inn to all my friends. Thanks so much, The Setting Inn, David, and team!

My husband and I stayed at this lovely inn when COVID first started. We had to travel from Portland to the area for a few days of work and I'm so thankful I found this beautiful place! The manager David was exceptional! He was in contact with us from the moment we booked our stay until we arrive back home. He was very sweet and helpful...and even brought delicious red wine to our room when we arrived! Very thoughtful!
The inn was so, so, so very lovely. Gorgeous property! It's so well cared for and thoughtfully laid out. The room we stayed in had the most comfy bed - we slept like babies. Our room was on the second level and had a private balcony and with the clear skies, we could see stars forever! It was so lovely just to sit together, sip wine, talk, and enjoy a peaceful few nights after working all day.
The bathroom (and the whole room) was fantastically clean! The large tub was a blessing after a long day - great for a soak and relaxation. I even loved the toiletries so much that I bought some of the brand's @Lather shampoo, conditioner, and body wash when I came home!
The breakfast was so yummy! We enjoyed it so much that we drove out to the bakery and picked up some more pastries and bread. Seriously, go to the bakery and grab some extra treats. You won't regret it!
I had actually forgotten to write my positive review until today (so sorry!). My husband decided we needed another visit to this inn and booked another few days. Again David came through with amazing service. Wow! I am so impressed with this manager - what a true gem! He has such amazing passion for his guests. I appreciate David very much for remembering us!
I cannot wait to stay at this property again. We arrive later this week and we are both so very excited to greet David again and to further explore the inn and surrounding areas! This time we are visiting mostly for pleasure, but with the inn's great WiFi connection, we can also do some work.
