The hotel is pretty large. I had a room with a bay view and it looks right onto Embarcadero Road and the bay. The room has Keurig coffee machine and small fridge. My room was very clean and nice. I really missed having maid service but staff was always cheerful and gave me towels whenever I asked. (Bring back cleaning of rooms please). The breakfast they offer is ridiculous. You pick a beverage (milk, OJ or Apple Juice) and 2 selections from a choice of cheese stick, a breakfast bar of some type, apple sauce, or a packaged pastry, They really may as well save their money on that offering. But I did have some cheese sticks for flight home. The bed is not very comfortable though. It has no cushion at all. But location, cleanliness and interactions with staff made it a nice stay

It's been a hard year, to say the least, and as with many we needed to get away for a few days. It's been a number of years since we came up to Morro Bay and decided to revisit an old friend, the Blue Sail Inn. Glad we came back! With the COVID restrictions still in place, check-in & check-out is at the outside window. Not a problem as we had arrived around 8 pm so not a line. Got our key and headed over to the East Building across the street. For this trip we booked the Jr Suite. A king size bed, sitting area with couch and chair, fridge and microwave, along with a Keurig Coffee Maker (which we didn't use). These rooms also use to include a gas fireplace, but while the fireplace is still there it has been disabled. Not sure why. It also has a balcony that overlooks the bay and "The Rock." One thing to note about the balcony, when you sit out there you may be visited by a friendly gull or two. I was out reading in the early evening, enjoying the setting sun and beautiful view, when one popped up on the rail to stare at me (See attached picture). Very glad to be back!

Our vacation took us on a route from Palm Springs to Morro Bay along the Pacific Coast Highway...beautiful! After a recommendation from friends, we stayed at the Blue Sail Inn since we were going to staying in Morro Bay and tasting wine in Paso Robles, only a half hour away. First, the rooms are very nice, very clean and well kept. The staff is very nice and accomodating as well. Keep in mind with COVID that they are not doing daily housekeeping and that is more than understandable. The views of Morro Bay and Morro Bay rock are beautiful from your large balcony! You may have a friendly visit on your balcony from one of the local sea gulls who are real hams. The restaurant, Dorn's, is right next door and was our favorite of the entire trip. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and if you like good, fresh seafood, this is your place. We will definitely be back for another stay in the near future!

We were so fortunate to stay in room 301. Not only did we have a gorgeous view of Moro Rock, our balcony was the only one near one of the interestingly beautiful coastal trees. Don’t be fooled by other reviews, it only added to the ambiance. Our balcony was private and made the perfect setting for take out dinners. Beware of the seagulls, they are entertains but brazen. We are headed back in two months.

Horrible customer service and dirty room. Housekeeper barged in our room before check in, despite the do not disturb sign. Stained sheets. Dirty floors. Crusty carpet next to table that seems to either be food or vomit.
