Came from a trip in Hearst Castle. When we arrived, we were checked in. I asked for 2 extra pillows from desk. I was told he can only give me one extra pillow as its the policy. The place was comfortable. A little bit dated. The place was located two blocks away from the main street. As we were on the 2nd floor facing the beach, you can see Morro Rock from our room, which is awesome.
This is a perfect place to stay in Morro Bay. It's low key. It's Motel style so if you go in with that expectation then you will enjoy your stay. The staff were very helpful. I actually extended my stay not once but twice and they were very accommodating. There is laundry on-premises with a washer and dryer. It cost about $5 for a load of laundry. The laundry was only two doors away from my room so super convenient. It is close walking distance to everywhere and easy to drive to and from when going to the store or other areas on the coast. I did a lot of walking around during the day but at night I relaxed at two nearby bars so it was a very quick and easy walk back at the end of the night. It is a very safe area. The bathroom only has a standup shower in the king sized basic room I got and that was perfectly fine. The sink had enough room for me to setup makeup and hair products. TV with direct tv, microwave and small fridge with freezer. Black out curtains. Plenty of plugs. Plenty of room for suitcases and closet room for hanging things with iron board and iron. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There was only one complaint I had and that was the floor could have been a bit cleaner. The walls at times seemed a little thin for noise from other rooms but I hardly noticed that. All in all I am definitely satisfied with my stay and would stay again in the future.…
From the pictures, this looks like a really nice hotel. The bathroom is right at the front door. Literally. The bathroom is so small you can't close the door while 'doing your business'. The floors weren't cleaned the whole time we were there. It is right on the main street which is helpful. You don't have to drive far or leave your car and walk. Oh, also we needed to use the laundry facilities and it was $3 to wash and $2 to dry. Take lots of change if you need to use them. There is no way to get change. I did request a downstairs room and we did get it.
Let me just start off by saying I fully realize I was not staying at the Four Seasons and did not have unreal expectations. I just wanted a clean room with a comfortable bed. The bed was very comfortable but the pillows were overfilled and too hard. The room was ok as far as clean goes and there was a refrigerator, flat screen TV, a small balcony with two chairs beyond their prime, and there was WiFi but it barely worked- if at all. I ended up using my phone as a hot spot. It looks like the rooms were remodeled recently but the workmanship was terrible. There was a big section cut out of my ceiling and it looked like the cut out piece was barely hanging there. I fully expected it to fall on my head in the middle of the night. There was some kind of glue blob smeared all over the wall in the corner. It looked like something was there at one time and fell off and wasn't replaced, not sure on that one. The same glue was smeared all over my headboard-or I sure hope it was glue. I left the next day and was gone for over 10 hours. When I returned to my room, it was not cleaned. I called the front desk and the women who answered kept saying "sorry, sorry, sorry, and nothing else and tried to get me off the phone. I hung up as I was getting no where with her. I minute later a man called the room and immediately began blaming me. He said I didn't put the card out asking for service. I told him there was no card and I didn't see the service card on any of the other hotel room doors and it's a fairly large hotel. When that didn't work, he then blamed me for not being fluent in Spanish and there was a "language barrier." I happen to speak enough Spanish to get by but I didn't even see the maid. I told him, do I have to wait in my room until she comes to clean to tell her what to do? When that excuse didn't work, he then said they were hiring new maids and they were in training and didn't know what to do yet??? Where is the GM? Where is the Director of Housekeeping who should be overseeing new hires? When that excuse didn't work, he offered to come to my room and make my bed and bring coffee for the morning. It was 10:00 at night and I was going to bed because I had to get up early for a race the next morning so I told him No Thank You and that was the end of that. Like I said, I didn't expect the grand treatment, but I did expect the bare basics for $130.00 a night. There are a lot of hotels in the Morro Bay area. Book one of the other ones. This hotel is not service-oriented.…
Need a room with a good location and that is pet friendly. Grounds was clean, well-lighted, clean room upon arrival. Room had a flat screen TV, Microwave, Mini fridge and a wall A/C. While having a pet, being located on Main Street was helpful in walking them early morning or in the evening. Coffee houses two blocks away, a Liquor store across the street, Pizza two to three blocks away, nearby banks and the Embarcadero three blocks away.
