We booked a Deluxe King Bay View room #114 which was on the ground floor of the West building. The 400 square foot room was spacious, with a desk, chair, dresser with large flat tv, breakfast table with two padded barrel chairs, a comfortable lounger with ottoman, king bed and an LED type fireplace in the main room. The controls for the fireplace are matte black and hard to find, but they control the heat (goes up to 82 degrees), the color and has a sleep timer. There is only one heating element, so one would have to turn on the regular room heater if super chilly. Also provided is a tower-style oscillating fan. The balcony is partitioned off from the adjoining rooms and has a tall table and two tall chairs to enjoy the bay view. It also comes with aggressive seagulls that immediately swooped down onto the railing and chair when I sat down with my breakfast. Happily, there's a screen on the sliding glass door, so I ate inside. Good curtains blocked all morning light. My favorite part was the large area behind the entry wall which contains a wet bar: small sink, refrigerator, microwave and glasses; full-length mirror, large vanity sink area with a Keurig machine and several flavors of coffee and creamer; toiletries such as lighted make-up mirror, make up removal wipes and towel, conditioning shampoo, lotion and shower cap. Opposite the vanity is the open closet with two folding luggage racks, hair dryer, ironing board and iron. The actual bathroom is fully tiled up to the ceiling and has a shower/bath combo with a retractable clothesline, fan, heated light and incredibly good, bright lighting over a long tiled shelf. No need for the make up mirror with this set up. The breakfast room is on the lower level of the West building and also had an electronic fireplace next to the large window. The continental breakfast offered hard boiled eggs, fruit, cereal, 3 types of coffee, teas, juices, pastries, bread, and an automatic pancake machine. The lady managing the breakfast room kept refreshing the selection. There are also an enclosed deck as well as an glass-walled observation room in the West building. We couldn't enjoy the deck due to the rain, but it both were set up with several seating areas. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Parking seemed plentiful and it was only a few minutes' walk to the South T-Pier for sea otter watching. Disliked · Be aware that room insulation seems minimal and we could hear our neighbors running the shower as well as walking down the hall. We were on the upper level, so I feel bad for the people in the lower rooms.…
Room had a great view of the Rock. Was comfortable and close to everything in Morro Bay so you could just walk to see the sights.. Could have had a little better breakfast but small detail compared to the location and view from the rooms.
We got the 3 floor balcony room, with bay view, room in the east building. Excellent view of the "Morro Rock" and the boats in the harbor, large room. Table and chairs on the balcony, have a glass of wine and enjoy the view. Nice sheltered parking with elevator up to rooms, luggage carts are inside at elevator stops on each floor. They have continental breakfast, not great, but ok. Very helpful, friendly staff.
Morro Bay is our “escape from it all” spot in California. The Blue Sail Inn provides our regular place to stay there. Recommend booking the Estero Room, with a great view to the Morro Rock, a balcony, a large, clean room with modern amenities, and very quiet. Continental breakfast is served every morning. Friendly staff. The hotel is within a short walking distance to everything in Morro Bay. Fisherman’s Wharf is a 3 minute walk away.
Perfect location! Clean rooms, clean parking lot, clean lobby and clean balcony. Great parking and they had carts to take your luggage to the room right there super easy. The staff was fabulous! Melanie and the other front desk ladies were exceptionally accommodating. Almost attached is Dorn's Breakers Cafe that has a really good breakfast and dinner. Our Oceanview room with balcony was so peaceful watching the beautiful moon over the Morro Bay rock the boats and kayaks. We walked from our room to the waterfront and did some shopping. We strolled along Embaraderro enjoyed the shopping and a cocktail. We walked up to their quaint little town. Blue Sail Inn was the perfect place to stay. Perfect location right in the middle of everything you could want to do.
