Great rooms, great service, great location, great food. The Clement has it all. The location on Monterey Bay affords you access to Cannery Row, world class golf, fine dining, whale watching and kayaking.. Point Lobos and Big Sur are right down the road for some of best hiking in the USA.

We have stayed at many lovely hotels around the world, and the Clement compares to the best of the best. We had an incredibly spacious suite on the fourth floor with two balconies, two bathrooms and views of the Bay (Room 459). The hotel is meticulously clean. Checkin and checkout were seamless. Every staff member was helpful, courteous and friendly. Valet parking was quick and easy. Even during busy times, our car was delivered to the front door within minutes of our request. Breakfast at the hotel's restaurant was delicious. Perfection from beginning to end.

Stayed here on a Monday night. On arrival discovered that the bar and restaurant were closed on both Monday and Tuesday nights, which I found astonishing. The staff were polite and courteous but not particularly helpful. We asked for a taxi, they tried, didn’t get an answer and handed us the taxi companies cards and told us to call ourselves. We stayed in 5 different hotels on our trip, and the stay here as easily the most disappointing, and despite it being a 4 star, it was easily outshone by every other establishment

We had a deluxe two queen and received a corner room with a balcony looking out at Cannery Row - outstanding room with high ceilings, large windows and very nice bathroom and beds. Didn’t use pool or restaurant but both looked nice (note pool is only a lap pool not really suitable for kids play; spa looked great too). Valet was awesome - car was prompt drop and pick up. This was the best room our our 10 day trip with 8 hotels one of which was a Ritz. We were very impressed. Location is very good - steps to restaurants, shops, and world-famous aquarium. Thank you!

My family and I stayed at The Clement at the end of July 2022. The stay was excellent, particularly after some less-than-stellar stays with other “premium” chains prior to my 2 nights here. We were upgraded from a fireplace room to a suite with an ocean view which was well received. Valet parking was efficient, front desk staff friendly and breakfast tasty (…and thanks to the Clement for actually having a kids menu - seemingly beneath some other brands). This was a competent and highly enjoyable stay. We look forward to returning.

We have stayed at this hotel four times - it is our go to when visiting Monterey. Unfortunately, this current trip made us reconsider returning. The good: Great location. Right in the middle of cannery row, easy walk to aquarium, lover’s point, pier, and restaurants. Nice staff. Front desk and valet are all very courteous and polite. The bad: The rooms are dated and equipment is old or not working. (Our phone was unplugged and did not work when plugged in, the other phone only had a working speakerphone). The staff is nice but poorly trained. We requested a cork screw (which for some reason was missing from the room despite offering wine bottles). It took about an hour to arrive. In the morning, we requested pillows and glasses from the front desk. The person wrote it down. By 4pm, neither was delivered. I called again, was promised a delivery, but no one came by again. It seems like while the staff is polite, they lack training in actually following through. Also, there is no room cleaning unless it is requested. This was normal in 2020, but not in 2022 (at least not in majority of hotels at this level). They should also tell you this upfront instead of waiting for you to find out the rooms aren’t serviced until the following afternoon. Overall disappointed that this once-great property has fallen in service and amenities, but not the price.…

Stayed at this hotel recently. Was astounded to discover that the hotel and bar are closed on Monday and Tuesdays (except for breakfast). Unbelievable that a 5 star hotel cannot offer refreshments to its guests on these days. The restaurant and bar closure is not mentioned in the hotel website. I would not have stayed here had I known this. Definitely not worth the room rate. Not good enough ICHG!!

Great size room with super comfy bed and good sized bathroom, the fridge had a good supply of refreshments too. Our real grumble is the fact that our room wasn’t made up and our bins in the room were not emptied either, for a two night stay and good money parted with we would have expected our rooms made up.

We have stayed at this hotel several times, and unfortunately our most recent stay will be our last. We stayed in a suite with a balcony. When we arrived to our room it smelled like marijuana. We didn't complain however. Now I learned my lesson that I should have complained. The hotel billed us over $500.00 without even telling us for smoking. That part isn't even the bad part. When we were leaving the hotel, the parking valet accused my wife of skipping out on her bill for breakfast. It was very irritating since I was the one that signed the check to our room and had already received the bill with the charge on it. The worst part was he wouldn't let it go, and made a big stink about it. So he brought someone from the restaurant who confimed it wasn't us. But wow! What a horrible way to treat a guest. Thanks for treating your customers so poorly. I won't recommend your hotel to anyone. Although the hotel called and said they would reverse the smoking charge, the customer service here is unsatisfactory. Just horrible…

While I DID not get the corner room shown on the listing, I did get the ocean view that was badly needed for my retreat from a very tough life circumstance. I also was not able to join the ING loyalty program before my arrival - I really had a hard time loggin in and adding my stay. Staff were absolutely stellar in sharing information and when I needed assistance clearing up a billing issue, they were fabulous. I would stay at this location again. BTW, right in the middle of the most populated tourist section of Cannery Row - and still a haven.
