The floors are wood which is different from other hotels. What sucks is when someone drags furniture across the floor you hear it and feel it. You can hear it coming from surrounding rooms and the room above. Also, I prepaid for parking only to find out it was in a free public parking structure not attached to the hotel at all.
Corner Tower Suite 530 is the best room in downtown Napa. Great vibe, views and vantage-point. Huge soaking tub with hand-wand overlooking the main drag and hills in the background. Meticulously maintained property, white glove clean rooms etc., great service and food.
Our stay was during the pandemic protocols. The Napa Andaz is located centrally in downtown Napa. It was very, very clean and nicely designed, & fresh. For a dog-friendly establishment, it was exceptional. $20 self-parking is not owned and operated by Andaz, but in an insecure publicly accessible building behind the building. The parking lot feels old & unclean (there was an abandoned car on risers on one floor) including the elevator. To get to the parking structure, walk behind the elevators to a side door leading to the back behind the patio. During our entire stay, this door was unlocked & open. While we were there, we saw people loitering in the parking lot, including people smoking and skateboarders. This includes where the valet cars are parked that is not gated or controlled in any way. The Napa Andaz lobby is small, and has a small cafe to get basic coffee, smoothies, and pastries. The common areas are clean and well-lit but dark. In the back behind the elevators were seating areas and (closed during pandemic) restaurant. On the second floor, the patio is very nice with a central firepit, bar, & separated seating areas, including an outdoor computer station with a privacy curtain. The food and drinks were of good quality & had a good selection. We stayed on the 4th floor with had a view of the patio but noise, including loud music, could reach the room. The room was also good, nice & clean, with new finishings, a beautiful overhead shower head, a free-standing tub, & a fireplace in the wall separating seating room and bedroom. There was no hooks or closet near the front door which was odd. We have stayed at other Andaz locations which have all felt individually unique, lux, and special. While we would say the Andaz is very good and nice, the design of the Andaz, and the amentiies did not feel unique, lux, or special and we would rate this below our experiences at other locations in the brand. it was not particularly busy during the work week, the hotel elevators have markers for people to wait & request only one-party use them at a time. There was PPE available at the front door, and at every elevator landing. The elevators moved quick and we never really waited too long. There is grass right across the street with garbage cans for dogs (leashed) to do their business. Pet fee $150/stay. During this time, we unfortunately were also disappointed to see the Nazi symbolism associated with a Hyatt property which discourages continued patronage…
Hotel is modern and on the Downtown strip so there are plenty of things to do. Downtown has a good vibe, friendly, open air dining. Restaurants are fairly easy to get reservations and wine country all around.
My room was beautiful - I had my own balcony, large living room, a two-sided fireplace, and a deep-soaking bath next to the bed. The entire hotel was beautiful, food was offered, staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was very clean as well. Definitely looking forward to my next stay!
