We had a great stay at Wave Street. Little things made a difference... comfortable beds and pillows, large bathroom with modern sliding door, a larger than normal flat screen TV... The hotel is walking distance from the Aquarium, Cannery Row, and Fisherman's Wharf. The front desk staff was helpful and kind. We would choose them if we visited Monterey again.

What a great find in this newly renovated botique hotel - I can't wait to stay there again. It's not a large place but it's beautifully decorated and the service is tops. The rooms are stylish with an authentic Monterey vibe. Our room was closer to the front desk and lobby where the check in guy gave us extra water bottles for free. Kindness goes a long way when you're on the road. The level of personal attention given guests was duly noted when I saw others checking in and out. You also can purchase 2-day passes – for the price of 1 – to the Monterey Bay Aquarium as an inclusive deal with your stay. Which we did and it's only a few blocks away and Cannery Row is the street below. What first attracted me was that we could walk to Cannery Row and get a deal for the Aquarium, a must see attraction that inhabits so much of Monterey's history and future. The new Wave Street Inn stands a dynamic three-floors high by modern design with colorful coastal cascading hues – ingratiates one to this chic inn – with views to the bay and an outdoor fire pit to relax by night – with intimacy, style and comfort. She debuted on July 7, 2017 in the heart of Cannery Row’shistoric district and – with 32 rooms – is the area’s newest property. Comfortable plush beds, sofas and chairs and flat screen TVs create an ambiance accented by combining the local maritime history and the natural surrounding beauty of the area. The free laptop safe, WIFI, charging stations and complimentary welcome gift basket with maritime resplendence makes for a great home base. You can leave your car - and not pay additional high parking fees - so much is within walking distance. The Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row – replete with great restaurants, shops and more. On my next visit - hopefully this summer - I want to rent bikes or kayak on a guided tour and view the coast from various vantage points or walk/run/bike along the Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail. I can't say enough good things about this gem of a discovery and found out that Wave Street Inn is part of five boutique properties you can choose from – Casa Munras Garden Hotel & Spa - where we stayed another night, see my review - Spindrift Inn, Monterey Bay Inn, Victorian Inn (soon to be renovated) and the Wave Street Inn. Each has its own style and I've stayed at two of them. Both were excellent in all areas a traveler needs. The Wave Street Cafe is a great combo to start your morning ventures.

Stayed at the Wave Street In for my daughters wedding. I stayed three nights. 12 of my family and friends stayed there as well. From the minute we got there the staff were wonderful. So nice and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable. The price was reasonable. Everyone in my party was very impressed. Thank you Wave Street Inn.

Really enjoyed our stay here. We did 2 nights as a spontaneous getaway. It was me, my husband, and our 6 month old. We were looking for a walkable location to go to the aquarium and restaurants as well as clean and affordable. This met all of those qualifications. I think it’s just as nice as a “brand name” chain hotel, but a better price. Our biggest complaints were the low water pressure in the shower (I have long hair and wasted a lot of water just trying to get shampoo out) and the thin walls. Luckily it was mid week so there weren’t a ton of guests, but we could hear the person above us walking around, talking, shifting in bed, etc. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t awesome. We only used our car once to drive to get takeout. Otherwise everything you need for a little getaway is right there. Check this place out and go to Wave Street Cafe for breakfast. Lovely combination!

The hotel was a nice hotel. It was clean and the staff was friendly. I loved the fire pits outside to sit around in the evening. It was not a 4 star hotel but a great place to stay because of the location. You can walk everywhere from here. You are centrally located between the Monetary Aquarium the Cannery Row and Fisherman Wharf. We were visiting our son who is at the Language Institute and it was extremely close to his base. Very Very Convenient.
