The Victoria Inn of Monterey, CA is truly a gem! The inn is very welcoming and beautiful! We were surprised with a bottle of wine and chocolates to celebrate our wedding anniversary! Breakfast was delicious with a variety of choices such as omelette, bagel, waffle maker, sausages, fruits, yogurt, fresh orange juice and coffee. Very easy to walk to Cannery Row, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Pier, Presidio, local breweries and restaurants. Highly recommend with beautiful rooms with fireplace! Truly a lovely place to stay!
Excellent location, we walked just minutes to get to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row shops, etc.. The Victorian theme runs throughout the hotel and works, very well appointed. Lobby and breakfast area is a nice look and vibe. The continental breakfast was pretty good, some hot food available but mostly bakery & coffee when we went in Sept 2021. Nice staff, when all the luggage carts were gone on the morning of our departure, we called the front desk, and someone immediately found one for us to use. Parking on first floor underground, luggage carts available, little patio in room, nice courtyard areas, large room with sitting area and fireplace. Refrigerator. Didn't notice if there was a microwave. It was a "Best Western" when we first booked but is no longer a BW. Hallways are "well used" but price was also not super high like the hotels just a short block away so small price to pay for much better rate. Highly recommend.…
We stayed two nights mid-week at this hotel and found it perfect for our needs. It sits two blocks up from Cannery Row and was an easy walk to the shops/restaurants and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Lighthouse Ave is the block above it, and there are several restaurants and a CVS within an easy walk. (We highly recommend Hula’s Island Grill.) It was so nice to walk around to see the sights and not have to drive or look for parking. But the street provides easy access if you do want to drive other places in town. The hotel has an underground parking garage for $17 per night, which we thought was fair considering how close it is to the attractions. The front desk manager and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room fridge had no freezer, so we asked the front desk if they could put our ice blocks in their kitchen freezer, and it was no problem. Our room was attractive and clean. The breakfast buffet offers quite an array of food in a pretty dining room that included both regular small tables and a couch and armchair area. We would stay here again.…
This is our third trip to Monterey and our third stay at the Victorian inn. The staff are wonderful, the rooms charming and the cheese and wine events lovely. It’s only a few minutes from Cannery Row too Feel the need to give a special mention to Victor. What a super helpful man. Looking forward to our next stay.
When we checked in and went into our room we noticed that the room did not have a bath and went to the front desk to request for us to have a room with a bath. It was going to be an extremely busy week for the hotel that had two different wedding parties staying that week and the person at the front desk, Lauren, went above and beyond to accommodate our request. She stated that there was a chance that we would be double charged for the room while we wait for our refund to hit our bank but she worked out how to shift things around. Her consideration for our needs and taking the time out of a busy day to help us shows much of her compassion for the guests. Everyone else was very helpful and nice during our stay as well - we'll be back again =D
Everything about our stay at the Victorian Inn was perfect! The rooms and whole hotel area was clean clean clean! Terrific breakfast! The staff was always friendly and helpful. We upgraded to the 3rd floor and well worth it. We had a lovely view of the bay. The waterfront area, shops and restaurants were all within walking distance of this location. Thank you for a great stay!
Good clean rooms. Quiet and with accommodating staff. Great Breakfast. We had a 3rd floor room at the end with a bay window. Good view of the bay over the rooftops. Lovely courtyard this time of year, Easy walk to cannery Row and Aquarium
This hotel is within walking distance of Cannery Row. When we put the hotel in Google maps, it said it was a Best Western, but thankfully it wasn't. The Victorian bought the property from them. We parked underground (there is a fee of $17, but they tell you on Expedia. The desk clerk was courteous, prompt and sweet, answering our questions. She ushered us into the breakfast area where they were having wine, cheese and crackers. When we looked for our room, we went down hall ways that looked like the old Best Western, but I was comforted opening the door and seeing the room just like the pictures with the beds, tv, window and fireplace. It was very cozy and welcoming. To my surprise, the beds were the softest I've felt for a long time and that is high praise. We slept well and were going to check out to get on the road, but the breakfast croissants caught our eye. They were delicious. They must've purchased them from a local bakery and they served them warmed up. Yum. Again the desk clerk was very nice checking us out. The process was quick. In the garage my husband noticed some window cleaner for the car windshield, which is very handy in Monterey with the ocean and threat of sprinkles now and then. We were very pleased with this hotel and would definitely stay here again when visiting Monterey.…
Very professional a d pleasant workers. Love the Victorian room with fireplace. Definetly reccomend this lovely hotel by the Bay. They even gave us a free bottle of wine for our Anniversary celebration. Many restaurants and bars in walking distance.
We stayed at the lovely Victorian Inn just a few weeks ago and it was a wonderful experience! The staff were so accommodating and welcoming…and always with a smile. The room was clean and large with a cozy fireplace. We may not have seen the ocean but just a few steps away when you walk out of the hotel is all the ocean you can want! The breakfast was excellent and beyond what we expected. Clean tables nicely distanced, hot food hot and excellent coffee!! Always there to grab a cup to take along. Great location, lovely and comfortable. We will be returning…very likely this will be out ‘go to’ place to stay when we visit gorgeous Monterey!! Thank you for a memorable and wonderful stay!! See you again.
