Excellent location across the street from Wine Train and just a few minutes walk to Oxbow Market. Friendly and accommodating staff. Room seems recently updated with nice amenities. Very clean and comfortable room. Love the Starbucks in room, Splenda as a sweetener option and real creamers - not the powdery stuff!

This hotel is still going strong after my last visit 8 years ago and must be one of the best family options in Napa Valley. The room was clean and well maintained. Its location close to Oxbow Market is a big plus with several fine Napa establishments having outposts there: Model Bakery & Gott's. The town of Napa is also a bit cooler than towns further North up the valley so the town acts as a good base for those who wish to explore wineries in Napa & Sonoma.

Whereas most great hotels have nice on-premise restaurants to complement their guests' experiences, the only great thing about The Westin Verasa is it's Michelin Star restaurant La Toque - which offers an absolutely fabulous vegetable tasting menu. As for the hotel itself, there are several important positives that make it, on it's own merits, an attractive place to stay. And, unfortunately, several key negatives that may make you wish to go/run elsewhere, depending on your priorities. First the positives: 1) Great location, right across the Napa wine train station and a plethora of amazing dining options on-site (as previously mentioned) and a few minutes stroll to nearby Oxbow Public Market (Model Bakery, Hog Island Oyster, Gott's Roadside, and many many more top rated places). 2) Nice, large rainfall shower stall. 3) AC air vents positioned such that they don't annoyingly blow air directly at you. 4) Plentiful and easily accessible outlets via modules mounted on night tables and the desk - a great convenience. 5) Two types of pillows, one firm and another soft, provided without any special request. 6) Plentiful and complimentary garage parking. Now the negative: 1) The receptionist recognized my platinum status, but wouldn't give me the "guaranteed" 4 pm late checkout. Instead, she offered 1:30 pm, saying that late checkouts depend on availability. She didn't understand that 4 pm is guaranteed for platinum and above, and only resorts and convention properties are exempt from offering this guarantee. I very much hate asking or arguing for these things which I'm supposedly "entitled" to, and I blame Bonvoy and hotel management much more so than well meaning staff at individual properties, for not better educating and more strictly enforcing their swiss cheese policies. 2) No upgrade to a better room for a platinum member, despite an abundance of availability on their reservation webpage/app right before, at, and after check-in. Again, Bonvoy is truly value-less and full of made-up benefits that are rarely provided. 3) One of the bath towels was dirty - I mean, it literally had black dirt mark on it. 4) The door security latch was stuck, and couldn't ... well ... latch. 5) One of the lamp shades were tilted. One of the securing arms were broken. 6) There was a lot of dust on surfaces that require just a little tiny bit more effort for the housekeeper to go over with a rag. The more easily accessible areas of the same surfaces were dust-free and clean. The sad part is that only a very slight additional effort and one or two more seconds would've been needed to clean the entire surface. 7) Whenever the AC was off, I could quite clearly hear my neighbor that was on the side of the wall with a connecting door. 8) Recessed light can in bathroom sticks out of the ceiling. 9) No lounge. On balance, this was a marginally acceptable place to stay, considering that we did so mostly on a credit card free night certificate. The thing that made it much better was the convenience of dining and wining at La Toque. However, I would never never never actually pay $600+ a night for a standard room in this place. Never. That is, unless they actually start providing the late checkouts and upgrade benefits to Platinum+ member as they are supposed to do, without struggle and arguments, which I would bet a fortune they never will.

I really wanted to stay here because I thought that it would be a real treat for our nonprofit board. I booked a stay for ten of my board members and much of my experience has been poor due to lack of follow up. We spent close to $15,000 and from the beginning of this process had inconsistent follow up with Misty. Even though I submitted my Bonvoy Titanium number on my contract, I have not been able to have my stay credited to my account. The reservations were so messed up that we didn’t have the number of rooms reserved available and now I’m trying to sort out the mess they’ve made with my reservation. One my first night I was asked to vacate one room for another and they even tried to place me in the worst room they have that wasn’t even the category that I reserved. The suite looked like something from the 70’s and overlooked the worst scenery of any hotel I’ve stayed. So I ended up waiting in the lobby for hours while they found a replacement that I was subsequently kicked out of. Overall just a poor experience and I would recommend so many other places that offer better customer service including the Carneros Resort, Sonoma Mission Inn, Meritage, Hotel Villagio…hotels have become so expensive and I think customer service has declined at hotel chains over the past two years. I won’t stay at this Westin again.

Dear DrMaJones, We are delighted to have been your chosen hotel during your recent stay in Napa. It was truly a pleasure to serve you. We appreciate your business and value your honest feedback. Your valuable feedback helps identify areas of opportunity for us to improve the guest experience. We certainly fell short on our promise to deliver renewal during your stay. Please accept my most sincere apologies regarding your underwhelming experience. It was certainly not a typical experience here at Westin Verasa Napa and also not the renewing experience we strive to provide our guests. I have passed your feedback to our Leadership team to review and follow-up internally. We will use the feedback as a teachable moment and continue brainstorming ways we can exceed our guests' expectations. We recognize these are unusual times and thank you for staying at the Westin Verasa Napa.

I have stayed dozens of times at the property for work purposes. At this point they have lost the plot with room rates running from $450-1,000 a night any day and all year. The hotel is barely 3 star and simply does not deliver a guest experience to command those prices. They provide almost no service. For example after a cross country flight they did not know how to allocate me a room at check in. Really? I am a Titanium Bonvoy member and repeat guest at this hotel. They tell me to come back in a while... No offer of a drink or any recognition of my inconvenience. Some 20 minutes later I inquire again as 2 people work on my room. Finally, they find a room but no upgrade was offered though I was staying 1 week. This is in stark contrast to previous visits and the hotel is not busy at all. Pathetic! Here are some shortcomings to consider. 1. The service at breakfast is beyond slow. It is very hard to be seated. They have no urgency to seat you. Everyday you eat there the experience will be different degrees of miserable as they are short staffed and slow paced. 2. The rooms are average and dirty. Now most are suites but the furnishings are more Fairfield Inn or Embassy suites range. During my 1 week stay a paperclip and rubber band in the middle of the floor were never vacuumed up. Trash removal was ad hoc and my sheets were never changed for the whole week. Truly 1 star. 3. Some rooms are loud the windows are not soundproof. 4. The rain shower has little water pressure. 5. The curtain roads are set far off the walls letting light in. Thus, room are bright in the morning. 6. The valet service erratic so use self parking. 7. The laundry service is erratic. You don't always get your items back the same day. 8. The laundry on the second floor is often in disrepair and, as such, you cannot use it either. 9. The gym is very small. 10. The Bank bar is wildly expensive and the staff are unhappy. They make no effort to acknowledge guests once seated for a $20 cocktail or glass of wine. Having the staff acknowledge you is simply asking too much. I always had to prompt them to come to me despite the bar having 2 bartenders on no more than 3 guests most times I sat at it. This is shameful. 11. The internet is spotty and slow. This hotel does have a solid location but their shameless gouging price policy suggests they mistook themselves for the Four Seasons or Mandarin Oriental which they are not. This property is a complete rip off and a very poor guest experience.

I have to be admit that I was a bit nervous booking at the Westin after my last trip to Victoria Canada last summer. No need to worry at the Westin Napa Valley. The hotel is so well located, the rooms are spacious and clean and the staff are all incredible. We picked a 2 bedroom suite and we received a corner unit. It was magnificent! We did have an issue when we arrived where we were told the room configuration would be slightly different but hotel management provided us with a few options to help rectify. They were great and responsive and I have no complaints at all with how they handled this communication misunderstanding. I would highly recommend the Westin Napa Valley and will be returning one day soon. Congratulations to all of the staff and management for your tremendous focus on customer experience.

Having chosen to spend 3 nights in Napa at the start of our holiday, we considered months ahead where we might stay. We toyed going to one of the top luxury establishments (maybe the new Four Seasons in Calistoga, Bardessono in Yountville or a return to Meadowood) but the suite prices at all of these were eye-watering, so we decided to return to the more modest but perfectly OK Westin and were happy we did. Let’s be honest, hotel prices are dizzyingly high right now almost everywhere but the Westin rates seem reasonable in this context. We paid around $550-600/ night for a premium 1 bedroom suite. But of course if you are paying a third of the prices charged by the premium places round here, it won’t be as swanky or well-staffed as these, so we need to be realistic with some of our expectations in this post-Covid world, which is having such major impact on the service sector. The suite is well-sized though not luxurious and was more than adequate for our stay. We like the outdoor restaurant near the pool for breakfast though the food is average. As other guests have said, the hotel is well-placed in Napa. In a peaceful part of town but a very easy walk to other restaurants and so forth. Personally I am not mad on Napa town itself so when I return I will choose one of the other towns in the area to stay in but for a reliable and reasonably-priced stay the Westin is a good choice.

We were at this hotel primarily because of the Brian Culbertson Napa Jazz Festival. It was the perfect venue as the courtyard provided an excellent space for 2 hours of afternoon jazz and more than enough space for wineries to come to the hotel allowing the guests to sample their wines. The hotel is also within walking distance of Napa town centre. Room was spacious although where we were situated we had the constant hum of large (I believe air conditioning units). The bonus is the underground free car parking and a very nice pool. The only disappointment was a poor and expensive limited choice of food at lunchtime (our package with the Jazz Festival included a very average buffet breakfast) and as with so many hotel and restaurants there appeared to be a shortage of staff. There was also an issue with our final bill where we had been overcharged on our room rate and it only took the involvement of Te'Joni Williams, the very efficient Front Office Supervisor, to eventually resolve the issue. Overall though, it is a well situated modern hotel and well positioned for both Napa town centre and the many surrounding wineries.

We stayed for four days to attend my granddaughter’s birthday party. The room was spacious and beautiful and the service was outstanding. We didn’t eat in the room, but we had a full kitchen with everything you would need to prepare a meal. There is a beautiful saltwater pool and hot tub that my son really enjoyed. The staff was so helpful and friendly and I felt very well taken care of. This was the second time we stayed here and it’s the only place I want to stay when we visit Napa. It is conveniently located within walking distance of restaurants and the wine train. I absolutely love this hotel.

PROS: The hotel is greatly located in the heart of Napa close to all good restaurants and bars. Rooms are comfy and clean and the staff very friendly. As a matter of fact, I had some issues with the room and they did everything to resolve it and finally moved me to another room. CONS: Breakfast is OK, nothing extraordinary. I'd recommend Oxbow Market for finding some tasty breakfast options. Also, do not go to this hotel during the BottleRock festival if you are not going for that festival. Hotel guests, who are mostly there for the festival could be very noisy. In conclusion, though, we are looking forward to going back there as soon as we can.
