This hard-to-find hotel has a wonderful waterfront location on the Russian River. It's old, and yes a tad shop-worn, but terrific. It has history, including being the site of some final remakes of the movie "Holiday Inn" which introduced the song "White Christmas" to the world. We hit in the off-season, which meant the inn was practically empty. The room... More

We had Studio 20, a room with view on both sides – the garden and a fantastic river view. Our room and bathroom were clean and the bed very comfortable. There was a bottle of Champagne waiting for us upon our arrival. The balcony was literally touching the beautiful tall redwoods giving us a magnificent view of the Russian River... More

The Inn is approximately 100 years old. It has wonderful potential but is very neglected. The rooms severely need updating. The restaurant has been remodeled and moved to the second story, but options for dinner were limited. The room was dark and very worn. The carpet was very dirty. It is ad that this beautiful Inn does ot get the... More

The rest of her staff (hotel and restaurant) are wonderful though! We stayed at the Village Inn for three nights as part of a larger group. Over the course of the three nights Judy lambasted members of our group for the following: 1) Removing throws from our rooms to take out on the deck during the evening when it became... More

We recently took over all eleven rooms at the rustic Village Inn (and two adjacent cottages at the nearby Monte Rio Cottages) for a small wedding in the chapel at historic Fort Ross. The Village Inn is beautifully positioned in a grove of Redwoods and there are fantastic views of the Russian River from many rooms and terraces. The Village... More

We had a garden room literally set amid beautiful tall redwoods which consequently made the room dark, but still charming. Our room and bathroom were clean and bed comfortable, although perhaps the decor/paintwork could be freshened up. Breakfast was adequate and we liked the fact that all muffins and pastries were home cooked and delicious. The service in the restaurant... More

This small older inn is located right on the river within walking distance of the Monte Rio beach. The rooms show their age, but in a charming, quirky way. They allow dogs in some rooms and it is a great location for your quiet pooch with nice gardens and a pretty lawn overlooking the river. The included breakfast is more... More

This inn is perched right over the Russian River with beautiful views up and down the river. The riverside rooms are more expensive, but you have great views from all over the property. At night you can watch the fog climb up the river from the coast and feel the temperature change as it arrives. The restaurant is excellent, but... More

We ate here. There was no clear signs for restaurant, and hostess was surprised/abrupt when we asked where the restaurant area was. After that, the experience was very pleasing. The halibut was fantastic. My son had the salmon. Excellent as well. The cheese tray, with local cheeses was also good

This charming location nestled in Monte Rio right along the Russian River figuratively forces you to unplug from the frenetic, to relax and to ro-boot. Built in 1906, forever touched by charm left over from a bygone era, you can feel the history surrounding you. Does it have all the ultra-modern amenities common to the Four Seasons', the Hyatt's and... More
