Needed a "reasonable" room price and this location offered that. All my typical locations for Monterey/Pacific Grove were extremely high due to the Women's US Open which was being contested at Pebble Beach. Typical rates in the past were suddenly 40 to 59% higher! Tired looking hotel and rooms definitely could use an upgrade. Bed was so-so and room smell a bit musty. Traveling solo as a volunteer for the golf just needed a room with proximity to the golf course and a place to crash. Would I take my wife here for a get-way...No.

This is definitely a budget hotel. It’s a little older looking but everything was clean and tidy and works.
The rooms are large but no AC (at least not in our room) but there was a sliding door that opened poolside and windows that opened in the room door so there was a good breeze. Refrigerator, TV, microwave and room safe are all basic but work well. WiFi worked well.

The breakfast wasn’t being served due to Covid but they were providing bagged breakfast consisting of fruit, OJ and cereal bars. The staff were friendly.

The hotel is right under the flight path for the airport but that’s not really a big deal as it’s a small regional airport.

Plenty of places to eat in walking distance (Check out Mundos Sandwiches!!)

For a budget stay for a couple of nights, I’d stay again.

Great place to stay Great place to stay with reasonable rates when visiting Monterey area. The morning breakfast is a bagged even, but for the price it's hard to beat. Motel is close to the heart of Monterey so pretty much everything is close buy and accessible. We've stayed at this motel a few times now, at this last visit it was very noticeable that a lot of improvements have been made.

This was a last minute trip to Monterey for my girlfriends birthday and Travelodge really took care of us! The staff were so accommodating and welcoming from the beginning and made the stay so much more comfortable. With COVID-19 being the main focus these past few months, Travelodge made us feel safe by keeping the room clean and sanitized the entire trip. The hotel was also very close to all the main attractions in Monterey, like Fishermans Wharf and Cannery Row. I definitely recommend Travelodge to anyone staying in Monterey for a fun trip.

The restroom definitely needs updating. I called front desk because my room only had a shower and after a long pause I was informed that they didn't have tub/shower combo. I really wanted a tub combo because of my toddler. I thought it was odd but left it at that. The temperature dial for the heater was so old the numbers were not legible. I wasn't sure if I was turning the heater or a/c on. The room itself was nice. The thing that really made me not want to come back were the noisy neighbors to each side and on the upper floor. It seems like a large group of families rented out a portion of the rooms. They would all gather outside on the first and upper level without masks. One of them was coughing his lungs out. They were so noisy and didn't let us sleep. It was way past midnight and you could still hear them, we weren't sure if they were laughing or fighting. Plus they were smoking in the non smoking section of the hotel. Not sure if this hotel has security but they sure need one. My sister's both had a room there as well, in a different area of the hotel. One of my sisters room was larger than mine although it had the same old bathroom. It had a lil couch with an ottoman, which was nice. My other sisters room had a shower/tub combo that they assured me they didn't have. Plus she checked it later than me. I was really disappointed seeing that the front desk was not honest with me. I would have been glad to wait for one to become available if that was the case. My brother in law and sister had to walk me and my kids back to our room because I didn't feel safe. First time I ever self unfafe in a hotel room while vacationing. My sisters and family joked that I got the ghetto part of the hotel. This was the first time going out since COVID-19. So I was pretty bummed. If you are considering this hotel please don't! I ended up booking a room at another hotel and that hotel was such a great and different experience. I even stayed two extra nights. They even had a Keurig, whoop whoop! ☕

Worst experience as hotel room was dirty, they lack staff, breakfast room is dirty and breakfast options are stale but also scarce. Overall hotel looks old and definitely needs many improvements. It’s nowhere advertised that they are low in staff, that your room won’t be cleaned except if requested and that costumer service isn’t at the top of their minds. As many other reviews have stated you get what you payed for or even worst as 1-2 star hotels can still be clean and care about their costumers. This one doesn’t. On a final note there is a sign in front desk issued by local health department about the possibility of harmful/toxic substances in the area - avoid going there with children or vulnerable people.

Clean, Bare necessities room with microwave, fridge, ironing board and iron. No extra blankets or pillows; had to request them. Bathroom was clean and serviceable. Pets are permitted with a per night pet fee. We didn't even bother with the "breakfast" bag after we heard what it consisted of/We should have gotten a discount for it.
Heated pool wasn't heated; no pool towels were available. The wall radiator wasn't working. It sparked and flamed up when we tried to turn it on so they returned two nights worth of pets fees so that was nice but the Manager Ericka could have done more.
The quality of the facilities in general were not worth the price charge for our two days and three night stay.
My husband and I were unimpressed and most likely will not be staying at this particular place on our next visit to Monterey. I will also contact the parent company Wyndham.

Very nice stay. the room was ultra clean when I got there. It is in a convenient location. The front desk staff are very friendly. And aside from being right next to an airport, the room was quiet. I mean, I did not hear any sounds from other guests from within my room. I stayed Tue/Weds/Thurs and the price per night was amazing!

The property was very expensive with few amenities. The walls were very thin and we could hear the conversations of the guests in the next room. Airport traffic was very loud. Included breakfast consisted of a snack bar from Costco, a very small apple and a container of water and orange juice. We were unhappy with our stay and tried to leave a day early and were told that we would be charged the full price if we departed. We were very unhappy with the accommodations.

Rooms have heavy perfumed cleaner, non-working A/C unit, missing patio balcony screen, hard beds, terribly small pillows. This is unacceptable given each room was over $400/night. And to make matters worse, presenting the free breakfast BAG of an apple & a granola bar is laughable at best.
