I really loved my stay at this motel. Me and my brother were driving through the area and needed a room for the night. I found this motel and booked because of the good reviews. The outside looks a bit old and run down but dont let that fool you.
We got a Twin room with a fireplace and we were both really impressed by the room. I would not have expected anything like this from a room that cost about 100$ and if i'm ever in the area with my wife i will 100% book this motel.
To mention the good things Gas fireplace helped heat up the room in the cold January weather (and set mood if you are traveling with wife/girlfriend) Quiet air conditioner/heater comfortable beds close the restaurants.
Only thing that i could find negative about this place was the bathroom that was too cold.

Really enjoyed our overnight stay in Munras Inn / Monterey. Young lady in reception was very welcoming and helpful, our large ground floor room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Great shower and light breakfast was good too, would recommend without hesitation.

Everything in the room was both warm and comfortable...great shower and fireplace. Manager was very helpful. She made sure we had a quiet room with bottled water.She was available to help with coffee maker workings.

Given the modest exterior, we weren’t expecting the rooms to be so nice. All the front desk folks, night and day, were friendly and accommodating. And the price was reasonable, especially just days before New Years. The high, wooden ceiling and the timed fireplace made for a nice stay. It was close walking distance to all the wonders of downtown Monterey, including Alvarado street. We would stay here again.

Lg. room with double beds & fireplace decor. Very clean and plush looking. Large flat screen TV mounted on wall. Friendly helpful staff on front desk Easy parking and walking distance to the Wharf. Cons... no reading lamps and only one side table located between the beds. No internet streaming TV channels.

Front desk/owners were extremely rude!! The woman owner slammed the door on me, the customer service was lacking big time. Do not recommend. The gentleman at days inn close by was very nice when I explained what happened. You can’t treat Customers like that. Shame on them. Will Not stay there again.

Spacious, beautiful room with high sloped ceiling made this space feel huge...because it was. More like a suite and extremely clean! Largest window I've ever seen in a hotel, with a view of the Bay in the distance (between buildings). Quiet at night, comfortable beds and tons of pillows. One suggestion: have more drawer space or a luggage rack or two. We used the massive ottoman. No elevator was no problem (2 floors). Staff so helpful and nice, had lots of great info for our stay. Nice simple breakfast in office. Would DEFINITELY stay here on our next visit to Monterey Bay area. FABULOUS!!

The attention to detail was exceptional and very much appreciated! Folded toilet paper on the hanger to look nice and a fireplace that worked! The bed was comfy, the coffee good and easy to make. Thank you for the young lady and man at the front desk, and the elder cleaning lady who had a short conversation with me. I appreciate everything.

This place is not clean and has bugs. There is an open complaint with the County of Monterey Environmental Office. They are currently required to have a pest control company come out and have their findings sent to the County. I’d recommend staying away from this place until that is resolved. Please feel free to contact the County to confirm.

Contact the person who gave the Sept review,
Scott S wrote a review Sep 2021, and/or contact the hotel manager/owner. I had no knowledge of this incident until now. Very damaging review. Hard to believe the manager did nothing and/or took no responsibility for the incident. The staff there were very customer service oriented including the manager.
There are more places to choose from in the Monterey area.
