All the cottages were clean and beautifully decorated. Tranquility and leisure is what I experienced while walking and enjoying the babbling stream that runs through the property. Played horseshoes boccie ball enjoyed a game of darts, and visiting with family sitting on the patios.

I return to La Honda Park every year with a group of friends. We bring our kayaks and spend one or two days at the beautiful Utica/Union Reservoir, a day of hiking and always a few days of wine tasting. Waking up at La Honda to the sound of the water fall and meandering creek that runs through the entire property is sublime. At the end of each adventure we return for a swim in the pool, wine & Bocce Ball or horse shoes, then amble on into the delightfully whimsical barn for pool, foos ball, darts or sit out on the deck with the barn doors wide open and listen to the creek until its time for a restful sleep in one of the charming cottages. I could not recommend La Honda Park more highly for any kind of gathering or a couple's get away. Jenny and Bar, the owners, have created a perfect Sierra Foothills wonderland with a combination of quality craftsmanship and taste that rivals any experience I have had in Sonoma county wine country, where I live. The Cottages at La Honda Park are set in a copse of trees that are run through with beautiful gardens and a gurgling stream. When we arrived, Jenny came right out to greet us and made us feel as we were her very own house guests. She and Barr treated us as treasured guests though out our stay. The cottages are immaculately kept and have thick, fluffy bath towels, feather pillows, layers of cotton comforters, and a gas wood stove for heat. Jenny's husband Barr, invited us to use the pool kitchen and barbeques while we were there, and we took him up on it both nights that we stayed as no place in town could compete with the quaint brook, garden lights, and outdoor patio sets that La Honda has. My husband and I enjoyed a game of pool in the game room that also overlooks the stream and played a game of horseshoes in the garden while our friends walked their dog along the paths that line the property. This was the absolute best place that we've had the pleasure to stay at and cannot wait to go back again!…

Just got back from another weekend here. If anything it's gotten nicer - the barn is now a gameroom, with a deck over the creek, big tv, fridge, bar, lots of games, pool table, etc. The pool is sparkling, the creek burbled all night, and as usual the house and cabins were immaculate and beautiful. This time we met the owners, who were fixing things up as we pulled in the first day; they're wonderful, kind folks, and excellent hosts. We're thinking about canceling our annual camping trip, and just having a long weekend for all our friends here instead!

This place is great! The owners are nice and accommodating and the property is beautiful and the communal game room/barn is wonderful to hang out in. Our room was picturesque and comfortable as well as private. Overall, a great place to stay for couples or families. Looking forward to going back!

The six little cottages, plus a large main house are so charming and in a lovely park like by a creek. Each of the cottages seem to be in great condition with everything working perfectly and the towels and linens top quality. You feel like you're visiting family, we made friends with all the other guests staying there. The grounds, feature, a small play area for kids, a swimming pool, a large room with games, TV and a pool table. The is a large well stocked community kitchen for everyone to use and outdoor bbq's and tables. The creek is great and it's very dog friendly, located just minutes from Murphys. Jeanne and her husband couldn't be better hosts. There is a lot of privacy and the best rooms are Grandma's or Ripplewood (next to the creek); we'd stay again, just not in the summer--it's hot and the only thing holding me back from 5 stars is the no air conditioning. Great value for the price.…

Jeanne is a model for anyone in the hospitality industry, naturally gracious. Gorgeous setting , with all kinds of old-timey extras: barn filled with fun games, many places to sit and admire Angel's Creek, bocce ball, horseshoes. Old miner's cabin on site. We stayed in both the Poolroom and Ripplewood cottages. Both immaculate and delightfully furnished, but we preferred Ripplewood by far. We were worried about the heat, being used to Bay Area weather, but lucked out this trip. However, the lack of air-conditioning would make us reluctant to go in the summer. Of course, you can always cool off in the lovely pool or creek itself. The Ripplewood cottage needs new shades. The window shade facing the creek doesn't go all the way down. These are merely quibbles with paradise! We'll definitely stay again.…

We were so pleased by our first visit to The Cottages at La Honda Park, we are certain to return. The property is absolutely beautiful, and only 5 minutes outside of Murphys. The cottages are spread out on the property, so there is lots of privacy. The cottage has everything you need, but if you want more, there is also a full-sized communal kitchen and a barn with more communal socializing opportunities (pool table, foosball table, etc.) Jenny and Barr are very hospitable and helpful. It's especially nice that the cars are left in a lot at the edge of the property, so no "car noise" outside your windows!

We have stayed a number of times here. This is the the best place to relax and get away from it all. Your only a mile from main street Murphys. The owners Barr and Jenny welcome you with open arms. Angels creek that runs through the property is so soothing. We always stay in the Ripplewood cottage. I highly recommend this place on your next visit to Murphys. :)))))))
