Beautiful old hotel. No tv, coffee maker, clock or phone. There is wi do though. Like stepping back in time. I got the ghost kit and took the emf recorder down to the basement and it did go off a few times. That was cool! It did feel creepy down there. Staff very friendly. I booked through Expedia and Expedia... More

We thought this would be an interesting place to stay as we drove through California between Yosemite and Tahoe on a road trip. It's the oldest hotel in California and has a lot of gold rush history. Pros: The staff was very accommodating. I arrived late and the bartender let me take a glass of wine to my room. We... More

We did not know what to expect. The Historic Hotel Leger is charming with all its quirks. Once I got the hang of climbing out the window to the second floor balcony, I loved sitting and enjoying the nice weather. We were also able to talk with others sitting on the balcony. The pool has a combination of shade and... More

It was quaint, with old historic furniture in the room. Having a pool during 100 degree days was a big plus. Not having cable TV was a little bummer, but we watched several old movies from the VHS and DVD's provided.

We returned to Hotel Leger this year after having such a great time last year. One does need to set realistic expectations though. This is truly an historic hotel. Furniture is all antique and must be handled lovingly. Some rooms share a hallway bath. We have stayed both times in the Garamendi Suite which has an en suite bath. This... More

Where to start? First of all, when we got home we watched the episode of Hotel Impossible that was referred to in several places. I sure wish we had done that first! We don't usually watch those shows, but it explained so much, and gave us much more appreciation for the hotel and understanding of the history and importance of... More

Wonderful establishment with rooms furnished in antiques. The bar/restaurant served very good food and drinks. The staff was friendly. Didn't see ghosts though they're there. Note only some rooms have a private bath. Will surely go back.

My fiance and I had a lot of fun staying here for two nights in the beginning of June. We stayed for two nights, on a Sunday and Monday. On Sunday, we went to the Backyard Blues and BBQ event on the back of the property (free for hotel guests). We shared a delicious pulled pork BBQ plate and listened... More

A short drive from Sacramento, nestled in a beautiful area with a wealth of things to do. This historic hotel is lovely. The staff is friendly and helpful, the service is excellent. The grounds are beautiful, and don't miss the old jail in the basement. We didn't have any drinks in the bar, but, the restaurant is excellent. Both the... More

My Husband and I have been coming here for years. It started with a one night groupon thing. We fell in love and have stayed I don't know how many times since, we,ve brought family there, we,ve used the pool, hunted the nearby ( and gorgeous Gold Country) visited tons of wineries. Stuffed ourselves in the resturant, spent happy hours... More
