The Old Monterrey Inn is a beautiful historic mansion up on the hill and a lovely place to stay just minutes from downtown. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, the gardens looked amazing even in February, and the room was clean and elegantly cozy with a warm fireplace and the softest bed linens. Breakfast in bed was especially delightful, although enjoying breakfast with other guests in the gorgeous dining room rates pretty high too. This was our third stay, and we will be back!
Charming location, vintage home with a very friendly staff. The gardens are peaceful and lush. The morning breakfasts were excellent. The amenities in the room were below average. Small flat screen TV. The room was very cold and the floor heater they supplied repeatedly shorted the power. In all of our travels we've never slept on such a poor mattress. It was lumpy and bumpy.
As always our stay was perfect.... Wendy and staff go way out of there way to make you feel completely comfortable... it’s a perfect place to go to for a get away.. the weather was beautiful our stay was great
I had a exceptional stay at the Old Monterey Inn with my girlfriend and her mother. The Inn is located within an easy walk to historic downtown Monterey. We stayed for three days and we were centrally located to many other sites in the area that we wanted to see. The Inn was just great. It was very clean and comfortable for us. We had two rooms. rooms and enjoyed them both. Being able to stay in an historic home was a plus for us. We really enjoyed relaxing by the fire in the common area with the wine and cheese in the afternoons after a day of touring around. Wendy was a fantastic hostess with a lovely personality. We had a wonderful time at breakfast each morning enjoying the excellent fresh food and chatting with her. The whole staff was extremely friendly and accommodating to our needs. I would recommend the Old Monterey Inn to anyone traveling to the area, and I will certainly stay here again if I am nearby.…
Nice room and caring host. The property was convenient to the main attractions in this wonderful part of the world. A highlight in our case was re-visiting Pebble Beach. Such superb surroundings and worthwhile remembering that the admission fee (for the 17-mile drive) can be offset should you dine at a number of the superb hotels / restaurants in the area.
