We held our wedding here and it was absolutely magical!! The cabins provided enough space for guests with a beautiful view of the lake. We were within walking distance to walk down and swim with our downtime and you have a beautiful view of the mountain from the shore! We held a dinner at one of the beautiful picnic areas which were also easily accessible by the cabins. The venue itself was so crazy beautiful with the mountain in the background and the trees and ponds on the golf course. Rebecca, the venue coordinator, was sooo helpful prior to the wedding and on the day of!! The rest of the staff also were so nice and helped everything run smoothly! And the food was so delicious!! Highly recommend!!!
Yes, the decor is not HGTV. It is mountain tradition. Fireplace, deck with seating for four in the two bedroom. We enjoyed the location and the kind staff. Things I wish I would have paid attention before booking: no pool, one shower for two bedrooms, reserve the lake view. We did not play golf or tennis but lists of people did during our stay. Kitchen had everything we needed. Yes, we would stay again. Book the spa in advance.
The resort is situated in a beautiful setting but is highly overrated. The chalet was circa 1980 and had too many issues mechanically, lack of comfort, and cleanliness to mention. The bottom line is this resort is marketed as five-star but falls far short of meeting that standard and does not justify the rates charged.
The resort is in a beautiful setting . . It has potential. If you are expecting a timeshare quality resort this is not it . Our "chalet" obviously had not been updated in many years For example the kitchen supplies are substandard. The bathrooms made an old hospital room look good FYI be careful of the kitchen and shower water valves. They are worn out and my hand was scalded. Im sure the cleaning staff would agree . I wouldnt complain but i paid over $500 for my stay
Quiet chalets located on the shores of Lake Siskiyou. Modern comfortable chalets . Beautiful golf course though we did not play. Had dinner at the resort restaurant, Highland House (separate review). Wonderful headquarters for exploring the Mount Shasta area. Jetted tubs in some woodland chalets.
I love this place. The chalets are spacious, comfortable and quiet. They are in a beautiful setting amid trees by Siskiyou Lake. We had a one bedroom chalet. We had a huge king bed. We had a separate living room and a full kitchen. There is a flat screen TV in the living room and the bedroom with cable. The kitchen is stocked with everything. You can walk to the Siskiyou Lake trail and up to the restaurant which is by the golf course. There is an 18 hole golf course and tennis courts here too. We have stayed here a couple of times and will most certainly go back again. Really lovely accommodations.
We were positively surprised by our accommodations. We rented a cabin and it was literally right by Lake Shastina in the trees, down the road from the main building. The cabin was quite big with a living room and kitchen and had air conditioning, which was ideal as it was hot and smoky due to the close by fires. The feel of the place is like a rustic ski resort. Simple but nice and clean. We took a hike by the lake which was beautiful but didn't explore further due to the bad air. Lake Shastina has some esoteric stores and seems kind of new age. I don't think I'll be back. The restaurant at the hotel was average, food more like bar food and over-priced as you might expect in such a location without much else around. Service was lovely and we got to eat outside which was nice despite the bad air (better than COVID). If the air had been better, I might have written an overall better review that would be more just but unfortunately, the smoke made the visit somewhat unpleasant and it's difficult to conjur up happy memories.…
We loved this place! Our chalet (2 bedroom) was comfortable and spacious for two couples. Our room had two twin beds and it was easy to push them together to make a king bed. The chalet was a little outdated, but not a big deal. We spent time paddle boarding on the lake, the guys went golfing and gals went to the spa. All in all, it was a great experience and we are already talking about when we can go back.
I have stayed here several times over the years, always in the "chalets"- these are 1 or 2 bedroom duplexes that include a living room, dining area and kitchen along with a deck. My biggest complaint is that they are so BLAND! I can't even describe the paint and carpet color because it is so blah. A few gallons of paint would make these cabins into real showstoppers! Get rid of the same blah colored bedspread and add some color- bring in that beautiful green of the pines, deep blue of the gorgeous sky, you get the idea! The mini blinds from 1979 need to be replaced with some wooden shutters or blinds and maybe mix up the 3 dull brown pieces of furniture (really- for every 2 brown sets you buy, get another in forest green and mix and match!). The bed was just ok- certainly not the worst I've slept on, but every time one of us rolled over it creaked/groaned and bounced. If new beds aren't in the budget, how about a mattress topper? Don't get me wrong- I'll be back as I enjoy the space and location! But just so much untapped potential!…
The rooms are huge, very cozy cabin-like stay. The view is amazing with beautiful trees everywhere. The bed was huge and comfortable. It was kept very clean. The jacuzzi was super nice. You just leave your room and their are plenty of hiking trails that lead to a beautiful lake. Honestly, it exceeded my expectations. Great place for couples and I hope to return with the whole family.
