The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The room was beautiful, with special touches such as towels folded in the shape of sea shells that really added that extra special touch. The view of the ocean was fantastic, especially Morro Rock. The close proximity to restaurants, including one of the best in town literally just downstairs, is really convenient. Although maybe not something everyone would love, there is a community of seals that live in the cozy bay. Their calls can be heard around the clock (although it won't bother you in your room), and they can be seen resting on a platform in the middle of the bay. In the evening I would use the binoculars provided by the hotel to watch them splashing and playing (some even appeared to be showing off like youth often do) as the sun set on the bay and Morro Rock. I almost can"t say enough about the willingness to accommodate. We brought our dirt bikes so we could do the Oceano Dunes. They offered to let us keep the bikes secured inside at night!! I doubt any hotel will ever offer such a thing to me again. it was just like "wow!" right from the outset. I highly recommend Anderson Inn.…
Anderson Inn is just lovely. You are right on the Embarcadero and close to all shops and restaurants. They have incredible views from most rooms and the staff is extremely kind and thoughtful. Very clean and well appointed. Highly recommend.
We spent two nights in the Driftwood room (205). Everything was immaculate and even better than expected upon check in. Our view of the 3 stacks and Morro Rock was incredible! We were celebrating my husband's birthday and our wedding anniversary. As we checked in we received complementary champagne and chocolates in celebration. So special! The room was well appointed, and had everything we could possibly need. Refrigerator, microwave, Keurig, a safe for our valuables, and even a tiny lit Christmas tree. We enjoyed dinner at the Galley (reservations were made upon our request at the front desk). The food was amazing, the setting- intimate, and the view- breathtaking! We have already made our reservation for my birthday next year!
We chose the Anderson Inn thanks to the Tripadvisor reviews and weren’t disappointed. The welcome was friendly and efficient. Our room (the Captains room) overlooked the bay and not only had view to die for, but the room itself was probably one of the best rooms I have ever stayed in. No only we’re the views great, but the room was modern bright and airy, nicely decorated and had nice touches such as binoculars to see the wildlife outside. It was located centrally with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. We went to the one directly below, but there are probably better ones further afield. If we came back to Morrow Bat we would stay in the same hotel and room again !
We absolutely loved our accommodations at the Anderson Inn. The view from the balcony overlooking the Bay was the higlight of our visit. We decided to get take out for dinner so we could stay on the balcony, and watch the sea otters and sea lions. The binoculars were an added bonus! The room was large and amenities included a large tub with jets, a bar fridge and a fireplace. Our room was super clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location was perfect with stores and restaurants just out the front door. There was ample free parking. The staff at the front deskwere friendly and welcoming. Our only regret was that we stayed just for one night.
After an amazing but very long day driving down the Pacific Coast Highway, the initial greeting at reception immediately made us feel pleased with our choice of accommodation. When we entered the room, tired & just hoping for a peaceful place to rest, we were more than delighted with what we found.. Chic yet homely with great touches of simplistic luxury. Chocolates & fizz, a wonderful view of the rock from the balcony, but most importantly an incredibly comfy bed.. As has already been said by many others, this is a great place to stop over, especially if needing some R&R after a long journey…. Tip: Get a reservation for the restaurant adjoining the Anderson Inn, great food!
Our room had a private balcony overlooking the bay with a direct view of the rock. There were binoculars in the room for enjoying the marine life. The room was within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Parking was free. The staff was extra friendly. There was a keurig in the room with glass coffee mugs and wine glasses. We were even given a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolates to help us celebrate our special occasion. I think it might have been the best room we've ever had anywhere. I highly recommend.
We stayed overnight on a road trip to a wedding. Excellent location, courteous staff and free parking. The room and bathroom were quite large and very clean. The rooms are all on the second floor and have tiny balconies with a sea view. The location provides access to all the shops and restaurants within easy walking distance.
What a fabulous room. Beautiful view, balcony and superbly modern and well appointed. Coffee machine, binoculars, games, wine glasses. Only minus no breakfast so went to local bakery and sat on balcony. Bonus that you also get a discount on boat hire.
Great bay view rooms with limited staff. Make sure you get a direct bay/ rock room or don’t bother. Wonderful wildlife but be ready for loud sea lions. Only complaint is the lack of blackout curtains. The sunlight is very bright by 630 am. Easy fix and I am not sure why this is neglected. The hotel restaurant is the best seafood in town so don’t miss it.
