Detailed Reviews
My family and I just had a great time staying at the Giant Redwoods RV camp. The facility is top notch in every way. From the manicured grounds to the modern amenities and professional management I highly recommend Giant Redwoods RV camp. The location is excellent for exploring the Humboldt Redwoods and the Ave of the Giants. We definitely plan on returning during a warmer part of the year so that we can take full advantage of the swimming hole.

The entire experience with our friends staying in 2 RV campsites and my husband and I staying in a clamping Cabin was top notch. The campground was clean and well kept with friendly and helpful staff. But what I really want to talk about is the clamping cabin. We were SO impressed of the well thought-out design and amenities the cabin actually provided. From the placement of electrical outlets, to the furniture, small fridge, microwave, decorations, smart tv, and the ambience of an electric fireplace. The bunkbeds added extra space for our luggage and high enough to slide boxes of our supplies under without taking cabin space. There is no running water in the cabin, but we were provided our own key and private super clean bathroom complete with shower not too far from the cabin (50 yards). My only suggestion would be to add a small fold-down shelf in the bathroom for personal items. I would highly recommend this clean inviting Campground to all campers. We will be back. PS the private beach is a convenient walk but unfortunately this year water was extremely low. We can't wait to be back and enjoy this campground feature as well....Great Place.

Just off highway 101 tucked away in the Big trees and nestled up along the ELL River is a very clean, Quite, relaxing RV Park… has full hook ups and we had water electric and cable, with a generous site. We had our friends next to us and experienced a great experience at the park… walking distance to the River…
We have stayed there before, and since we are about 45mins away, The Giant Redwood and Cabins RV resort has become our go to RV park to hick off our travels and to just escape to peaceful, relaxing weekend away from home.
I recommend staying here and see what peace y’all can find.

I stayed there for 4 days. My children were camping at Hidden Springs Campground 3 minutes away.
We were told when they wanted to come out and visit that they charged 5 dollars a person and 5 dollars per car. Each day they were there. As far as I know our reservation amount was not for the amount of people in your RV. They were just visiting. I saw a lot of kids with parents. I doubt they got charged per person. They were going to use the showers or bathrooms, they were closed. Then I found out the gates lock at 10 and open at 7. I had an emergency with my grand baby at the campground at 6 a.m. and could not get out. The number that was supposed to get ahold of the host.. went to voice-mail. They failed to explain how to get out of the gate. A handout should be given to each reservation about important information when you check in.. Not going back.

We happened upon this campground when joining some friends for a few days during Covid and were so pleasantly surprised. We stayed in cabin number one and loved it! Spacious and comfortable with a lot of privacy. Our six-year-old son loved the place as he was able to ride his bike everywhere and was surrounded by other kids the whole time. The Eel river is just a short walk across the campsite. We’d come back.

Pros: was able to get a camp site last minute
Cons: was harassed the second we parked by a guy staying at the campground who apparently “worked there” but was not working at the time but felt the need to walk over immediately and tell us to move our van to the gravel area that was occupied with picnic tables. He asked my girlfriend to help him move the tables that he “forgot to move earlier”. He said something condescending regarding grass preservation and I obliged to avoid further confrontations.
This is more of a community of people staring at each other camping than a campground. I felt eyes on us the entire time and given the sheer volume of campgrounds along the 101 I wouldn’t stay here again. If you are looking for privacy this isn’t the place for you.

Fantastic grounds though small. Everything beautifully maintained. Had a great interaction with almost all the staff except one woman who was a bit over the top on “rules” that aren’t printed in the brochure with official rules. She was on patrol every night that’s for sure so....secure? Otherwise staff was very friendly and accommodating. You can tell they put in a lot of work to keep this place up. The road leading in just goes through a run down river community so not that scary at all. And you can definitely smell pot growing near by but you are in Mendocino County and for us relative “locals” it’s not strange at all. Do research your spot. Our full hook up spot a bit small for our trailer size. Saw non full hook up sites had much more space. Our fault there and lesson learned as we didn’t need full hook up and would have preferred the space.

The park is beautiful, clean and well-maintained. The views of the Eel River and surrounding woods greatly added to the experience. The manager Vicki was helpful and friendly. The location is perfect-literally right next door to the Avenue of the Giants! We really appreciated the hook ups and even had good TV reception, which is unusual at a campground. We would highly recommend the Giant Redwood RV Park to anyone looking for a nice place to camp.

Our whole experience was excellent. Received a prompt call back to make a same day reservation and process was fast and simple. The RV park was one of the nicest we have every stayed at. Clean, quiet, with big trees and beautiful river. The dump station was the cleanest I have ever used. Would definitely stay here again.

This is one of the best RV parks I have ever been to. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the park and facilities are very well maintained. The park is also very secure with a single entrance and exit and the entire property has a privacy fence. Very close to the Redwoods visitor center and several groves of redwoods. The park is right on the river and my family enjoyed a day of swimming. We will definitely return!
