I came to stay at this Hotel as I was interviewing with Facebook. The General Manager Mohammed provided superb service and worked with me with my check in and check out times. When I had an issue with my room he came up and took care of it immediately and empathized making me feel at ease. I have stayed at many Hotels and have never heard any Manager use empathy. I will recommend this Hotel to all my friends and will stay here in the future.

This hotel is very nice, clean, and accommodating. The decor was nice and simple. The hotel staff was very friendly and ensured that our reservation and room was updated accordingly. No complaints.The parking spots are very compact. A nice quiet hotel to stay at. We stayed the night for a concert.

I used to live in the Palo Alto area so I suggested our daughter and son-in-law stay here with their two year old. They made the reservation online in the morning before the two hour drive to the Bay Area. My son-in-law (just 30 years old) had just completed a difficult round of chemo and this was their first trip to see family since he was diagnosed. On the way to the hotel they discovered that they needed to urgently return to their home so they called the hotel and requested to cancel their reservation. Keep in mind. It had just been made a few hours before. They were told NO. Too bad. We are going to charge you anyway. Which they did. They were shocked. Since they were only minutes away from the hotel when they learned they had to turn back, they decided to stop in and talk to the front desk personally to request a cancellation refund. Still...the staff was totally unsympathetic and refused. I sent the general manager a personal email explaining their situation. They are a young family and the simple gesture of crediting them the $139+tax back would be so kind. NO response. Nothing!!
This isn't about the money. I'm happy to refund the kids because it was my suggestion they trust a holiday inn property. It's about kindness. It's about the goodwill a company gets when they treat people well. We've been holiday inn customers for years. Not anymore. There are many hotel options in any travel situation. Holiday inn, especially this one, will never get a dime from us again.
That said...be careful. What you see in their photos in no way reflects the yucky feeling you get when you arrive at this place.

milanjensen, We are very sorry to hear about your son and hope all is well this him and your daughter. Also we are sorry about the No Show charge that we had charged your son in law. But unfortunately we can't give a refund back. You son in law was fully aware of the cancellation policy before he has guarantee the booking at our hotel. We do have a 24 hour in advance cancel policy. When your son in law called he said that he is at the airport boarding a flight to leave the city of an emergency. We were very surprise to see him pull into the hotel 45 minutes later. We get many people trying to cancel their reservation, and also give us many excuses in why they are wanting to cancel. As I have stated to your son we do not want to charge you, and we will go ahead and give you a full refund if you can get us some documentation and we will be happy to assist you, we cannot just take your word for it. We would like to work with you but you do not want to see to give us any type of documentation. We are definitely willing to work with you and your daughter and son in law but you have to be willing to work with us. I am sorry that you feel cheated but that is our policy and we will stick by it. If we give you that type of leverage then its only fair we do that to every guest not just you. Again if are willing to give us some type of proper documentation then by all mean we will give you back a 100% refund, but without that we can't do anything about that. The hotel is comfortable and clean. The breakfast doesn't include any fresh vegetables. Another big problem is related to safety deposit. Already 1 month passed as we left the hotel but they didn't returned back our safety deposit on 200 USD. So don't recommended at all.

Your observations about the breakfast and safety deposit have been noted. We are sorry that you are still waiting for your deposit to be refunded to you. Deposit in our system is simply a hold which automatically gets issued back upon checkout. This is not something we have to do manually because it may cause human error. Nevertheless, we have verified with the team and looked into our reports to ensure this is issued back. We understand that it's been more than a month that you left the hotel. However, the only point we can think of is that the refund was initiated to an international card, it is likely that it is taking slightly longer than usual for the credit to show up on your statement. Unfortunately, we, the hotel, do not have the means to speed this process up. My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We booked the king room with a sofa, which is actually a suite. The room was huge as was the bathroom, and it was very clean. The hotel looks like it has been refurbished recently. The breakfast was varied and plentiful with hot and cold choices. We couldn’t have been more pleased. Our room faced the back of the hotel and was nice and quiet. As the hotel is on a main road, I would request a quiet room not facing the street.

Place looks good.... until you stay there. Looking for a good night's sleep? Hospitality? This is not the place for that... and more.
I recently stayed here for a week, hoping this place would give me good access to the surrounding area while providing a nice place to sleep. Yes, the place is located centrally to the places that I need to be at, and it's somewhat clean. But there are many things that you start noticing when you stay here:
- They charged me a $300 deposit, and then when I extended my stay by a day, they charged me an additional $100 deposit without telling me. That's $400! What type of shady business practice is this? - Staff is very mixed, and they do not communicate. I came in during the weekend, greeted by a tired indian man who was dressed very unprofessionally. No smiles, no friendliness, just uncaring and tired. A little into my stay, I needed to extend my stay by a day and I let the man know, and he said he would take care of it (I had the extra day reserved too). He seemed not to care or do anything, which ended up being true. When I was originally supposed to check out, a lady calls me accusing me of not checking out in time, and I had to explain, once again, that I extended my stay. However, during the weekday there was an asian man who was super awesome, exactly what you would expect for spending $300/night for a basic room.
Rooms are terrible: - Room is right on a major road, can every single car pass by. You can even hear it with the TV on. I stayed at the nearby Marriott courtyard on the same busy street and never had this issue. - Horribly bright blue light shines through the window all night long. Curtains do not cover it all the way either. This is very bad for getting sleep as blue light signals to your brain that it is day time. (See attached pictures) - There's a dirty, industrial roof view outside my window. I can also see into my room neighbors windows from my window (and they into mine). - Wi-fi drops out several times throughout the day. - Cleaners leave the window open, it was really chilly when I was staying, and the room was freezing! - Rooms might appear to be newer and clean, but they are not. They have cheap and quick craftsmanship that you can see in my pictures, with peeling wallpaper, ugly retrofits, and unclean surfaces. - Mold is developing on bathroom ceiling! MOLD! - Can hear every single footstep above and in the hallways! Plus the doors close very loudly, and you can here doors closing across the hallway from inside your room.
Do yourself a favor and slay at the Marriott courtyard just down the street. The rooms there cost about the same, are much more modern, bigger, and upscale, and they actually have nice staff and amenities, unlike this place.

But at the same time I want to make you aware we are looking into all the problem areas that you had discussed. I wish you had given us the opportunity to make things right for you while you were staying with us. If you had notified that you were not happy because of these reason we would have moved you into a room facing the back side. We are a very welcoming and a very clean hotel and it can be read in most of our past reviews by many other guest. We take great pride in keeping a spotless hotel, and I will personally take a look at all these issues and make sure they are taken care of it it needs it. I've stayed at many HI Expresses due to corporate discounts and this one ranks among the best, mainly because of the service. When the rate on my room dropped dramatically, the woman at the front desk said she would consult the manager and she ACTUALLY DID. The next day she recognized me and told me they would reduce my rate. We had a nice, clean, spacious room. They served chocolate milk with breakfast, which was a bonus for my son. Rates are very high because of the area, but I would definitely stay here again.

I remember having a bad experience here in the past but this was the only hotel with rooms available in the area at the last minute last month so I took a chance. It looked different inside and the cleaning and desk staff were great, even with my late night check in and 6:00 AM checkout. Joeclyn confirmed that they've been rebranded and renovated recently and it showed. I'll consider them early on in my search next time.

I am very picky about where I choose to lay my head. Having managed my own properties, I can pick apart most hotels and find faults. Not this one!! Roshan and his team offer exceptional service. Plus, they have a robot who kindly delivers to your room anything you're seeking from the gift shop. Rooms are clean, I usually use my own pillow and blankets when I stay in hotels. Not this one, I felt very comfortable after I did my own inspection. No hesitation when it came to curling up and closing my eyes. Everything was clean. Breakfast was standard and complimentary. Love the cinnamon rolls!! If you are seeking a good nights sleep and are willing to drive into the city. This location is PERFECT!!

No unfortunately we do not offer a shuttle service from the San Jose or from the San Francisco airport. Both airports are a little far away from the hotel. We would recommend either taking uber or a taxi or an airport shuttle from the airport.
