There is nothing like waking up in the morning with the sounds and sites of beautiful Monterey. Hotel Pacific is a fabulous boutique hotel! We loved our suite, the balcony (sunrise coffee and sunset wine) the fireplace, and the location (close to everything). Yes, some of the amenities are limited due to the pandemic but the hotel and the staff were wonderful. All precautions are being taken and you will feel safe. If we needed anything extra, they were willing to bring it to us! We can't wait to return!

Hotel's Favorite
I was in Monterey for two nights on business and wanted to stay away from the larger hotel chains so I gave this place a try. The rooms looked inviting on their website and the offseason rate considering the location was hard to believe. I checked in and immediately loved the place. I got a lot of use out of the fireplace in the room chilling out at the end of the day with a drink and my tunes going through my Bose speaker. It was quite a comfortable room and the property was set up really nice. So glad I didn't stay in a standard hotel room elsewhere. Sure, it could use a "little' bit of TLC but I overlooked the little things others may have mentioned. Overall, this was a fantastic place to stay and I wish every place I traveled to had options like this, This really was the first. My only suggestion is that they should add a microwave to the breakfast area. If I ever come back to Monterey, I'm definitely staying here again.

We reserved 2 rooms and none of them were ready by 4 pm. 2 hours prior to our arrival at 2 pm, we called the hotel to ask them if we could have both the rooms next to each other. Upon arrival at 4 pm we were told that it would take only 15 mins for our rooms to get ready but it took over 1 hour to get our 1st room at 5:15 pm. We were traveling with a 2 year old kid who was very tired after the journey. We received our second room key after 2 hours around 6:15 pm (when we went down to the lobby to check with the receptionist). This was by far the worst experience we have ever had with any hotel. We paid over $300 per room and were treated worse than what one would expect from a lodge or a student hostel. The staff weren't even apologetic for the inconvenience it caused our family. They even tried to give us rooms without a patio and we had booked for junior suites. We declined it as we pre-paid for suites. This lack of communication, significant delay in giving us our room despite us confirming with them just 2 hours prior, and ultimately attempting to give us a room inferior to what we paid for in a casual way, was very unprofessional. We were very disappointed and it significantly affected our trip. The only thing that was offered was free parking overnight, which was certainly not enough. Another issue we faced in room 229 was around 2 am when we woke up to use the bathroom. There was water all over the bathroom floor. We contacted the hotel by filling out their survey and letting the GM know about our stay but no response so far. Save your money, stay somewhere else

We stayed here while attending a wedding in the area. It didn’t appear great from the outside and we got lost trying to find our room but once we found it, we were impressed. It was a spacious, clean and perfect for us. Beds were comfortable, fireplace was nice and a bathroom equipped with both a tub/shower combo AND another shower. No AC but not needed with the option of opening up the windows and the multi speed ceiling fan. We would definitely stay again!

Quaint "older" property in a great location near downtown. Amenities are limited due to the pandemic. Unique, Spanish style architecture is what makes this property stand out, however, rooms and furnishings are well-worn and noisy. I paid for an upgraded suite. Although I was on the 3rd floor, my view was of the back alley of a residential street, directly across from the hotel dumpster. No View, and extremely noisy.
