We stayed at the Sea Air Inn for one night on our way from LA to San Francisco after an unexpected AirBnB cancellation a week before our trip and this was the perfect stop. Clean, updated rooms. Quiet area and just a block or so away from restaurants, shops and great views. Would stay here again for sure!
The location of this property is why we booked it - easily walkable to all the shops and restaurants. The obviously recently remodeled room was very clean and attractive, bed was comfortable. (The towels were not recently replaced however and could double as sand paper.) The real issue started when the fog rolled in in the middle of the night and the fog horn goes off every 20 seconds or so for the rest of the night. Even closing the windows did not keep the sound out. Nearly drove me out of my mind. Then our obviously nocturnal upstairs neighbors rolled in and my husband swears they must have been using power tools they were so loud. So we did not get much sleep. Might have been fine if it had been a clear night and we had quiet people in the rooms around us.
I had a great stay, friendly staff and comfy rooms. I would recommend everyone try this hotel for the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms. Rooms look like attention was paid to minor details like ac vent was cleared from dust too
We loved this hotel. Insanely affordable compared to other hotels on our trip. Could hear the sea lions (?) with the window open. Great walkability to restaurants and the water. Can see Morro Rock nicely from here. Nicely renovated rooms - loved the lack of carpet! Refrigerator in the room was nice.
I write this review with a heavy heart. I stayed at The Sea Air Inn for a couple of days about a week ago. While I thought it's self-designation as a "boutique hotel" was not accurate (it's actually a mediocre roadside motel with no amenities), it still met my needs: it was a place to sleep near a location that I was completing research (I am a University Professor working on a project about Morro Rock). While I wasn't impressed by my stay or the lack of hospitality I experienced, it felt safe enough and convenient given it's proximity to the site of my research. I booked again. During my second stay, the "lack of hospitality" I experienced seemed to escalate without reason. I tried to chalk it up to a difference in personalities and didn't take it personally... until I tried to extend my stay by a few days and was finally met with outright animosity. I was informed that I was not welcome to stay any longer, my subsequent booking was cancelled, and I was met with no explanation as to why this was happening despite repeated attempts to get clarity. There was a vague mention of "policy" that guests were "not allowed to stay longer than three days" but no such policy is available either on their website or the AIR BNB profile through which I booked. Frankly, it felt racially motivated. I believe I was profiled and I believe I experienced discrimination. I encourage any would-be guests to think twice about supporting this institution, not only because the family running this place are bigots but also because I ended up at The Harbor House Inn down the street where I found a bigger bed, larger room, view of the ocean, and more channels... for the same price! Apparently things happen for a reason. Don't waste your money supporting these bigots.…
This is a nice Inn very well located near downtown and the beach. The guy at the reception was very nice and helpful with suggestions as where to eat and what to do. Well priced. For $5 extra we got a room with a view !! 2nd floor king size! The room was huge and we had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker! A bargain!
Slum hotel alert. Do not stay here!! Also, front desk looked my straight in my eyes and lied to me, twice! Not good people. There are plenty of hotels in Morrow Bay who won’t treat you like a second class citizen
Do not stay here. Our bed was covered in some sort of feces (see picture). When we called the front desk to complain to change rooms we were presented with two options. 1) CHANGE OUR OWN SHEETS or 2). CHECK OUT. So we checked out ...and were berated by the manager at the front desk during the refund. When we asked for the managers name (several times) he would only reply with “doesn’t matter.” The manager continued to yell at us while we left the office then flipped me off through the window as we went to find another hotel room in the middle of the night. Not only was this the filthiest motels I’ve ever seen, the man at the front desk had no intention of rectifying our complaints. Rather than address our problems he kicked us out of the motel. He would do nothing help us and was extremely rude in the process. This place is horrible. Morro Bay is lovely. Don’t let this place ruin your trip.…
Just set back from the harbour, about a 3min walk actually. Whilst the room didn't have a view of the bay, in fact I don't think any of them do, as soo as you step outside can see Morro Rock. Room felt secure when inside but I couldn't find a safe for my cash and passport. The town was very quiet during my stay in mid September, perhaps it was off season. No waiting at the restaurant though as I was leaving it got busier. I only stayed one night, I was passing through on my way to San Francisco. Would stay again but not sure if would be any longer than one night
It had been over a decade since I've stayed here and I was pleasantly surprised at the renovations. Nice look and color scheme inside and out. Fridge, microwave and plenty of lights with plugs in the one bed room. Comfy nights bed. Great night for winter and close enough to downtown. Def stay again
