outside of storm outage that occurred , i will always return here. Centered close to the downtown Monterey sights, and very close to other prime eateries to be enjoyed. Also close by to beautiful Carmel area and wonderful golf courses to enjoy.
The room was in the worst location of the building, between 2 corridors,There was a constant bang The worst night ,,,,2 doors always slamming and from both hallways,so it was double noise., The agent at the front desk that answered my call was dismissive and blew off my concerns
Very outdated rooms and stinky air in the room and noisy location of the room close to the motorway - unfortunately not what I would have expected from a Hyatt property. Price/ values is not given in such conditions.
I travelled here for a manufacturer training. the rooms are nice, and its a short distance from Monterey airport. there are many different buildings, feels secluded with lots of trees and shrubbery to mask the fact you are near a populated area. Add do it the golf course, and the beautiful view behind the golf course, and its a winning combination. I would definitely recommend this hotel to future travelers.
We will definitely be returning. Beautiful trails, heated pools, comfortable beds, extremely nice staff that was overly accommodating. My kids enjoyed the heated pool and s’mores by the campfire. We went to the restaurant at the hotel and Gerson Hernandez gave us the best service we ever had for breakfast. He was fast, caring, and had the best recommendations for my picky kiddo.
Everyone who worked at the hotel was friendly and efficient. The convention being held there had over 700 people attending. The bartenders never lost their sense of humor and kept up with the crush of people swarming the bar. The waiters in the dining area of the convention were always helpful and attentive. In the restaurant itself, food was great and the service even better. Gerson Hernandez was especially notable. The room was comfortable and quiet and I especially appreciated that it was so close to the ballroom/convention space. Although I did not have the time to use the hammock garden, I know other attendees were thrilled with it--what an awesome addition! This was my second time staying at this hotel and it couldn't have been better.
I was traveling to be with my adult children and we booked a suite to have more room. The room was nice, clean and plenty of room but the bed was an issue. We had a king size bed that was hard and lumpy. The view was lovely and the grounds were beautiful, the gym was excellent.
I knew going up to Monterey would be very pretty, I didn't really expect the hotel to be as beautiful as it was. The grounds were well kept, well groomed and just very comfortably gorgeous to be in. The room itself was very nice, I have stayed in Hyatt Hotels before and the rooms are always pretty nice but because this hotel is slightly older it had such a nicer feel to it, very cozy. I stayed there with my two children who are both under the age of four. They loved running around in the grass, they loved the hammocks. As for the conference I was there for they were very accommodating and it felt very professional. 10 out of 10 would recommend and go again
We stayed for five nights as a work-cation. Weather was beautiful and clear when we checked in and hotel was not too busy. As a Globalist, we were given a room facing the Del Monte Golf Course. Breakfast either in the Sea Root restaurant or take out to eat in the room. The front desk staff member, Lupita, was always efficient, friendly and took time to chat with us every morning of our stay. The night around 9 pm, before our last day of the stay, the hotel and Monterey peninsula lost power due to rainy and windy weather. By the next morning, power still has not been restored. The only power in hotel was in the lobby, where we were able to charge our phones. During this chaotic morning, the front desk staff, coffee shop staff and the restaurant staff were amazing, calm, and fully accommodating. They offered complimentary coffee, pastries, and even breakfast for all guests. Every staff member we encountered were very pleasant even in this situation. Even the room cleaning staff member next door was cleaning with just a flash light and had no complaints. We did check out early as we could not work but we were very impressed with how the staff of the hotel handled the guests and the situation. We will be back due to staff members as they do set the tone of a stay. …
The hotel was renovated during the pandemic and everything is new and fresh. Staff is welcoming and professional. It has a very nice golf course view if you can get a golf view room. Location cannot be beat if you play golf.
