Silverado Resort and Spa is a luxury resort in the heart of the world-famous Napa Valley Wine Country. Whether you come to the Northern California area for relaxation, adventure or business, find it here. Located just an hour north of San Francisco, Silverado is tucked away from the city while still being close to the Bay Area action. The soothing, full-service spa sets the stage for relaxing comfort, offering massages, facials, manicures, pedicures and more. But there's more to Silverado Resort and Spa than just soothing stays. Two PGA championship golf courses, which are overseen by World Golf Hall of Fame member, former lead golf analyst for NBC Sports, and resort co-owner Johnny Miller, 13 lighted tennis courts, and biking and hiking trails on-site ensure excitement at every corner. And thanks to its Napa Valley Wine Country location, it's all close to more than 400 wineries. The fine and casual dining within the resort's restaurants pair nicely with local wines.

We stayed in the cottage one bedroom suite during our wedding weekend in Napa. This is a really nice place. If you are looking for a suite for your wedding party to get ready and be together for the day this is a great place! We stayed in the cottage one bedroom suite which had a king bed, full length mirror, a kitchen and living room big enough for our group to all be there and snack on a charcuterie tray with mimosas and get our hair and make up done with the natural light from the large patio door and perfect full length mirror to see our wedding attire. The only recommendation is to have room service late night. The only place to get something to eat after 6pm is the lobby bar with a limited menu which is really busy with hungry guests.

I wish I could give this property a higher review… it is beautiful and the location is stunning. Unfortunately, that’s where the good things about Silverado end and where everything else begins to fall apart. After arriving late (near midnight), I had to help my bellman find the room. Once we found it, the room is dated with wood cracked and baseboards in need of repair. As I jumped into bed around 1am, I was hoping to get a good rest for my meetings that started the next day. Around 5am, I wake up thinking there’s no way they could be doing what I’m hearing at this time of the morning… mowing the lawn, yet indeed they were! Just 20 feet from my front door they were mowing the lawn at 5am! I quickly called the front desk and the woman I spoke to had no idea how to answer. She consulted a co-worker who said that was part of the HOA and they had no control over the lawn mowing schedule. So after getting about 4 hours of sleep, I got up, listened to mowers shout at each other over the roar of the mowers and started the day. Once in the conference center, I was so excited to see colleagues I hadn’t seen in years. Right in the middle of a presentation by one of our guest speakers, loud music started playing right outside the conference room… so loud in fact, everyone looked at each other and was in amazement that here we are trying to have a conference yet the music is so loud, it’s distracting. It ends up being John McEnroe, the tennis player who apparently has a band and sings covers! No doubt that was a cool moment when we learned who it was, but all the hotel could say was, “…we’re sorry for the oversight in scheduling” as he played on, song after song, while we were trying to hear each other share questions of our guest speaker. That evening after dinner, I thought, “Surely I’ll get a good rest since they won’t be out mowing the lawn tomorrow…”, yet here I am at 5am hearing the same alarm clock that I can’t begin to put in words how frustrated I am…

Couldn't check us in on time. Vacant concierge desk. Dirty cottage suite, filthy Grill Restaurant (flies everywhere inside and out). Front desk had line almost out the door as they were "training staff" on busy guests. I can't think of anything which worked well. Expensive but well below average in every category. Don't spoil your Napa Valley vacation by staying here. I felt badly for staff as they wanted to do better but seemed poorly led, unmotivated, didn't know how to help and were either poorly trained or not trained at all. Try somewhere else.

The hotel looks the part and has some nice amenities, but we just didn't really feel the love from the place. This does look like a nice place to say if your are golfing. The bar wasn't even open during the week, what' up with that?!

Got a one bedroom cottage last minute as friend and I were driving around northern CA exploring towns on a spontaneous getaway. Good front desk staff at check in. Got 2 nights. Enjoyed the pool chairs and pool. A kid puked in the pool so that was that, hah. Did not eat there but was central to restaurants in Yountville and Napa. Good view of golf course from balcony of cottage. Cons: The living room had old food crumbs and popcorn on the couches and floor when we got to the room. Called housekeeping the next morning (didn't want to bother them in the evening) at 9am and were told they'll take care of it. Come 2pm, and still the room is filthy. Called again, no answer. Called operator. This woman with not a great attitude answered and said her name was Maria. TL;DR She has zero skills in customer service. Said: "well, that's housekeeping." So once I asked what she wants to do about them not answering the phone, and us having checked into a filthy cottage, she repeated, "that's housekeeping." I advised her that we would either need the room cleaned now, or need to be moved into a new cottage. She said "fine, I'll call them." And hung up. Housekeeping called me back in a few minutes, and about 30 minutes later sent someone to vacuum up the couches and floor. Day 3, check out. Got a text that if we text the number back, we will get the invoice emailed to us directly. Did that. Hours later, no invoice. Call the resort and get Maria again. When I ask about the missing invoice, she says, verbatim "well, I mean... it's supposed to be 24 hours... sooooo...." hahahaha I have never had anyone so unskilled work at customer service before and I have traveled around the world alone and with friends. We thanked her and disconnected. Texted the number back after a few more hours, and they informed me they didn't have an email on file for us so can't send an invoice until I send them an email address. Done and done, Kari took care of it just fine. Maria could've easily been more helpful over the phone, both times we interacted with her. Maybe she's having a bad few days. But her job.... I mean... is customer service. She's the voice of your resort as she is the operator answering the phones. Either she needs remediation training in how to do that job, or find a new job where her bad attitude finds a better fit (not in customer service).
