This charming location nestled in Monte Rio right along the Russian River figuratively forces you to unplug from the frenetic, to relax and to ro-boot. Built in 1906, forever touched by charm left over from a bygone era, you can feel the history surrounding you. Does it have all the ultra-modern amenities common to the Four Seasons', the Hyatt's and... More

4 weeks of travel, best food, best atmosphere, service, It's the only place, in all of my travels, where I wanted to stay forever. Definitely going back for some R&R....beautiful inside and out, love everything about it...I even outlined a book at dinner one evening...the Village Inn is inspirational, perfect place to relax and clear your head and feed your... The room was very small and did not feel clean; desperately needs a facelift. Not a lot of people staying on night we were there; felt we overpaid for the accommodation we had. Continental breakfast was muffins, a bit of cereal and juice. Funny as their restaurant is superb; really the highlight of this establishment! I would definitely recommend having... More

This is a basic hotel in a terrific location, if you like quiet, peaceful, and beautiful scenery, that is. The river location is amazing. Really enjoyed sitting on the deck with a glass of wine. Not much else going on here, but it's fairly central to a lot of activities that you can drive to without much trouble.

My husband and I came here for our anniversary. We want to get FAR out of LA to somewhere with big trees and water. Village Inn on the Russian River looked perfect. We had the most relaxing stay. For 3 nights we barely left the property. We ate our meals here and spent the day lounging on the deck looking... More

Great Meal! Room needs work--carpet replaced, bathroom floor replaced, some updating needed. Cool location! Really awesome setting in the redwoods and on the river. Food was very, very good, and staff was friendly.

All the personnel, including bartender, wait person and owner were wonderfully attentive and fun. The food was excellent and the view so fantastic that we may have overstayed our welcome but were never made aware of it.

In a small river town, you don't expect to have a meal as well prepared and refined as the city, yet that's what they serve. My wife and I went on Valentines day, and ate so well we floated out of the restaurant. The appetizers, Beet carpaccio and foie gras, were divine. The main course mushroom risotto was the best... This is a lovely inn with a very friendly and accomodating staff. If you enjoy a historic atmosphere this is great place to stay. It is a great spot from which to explore the wineries in this area and don't miss the drive further north along the high and impressive coastline. We stayed in two different rooms; the largest one... Beautiful and comfortable hotel with great balconies ( we stayed in room G) and services. Convenient restaurant on site with good food. The redwoods are warm and welcoming and the property has many beautiful places to sit and unwind. The property is impeccably clean and the flowers and gardens around the site were well cared for.
