We celebrated Mother’s Day at the Captains Inn. The Pelican room was perfect. The view of the marsh is gorgeous and filled with seabirds and a seal or two. We particularly loved the soaking tub after a magnificent meal at the Whole Enchilada up the road. The visit was completed with a kayak on Elkhorn Slough, celebrating with scores of momma and baby seals and otters. It was an unforgettable time.
Our room was great! Perfect in a small area the bed was really stiff but everything else was great except for hearing people around they were very quiet but overall we had a great experience besides that
We spent a wonderful evening at Captain's Inn, Love the collection of wines they had. Our room was in BoatHouse (yellow building) River Front. Beautiful place to visit, we will sure be back. Must to see Sunset
A lovely place to spend a few relaxing days watching wildlife right outside your window (in the boathouse) or exploring the area. Nicely decorated, themed rooms. Attentive Innkeeper. Several very good restaurants in walking distance. I look forward to returning someday.
Overall we had a pleasant stay and thought the room was pretty special, but at this price point, there is some room for improvement: - Check out is confusing. We got different check out times on the website and along with the confirmation email. Once we got in the room, there are 3 different check out times printed and posted! Way to confuse customers and get them to do something wrong, especially when they keep emphasizing extra $$ pay if you check out late. We were told check in was 10:00 am, which is really early for a B&B. - The bed is really noisy. For a nice bed and breakfast, this is pretty funny. - Unclear communication & service around breakfast or "fresh" coffee. There is no breakfast, hot or cold. There is no fresh coffee, but a Keurig machine. There is only one type of coffee capsule, but for teabags, there are many teas to choose from. They leave out bags of chips and Hershey's chocolates, which is a nice touch, but I was hoping there would be at least a simpler breakfast alternative. The above isn't communicated on the website or with the reservation confirmation, and during check in it was so quick and brief that the details and hospitality is lost. (Guests can use the dining area, which includes microwave, large shared fridge, coffee machine, milk & sugar, cute teapots and other non-disposable dining ware, disposable coffee cups, as well as clean dining tables. You can look out into the garden and the detached cottage.) - There are ants in the bath tub area. Also, the faucet leaks a little bit. - The tub is large and very nice, but the shower head design is comical. It does not stay in place, so if the water is on, you have to hold it to avoid splashing everywhere. However, the head doesn't extend long enough for you to reach the faucet. So, good luck turning water on and off or adjusting temperature. Teamwork recommended. Temperature change takes a few moments to adjust and is tricky, so be patient there. Pros: - The unique design of the room allows wide views of the wetland from the comfort of either the sitting chairs or the bath tub. Privacy, in spite the large windows, is easy to manage. - The tiles around the bath is nice, and the toiletries work well. - New fireplace! - Nice touch with music playing when we walked in the room. - The closet is really quaint and cute. Overall the interior design is pleasant.…
