Excellent location for walking to nearby restaurants and the Morro rock, and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was lovely, the bed was comfortable and we slept very well. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend it.

Wow, what an amazing place to stay in Morro Bay!!! We booked our 2 night stay here with our teenagers based on its waterfront location and fantastic customer reviews and we were certainly not disappointed. Our two teens occupied the Marine suite because they each needed their own queen bed and they were quite thrilled by their spacious waterfront accommodation! It was an impressively luxurious and large space. My husband and I occupied the Morro Rock suite which was the furthest back from the water upper unit, but still had a fantastic view of the rock. Our suite was smaller than the kids handicap accessible suite, but it was plenty spacious for us and very well appointed. I like that every suite has a fire place and a nice counter area with a fridge, microwave and sink. You can easily prepare your coffee and simple breakfast in the room and I really appreciated both the fridge and microwave which we used daily (especially during this time of Covid when the guest breakfast room is temporarily closed, understandably). Our patio had 2 chairs and a small table that we enjoyed sitting on in the evening and have a glass of wine and watch the sun set. Another option was a nice bar with 4 stools on the second level facing the water front where we could sit and have wine, or our breakfast or a take away dinner. An additional waterfront option for outside is a lovely gathering area down by the dock with several Adirondack chairs and a couple of bistro tables and chairs, but we didn’t get a chance to enjoy that area. I like the choice that fir such a small Inn, we had multiple choices for enjoying the outdoors to relax. One evening for dinner we got take away from the American Fish company (which I recommend for eating!) and used the nice bistro table with 4 chairs in the kids suite to have a lovely waterfront view for dinner yet in the comfort of our accommodation and safe from Covid exposure. I loved the VERY comfortable bed and pillows at this Inn and the shower water pressure and quick hot water were superb. All the staff who work here are so nice, genuine and welcoming, they were certainly a very positive part of our stay and are sincerely interested in their guests comfort and good experience. The owners daughter, Katie, who works also at the Estero Sports (who we rented one of their electric boats to toodle around the harbor, worth every penny!) located on the property, was also very concerned that we were happy and having a great time. The location of this Inn was also desirable being waterfront and a little at the southern end of the tiny waterfront district of Morro Bay. Within a couple minutes walk are multiple restaurants and bakeries to choose from for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our teens liked having a little independence to walk in the mornings and get cinnamon rolls or other baked goods for breakfast. Our only regret with Estero Inn is that we didn’t stay one more night, which would’ve been perfect. We can’t wait to return here and hope to before too long, it’s just such a special Inn and such a special place to be!

I stayed 2 nights in the Sunset suite, on a last minute solo escape to the Central Coast. I've been very careful about travel during COVID and I felt very safe at Estero -- the staff wear masks, all the walkways are outdoors, there are only 8 rooms total, so you can easily keep a distance from anyone else. Also, the location of the hotel is in easy walking distance of everything in Morro Bay, so you are never far from your room if you need to take a break and remove your mask for awhile, use your restroom, etc, which these days is extra helpful.

It's also very convenient to have Estero Adventures operating out of the building, just downstairs. I rented a kayak one day and a beach bike another day, both of which were fun experiences and couldn't be more hassle-free. Plus you get a discount for being a hotel guest, a nice bonus.

Normally I am a "get out and go" kind of traveler who rarely spends time in the hotel room, but again, during COVID, I knew I would be spending more time in my room (no bars to go to at night, etc) so I purposefully splurged on the waterfront views, and it really did make the whole experience so much nicer and more relaxing. If you have the choice, definitely book the Sunset Room, as you have full front and side views facing the bay and the Rock (when it decides to come out from the mist). I thought being right on the water may be noisy, but it really wasn't bad at all. You will hear the occasional sea lion bark, and fog horns or boat go by, but I just turned the fan on when I went to bed and the white noise was enough to drown out any other noises. The fireplace is a nice, cozy touch when the temps drop at night, but don't get your hopes up too high for an actual sunset view, as the sky conditions in Morro Bay do not always cooperate with clear views of sunset! Still worth it tho, if only for the morning view while having coffee on the balcony.

Tai at the front desk and Bailey at Estero Adventures were both really friendly and helpful, which is so helpful to have when you're traveling solo. Highly recommend a stay here!

We recently stayed here and we were very impressed with the Estero Inn! We stayed in the Sunset room and it did not disappoint. It's an upstairs, corner unit, with our own private balcony and an amazing view of Morro Rock with the sunset perfectly lined up with the front window. In the front window there is a little shelf and 2 bar stools to watch the sunset from inside with a glass of wine. Outside on the balcony there are two sitting areas to choose from, one protected from the wind and the other right in front. The room was spotless and the hotel is quietly located at the south end of downtown. The staff here is awesome! Super friendly, helpful and all following current COVID-19 safety protocols. Unfortunately our trip was cut short due to a family emergency associated with the fires in the Monterey area. We had to check out early and I was prepared to lose out on paying for our last night without staying. When checking out early, the woman (I wish I knew her name) immediately said she would credit us back 1 night stay without me even asking. What an amazing gesture of kindness! Estero is a true gem and we look forward to planning another trip to finish our shorten vacation.

This boutique hotel features fabulous views of the bay and Morro Rock. Being a small property, it is quiet, relaxing, and well appointed. The rooms are beautiful, beds are comfortable, and the staff are friendly and kind. We stayed in the sunset suite, which had a deep tub/shower combo. If you have mobility issues you may want to inquire about the suitability.
The personal touches with the towel and toilet paper origami was appreciated.
We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and they were prompt to respond when I contacted them regarding options.
Due to COVID, they only offer coffee/tea/cocoa in the mornings. The rooms are well stocked with coffee making things as well. There are several eateries in the area, and staff can point you in the right direction.

You get what was the obvious draw in spades— a great view over the harbor towards Morro Rock. But the pleasures compound over the stay. The rooms are smallish but well appointed and provided with all amenities. The location proves to be a great starting point to walk to many of the waterfront attractions and bars and restaurants. And the sports rental is a great amenity. Do not forget to do something! But the best is the staff. Friendly involved and helpful. Until next time.

One note: on our cold night the fireplace is almost too effective. Turn off the mechanical hvac or they will war with each other.

Beginning with the reservation, Tai was a plethora of suggestions to visit in Morro Bay. That was a great segway into the Estero Inn. The hotel is very clean, quiet, and decorated very lovely. It is apparent that they are paying close attention to covid precautions and we felt safe here. The housekeeping staff took good care of us, making little towel animals and helping us with the ironing board! I can't forget being greeted with a complimentary bottle of champagne! Lastly, the view was perfect! (Oh, and the Estero Adventures was super great! Zach was efficient)
Can't wait to make another trip! We had the Ocean View room and we would ask for that room again! I would only suggest down pillows be available. Thank you Estero for a wonderful visit!

We spent three nights in the Kelp Forest Jr. Suite. Had a lovely view of the bay. We even had our own personal alarm clock, a young Gull who has fallen in love with his reflection in the mirrored windows! Luckily we knew ahead of time, from another guest, otherwise we might have wondered who was knocking on our window! Michelle was the best, from checking in to serving us breakfast each morning. Super friendly and gave several great recommendations. The bed was so comfortable, the sheets were the best and all linens smelled fabulous. We will definitely return to the Inn.

New ownership and freshly remodeled, The Estero Inn far exceeded our expectations. The entire facility seems brand new. The rooms were clean. The Inn is right on the water, and the views and sunsets were spectacular. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed the complimentary hot breakfast every morning overlooking the Bay and watching the sea otters floating by. Treat yourself and rent one of their electric pontoon boats to tour the bay. Just amazing. We will return to this location for sure.

This just may be my most favorite hotel I have stayed in. I have brought my family of 5 here twice and stayed both times in the Marine Room. The views are stunning! The property is immaculate, well appointed, and the attention to detail is fabulous. The price point cannot be beat for the location, experience, and services rendered. John and Leah make the place extra special with their exemplary customer service. I want to thank John and Leah for making our stay so comfortable and to the owners who clearly put a lot of care and love into this property.
