We stayed in rm #308 (non smoke, king size with the sofa). The AC wasn’t working properly so we opened up all the windows and was luckily enough to have the nice Monterey breeze flow through the room. We stayed for two nights and when we asked for additional pillows was told they ran out. On Saturday night I received a call from the front desk asking if I was playing loud music? I told them no and that it was so quite in our room that the phone ringing startled me he then quickly apologized and we hung up. Overall, this Inn is a bit outdated and definitely needs some renovation done. We stay here because their pricing was reasonable and it was a decent stay for the most part.
For the price and area the accommodations are great. Very close to the beach, stores, and food options. As a Gold member of Best Western and Hotels.com I travel frequently. I used 16,000 BW rewards points for a free night and paid for my second night. While the rooms are a bit dated, they are large and feature a cute sitting area, microwave, and refrigerator. A safe is also provided in each guest room. Staff was very friendly checking in and out. One elevator is on site going to all floors and rear parking lot. Breakfast isn’t as fancy as others, lacking hot food choices other than waffles you can make. Oat meal, breads, and cereal with coffee and juices are provided. WiFi is a strong signal being super fast. Good selection of TV channels to watch. The only issues I would recommend since the rooms lack AC is to provide a fan since I’m use to air circulation and white noise. Pictures show some rooms having a ceiling fan but my room (302) lacked such. Also, the rear parking is a bit dark since one light was out and a camera should be added for guest security. Overall this is a very cute homey feeling hotel at a great value being less than a five minute drive to Del Monte Beach. I would definitely return in the future. There are several other Best Westerns in Monterey with different price ranges so make sure you drive to the correct location. Next door is a Denny’s diner. Across the street is a CVS store and pharmacy. Up to a few blocks down there is a Burger King, KFC, several liquor stores and 7-Eleven’s. There are also a few mom-pop sit down restaurants to try. …
The room was small and had what looked like a locked utility closet in it. The bed was like sleeping on an air mattress, very uncomfortable. The hotel is on a busy road so cars speeding by all night, and let’s not forget the planes that flew low overheard. You could also hear people moving around on the 2nd floor. Not how I wanted to spend my anniversary. We decided to cut our trip short by a day and head home early. Do yourself a favor and pick someplace else to stay.
We planned to stay for one night, but changed our mind once we go there and decided to stay another night. Our first night was in a King size bed, it was super quiet, but the water pressure was less than a gentle rain shower! We ended up needing to check out and re-check in later the second day because the King was already booked. Our second night was in 2 Queens. We were next door to a family with some young children who were running and bouncing around. It was kind of noisy until about 8:30, but after that it was fine. The water pressure for this room was great. The rooms were only about 3 doors apart, but very different experiences. Still, a great stay for the price!!
Spent 3 nights here. Breakfast was good and covenient. Room was clean, larger than expected, bed was comfortable.Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is not far from Old fishermans Wharf, Cannery Row ant The Monterey Bay Aquarium. Will definitely stay here again
