My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this little motel at the tip of the Avenue of the Giants. Old fashioned furniture, redwood paneling, big old redwood trees all around, comfortable bed- everything one needs. Also, right down the road, there's a walk into Stephen's Grove among the redwoods that lasts maybe a 30 or 40 minute walk.

Never have we stayed in a more awe-inspiring location. Both the front and rear porches of our cabin (number 5) were nestled against several of the great trees. The cabin, though "old" was fresh and welcoming, with perfectly fine furniture, new carpeting, and a completely equipped modern kitchen. The separate bedroom was roomy, the bed very comfortable. Gas-fired fireplace. Wide screen TV (which we had no need for, considering the location in the forest!). A minor maintenance issue was handled immediately. No stairs at all (optional stairs to one side) with 100-percent flat entry from the parking area, right outside the front door. Location is superb: directly across the street are several places to eat, and a full-scale supermarket. A terrific home base for exploring the redwood groves or just chilling-out.

What a beautifully written description of cottage 5. It is very popular and you are correct in feeling that you are "in the trees". Being "old" has its advantages: The paneling on the walls is first growth redwood and we can only guess how old it is. The present owner reclaimed it from the original building, hand sanded and refinished it and its beauty will outlast us all. You probably know that Miranda Gardens Resort was 1929 Motor Court and was renovated over the past 42 years by same person that redid the paneling. Thanks for noticing! We would hope you can came back and spend time with us. Each season here has its own special charm.

Quaint place among the Redwood trees. The electric fireplace was wonderful on a rainy day. Room I choose was small but had everything we needed. Wish the weather had been nice, would have liked to enjoy the outside patio. Was covered but too chilly for me, my husband enjoyed it.

Glad you came and enjoyed your stay. It is always advisable to have a jacket as we can go from very warm days to pretty cool nights. Thanks for taking time to review.

These are cozy, clean individual cottages very close to Humboldt Redwood State Park. They provided a decent continential breakfast with several good eating places right across the street. It was off season so it was quiet but I'm sure its hopping during the summer months. I'd definitely stay there again.

Hi Betty, Your comments are just the thing that prospective guests like to know and our staff is always appreciative of a job well done. Seasons here are different and wonderful in their own way. Fall is quieter with warm days, cool nights and fireplaces are welcome. Winter usually brings rain which makes our Redwoods plump with vitality and when it rainsponder you hear a hush as it passes through the branches. Spring shows the first of the many flowering azaleas and rhododendrons that flourish with the Redwoods and Summer as you said is very active with travelers from all over the world coming and usually wishing they had booked more time to see the many attractions this area has to offer and to ponder the majesty of the Redwood Giants. Hope to see you on your next trip.
