We came expecting a clean room but found anything but. There were crumbs left on tables as well as sticky residue. In addition there is no hot water on the bathroom sink. Very poor experience. I do not recommend this hotel.

I am not a room guest but instead am an attendee of a seminar hosted at Sheraton San Jose Hotel Ball Room. After the seminar, I accidentally left my computer bag (with laptop) in the Ball Room. When I returned to the hotel and reported my loss, the Ball Room restaurant manager Christian Perez and Front Desk Supervisor Debbie assisted me to locate the lost computer bag (with laptop). Especially appreciate Christian's help to walk me through many places and eventually we found it. I am very happy with Sheraton San Jose Hotel's courtesy and assistance on this matter and don't hesitate to write this review to show my appreciation!!

This hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff here was able to come through for a large group of us when we had to leave another hotel due to renovations. In a short period of time they were able to get 14 rooms ready for us on a long weekend. The service in the 3 days we were there was exceptional. The rooms are super clean and well furnished. Very cozy beds!

I booked a room through my Marriott Ambassador rep who requested for a suite upgrade and was approved for Dec 25-27. Once I checked in, the lady at the front desk gave me a room one floor below the concierge lounge. It only had a king bed. I booked the room with 2 beds. So she decided to put me on the 3rd floor (302) even though my request on my profile was for a room on the high floor. Note that this was on Christmas Day and there we only six cars in the entire parking lot including mine. The front desk lady gave me 2 vouchers for each day and it stated buffet breakfast. I told her that I booked the room with 4 people on the reservation. Also when I went for the buffet breakfast, they told me that the restaurant was closed as they stated that there were not enough guests to keep the restaurant open for the holidays. My family of four did not have breakfast on both days. Also the concierge lounge was closed and there was no breakfast there. I am going to contact Arne Sorenson and let him know.

The overall rating I gave should not necessarily deter you from staying here. The hotel was adequate in pretty much every way, but as a business traveler, I weigh certain amenities differently than if I was rating for a personal stay. I chose this hotel because it was moderately priced and relatively close (15 minute drive) to the office in Sunnyvale. As it turns out, the traffic from this location is really bad. It actually took me about 5-10 minutes less time than when I have stayed in Fremont which is much cheaper generally. Just across the road to this hotel is a giant sign for a local shopping mall giving the impression that you might have several restaurant options. It is not the case. It requires a car to get anywhere to eat from this hotel unless you want to use the restaurant in the hotel itself. The good: -Fitness center -Gorgeous outdoor pool area -Friendly staff -Standard sized rooms plenty big enough for business travelers -Respectable desk and chair for working -Nice lobby, very comfortable for waiting on your ride -Two real (not on the lamp) outlets and USB ports on one side of the bed. The bad: -This hotel is visibly out-dated. I had to hunt around to turn on the lamps only to realize that they used the old toggle switch on the cord that I haven't seen in years -There is no refrigerator -The concierge lounge is extremely limited and alternates for breakfast with oatmeal or scrambled eggs (on one day another guest actually asked me what "that was" referring to the eggs - they aren't great -The fitness room is adequate, but it's not quite big enough for business travelers. The room gets very crowded early on weekdays and weeknights. With only 3 ellipticals and 3 treadmills that are fully occupied it was especially frustrating that one of each of those machines was not functioning. If you don't exercise, then none of this matters to you. -I only checked the floor I was on (and the lobby), but on the 9th floor, there is a low ceiling when you exit the elevator. I'm pretty tall (6'7") and if I'm not paying attention, I'll hit my head on it. -The remote control in my room was not responsive to channel changes making it difficult to really channel surf. -Not a huge deal, but this hotel uses old clocks and mine was still on Daylight Saving Time. I use my phone to wake me up anyway, but there were a few panicked moments when I would glance at the clock and think I was an hour late. -The shower gets plenty hot but the sink does not, so I had to shave in the shower.
