We booked this at the last minute and thought as we drove up it would be 'a funny story we would tell later on'. But Eve and the staff at Miranda Gardens run a tight ship. While the decor was a little 'classic', everything was clean and well tended. The staf was super friendly and we particularly though the communal firepit was a great touch.
The restaurants nearby were fantastic too!

So glad your story will have a happy ending! This resort was built in 1929 as a Motor Court which was so popular with new automobile owners. the cottages had a carport attached. our website has pictures of that era, and antique car clubs are annual visitors. The resort has been owned and operated by the same family for over 40 years and the standards of cleanliness and maintenance have been noted by our guests over the years and AAA who gave an award for excellence in housekeeping.....one of the major factors in choosing accommodations. You were very kind to share your comments and we hope you will return. Every season has its own charms.

So, this little gem gets a 5 star. It isn't perfect but then what is as perfection is in the eye of the beholder. Here is what I can tell you.
One, I would make a point to come back here. We stayed for 2 nights in cabin #10 (I think that is the total number of cabins). Upon entry you immediate are greeted with a rustic setting and you quickly note it smells clean. On close inspection you realize that it is very clean. No dust and in the bedroom we noticed even the baseboards seem to be pristine. Note, this is in the Redwoods where keeping things really clean like this requires attention to detail and hard work.
The Kitchen is small with a small 4 burner stove and smaller size refrigeration but perfect for a make meals. This cabin is really meant for 2 as the kitchen table has two chairs and there is only a single bedroom but in general we saw many family's and this is that sort of venue.
Check in was easy and the what I assumed to be the primary attendant was very friendly and they seem genuinely pleased to be helpful and friendly. They set up a properly socially distanced fire roast at the community fire pit adjacent to the pool. My wife happily roasted marshmallows. Also there are several cats in the area of various friendliness.
Price was good and the area is lovely. There is a gastro pub across the street which we didn't go to but they have a nice ice cream shop as well as a drive through coffee shop Sips which makes good coffee and chai.
The grounds even has a small play area with swings for children and table tennis which my wife and I re-established how bad we are at that. We new that but it was nice to know that after 10 years of not playing that game we still suck.
Even the small local market had good quality perishables. This is one of those charming out of the way places that is relaxed and low key. All I can say is I will be back.

And you will be most welcome! We cant promise table tennis lessons, but practice can provide pleasure. thanks for a complete and clear description of your stay. Cottage 10 is one of our most favored, and the excellent cabinetry in the kitchen was done many years ago by a skilled craftsman.. We are pleased to know we will see you again.

The cabins are nestled amongst the trees - the best of both worlds. Comforts of home while living in nature. The location provides a great place to venture out from - for a visit to a beach, explore
many smaller towns and several great hiking trails are close by. There is no AC, there are ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room and they provide a box fan to help bring in the cooler evening air through one of the many windows that provide a wonderful view of the forest behind the cabin. We booked our next trip there on our second night!

This is an older facility, probably dating from the '40s or '50s, but is very well maintained and in excellent condition. The furniture in our cabin was from the same time period. The cabin had a fairly small shower which worked well; there was just enough counter space for toiletries. Because it was older construction, there were few electrical plugs. The cabin had two bedrooms. The location was very pretty in the middle of a redwood grove, convenient, and pricing was reasonable. Miranda is a tiny town, but there was a very small store with gas pumps. Recommended for anyone visiting the redwoods.

We stayed in cottage #7 which was spacious and very nice. Cottage was very clean, however the sinks in the kitchen and bathroom need replacement due to the finishes wearing off. Bed also needs to be replaced as is being done in some other cottages. Fireplace did not work but we discovered it too late to report it. Fortunately there was no group in cottage #8 as it's outdoor dining area and BBQ is very close to cottage 7. If we were to stay again we would select cottage 6. We would avoid cottages 9 and 10 as the rears of those cottages do not face the forest. We had a nice stay and would definitely stay again when in the area.

We appreciate you sharing your experience and stay at Miranda Gardens Resort as it is helpful to us and also to future guests. Sorry you didn't get to enjoy the fireplace. They add so much pleasure to the cottage experience. Each one has a remote and our office staff would have adjusted it so it worked properly.. Both cottage 9 and 10 are standalone cottages and they have their own following. Their outlooks are to the large Redwoods throughout the property. Your thoughtful remarks are heard and we are glad you would like to come again. thanks for taking time to share your thoughts.

Stay in Cabin 14 was comfortable. Parking was right by the cabin. Found it very clean inside the cabin (sleeping area, kitchen, bathroom, and cabinets). Comfortable King bed. Sofa seating is clean, but sofa bed mattress (just like any other sofa bed) is somewhat uncomfortable to sleep on. No A/C so will have to open the windows for cool air from outside (can be warm during the summer day, but cool at night). Had kitchen supplies for four in the cabin. This is a quiet area, but has accommodations like a basketball court, cabin BBQ grill, patio seating. Basic TV channels (but signal is not that great), weak Wi-Fi - not a deal breaker if if you are here in the area to relax and unplug. We enjoyed our stay here and recommend this if you are staying to see the redwoods.

cabin 14 is one of the favorites for returning guests because of the split bath and vanity allowing more flexibility for our guests. Out look to large trees is restful and your outside area is private. thanks for staying and happy your enjoyed your stay.

Two couples rented Cottage 12 2 nights the weekend prior to July 4th. Checked in early evening, which was pleasant and prompt. Very friendly and offered information for dinner options. The ‘cottage’ was on the backside of another set of rooms, but this didn’t disturb our stay. The rooms and bath were clean with the basics. The grounds were well shaded by tall redwoods, very well kept and included an ice machine, pool, fire pit area, playground, basketball court and ping pong table! We especially enjoyed the porch running the entire length of our rooms. Staff, guests and locals were friendly and easily struck up a conversation with us. We’ll definitely return when visiting again!
With limited breakfast options at the drive-through coffee place, we suggest adding breakfast as an option for guests.

thank you for enjoying cottage 12! it is so flexible for guests since that front cottage can be added to twin one you chose and is great for families as it has a kitchen. your suggestion for breakfast is timely, for years a breakfast was served during May - Oct until Covid halted so much for all of us. we look forward to being able to do this again. and see you next time!

The 2 bedroom unit was decorated with pics from the past years at Miranda gardens. The furniture very nice. Local television channels. Clean pool and a nice camp fire to enjoy each night. Each unit also has its own covered back deck with bbq. Tables and chairs front and rear. Gas stove and plenty of pots pans etc. for preparing meals. We even had deer at our back porch each morning.there was also plenty of hot water. Two different places to eat right across the street that served up great food. An ice cream shop and coffee shop as well. Plus a small grocery store with fuel pumps. This place was really a great place to stay. We were there for 3 nights. From there you can go out for the day and visit lots of redwood groves without traveling much and return for dinner a shower a swim and dinner. We will be going back as soon as we can. Although the cabins don’t have air conditioning, the windows all have screens and open easily to let the forest air in. Which made for a very pleasant temp to sleep.

You should write our promo ads! Thanks for such a complete review of our resort and your stay. We know our guests enjoy seeing the deer, but we wish they would eat at home and not nibble at our flowers! The resort has been family owned for the past 40+ yrs and we try and improve all the time. The ceiling fans do a lot to keep the cottages comfortable. This was a motor court built in the late '20s and was transformed into 16 cottages that offer privacy and beauty in a grove of Redwood trees. We hope you will come again and thank you.

Perfect place to take a breather. The cottage was very clean. I didn’t even see any dust, even behind the beds and sofas were very clean. Bathroom is spotless.
We enjoyed the trail behind the property.
The employees were all nice and I liked the idea of taking temperature for all the guests that are checking in. Restaurant and ice cream across the street was perfect. We’ll come back and stay longer.

Thank you. Having a guest say they will return is so encouraging. Your comments about the cleanliness of the cottage is a constant goal and we have excellent housekeepers who will be so pleased to read your review. AAA gave us a certificate of excellence for housekeeping . That is probably the main factor in whether a guest returns....the gorgeous grove of Redwoods surrounding the cottages adds huge advantage as well. Thanks for your comments.

The location was perfect, not to far off of Hwy 101. Had a great restaurant across the street with outdoor dining, fabulous oysters as an appetizer, a variety of micro beers, great choices for entries and real homemade chocolate cake and cheesecake for dessert! The proprietor was very hospitable and we had no problem checking in at 7pm. The only down side comfort of the beds. Needed new mattresses.

If you are asking if you may leave luggage with the office on day of arrival or departure, we can usually accommodate you if we know ahead of time or when you check in.
Sometimes our guests arrive before check in time and they would like to go explore or hike or perhaps get something to eat and want to not have luggage in the car. we can put it in the lobby area where it will be safe.
Hope this answers your question.
At this time, we do not have laundry services available for guest use, but in the future there are plans to have a washer and dryer for guest use.
Our summer season is in high gear and the first 7 day spot as of today is the week of August 14-20.
We have some shorter openings like two or three days, but as of now we would have to go past August. Can you give us an idea of your time frame for travel here?
Thanks. Our office is staffed everyday from 7:30 am- 10:00pm.
Hope this is helpful.
