Stayed at this campground as they always have space for cyclists in their hike/bike area. It felt weird - one person got taken off by the police during the night & homeless people seemed to be using the showers at 7am (which is kind of understandable because they're free). Camp host was very friendly.

I have been camping at VMP since 1976. My wife and I since 1998. It's in a perfect location and the price is excellent! The park ranger is really nice and does his job well. I highly recommend this location if camping is your thing and you don't want to spend BIG bucks on an expensive hotel room. A+++ double...

This was a self registration, walk in campground that cost $30/ night. Veterans Memorial was just a ten minute drive from Fishermans Wharf and Cannery Row. We loved this charming campground tucked away in the heart of a gorgeous residential area on the hills in Monterey. In the center of the park their was a play area for kids fitted...

Super location on top of the hill…… easy hike to great views from the parks edge… was here a few years back and will return in 2015 for more fun times………hiking, biking, jogging, all great fun here. The park has many sites of varing sizes to allow large 40ft + rigs to tents for your camping pleasure.

Perhaps the cheapest place to camp in Monterey. We lucked out getting one of the last 3 first come first serve spots on a Sat morning in July. Great location to base all our activities in Monterey. Hot showers and a great playground for the kids. Local area has tons to do with the aquarium and bay/harbor area. The park...

Looking for a last minute place to pitch a tent before sunset we stumbled across Veterans park online and said "Let's Go!" We paid $27 for our tent site (I think it is the same for RVs too). They had a fire pit and a picnic table and VERY WARM showers with bathroom facilities. We could not see a lot...

Spent our first three nights in an RV in this camp site. No electricity, but there was access to hot showers and waking up to have deer just outside the RV was stunning. Located about a mile out of town (uphill) it is peaceful and protected from the coastal winds. First come first serve basis, and maximum of three nights...
