Several weeks ago, my wife and I began our journey home to our tranquil, mountain valley Retreat in the Philippines. Truth is we had stayed too long in what has become of my beloved America. The stress-driven rage, the self absorption of how all around us seemed to find themselves in chasing an American Dream that I had In the last century known but seemingly had become only a nightmare ... had been too much for the gentle, Pacific Island Soul who is my wife. Though I had planned the journey to be most comfortable and peaceful by traveling First Class .. I had screwed up by not being aware of a brand new law that required me to have a visa. So, in the middle of the night, we found ourself barred from boarding and sitting surrounded by our bags in an eerily empty International Terminal in San Francisco. Somehow, a good angel guided me to find La Quinta Inn online and nearby. Over the 11 days, including Labor Day Holiday, with the pandemic disallowing any in person or on the phone contact with the Consulate, we somehow pulled it off and got my visa in 2 days not the foretold 2 weeks. All during that high tension scene, the staff of the La Quinta made us feel safe, cared for and welcome. To top it off, by the end my wife was so distraught she was too weak to walk and that filled us with real fear. Yet, the La Quinta desk clerk said, “we have a wheelchair you can use to get her to the plane.” A God Send, As promised, I found and paid a taxi to return it, all the while so full of gratitude for this generous hearted Innkeeper. It’s a tough world and Seemingly getting tougher. To purely by happenstance find a strange hotel and strange People who acted as much as family as I could ever imagine, just has to be seen as a true miracle, selfless caring acts, that we will always recall as a Blessing.

Room was very clean and beds were comfortable. Shower had great water pressure. Wifi worked great and Check in and out process was fast and easy. Location was great with several food options and also close to downtown area with shops to stroll. Staff was very friendly and the hotel grounds were clean and safe. Breakfast was not available due to Covid but they did offer grab and go breakfast bags with many items and a juice.

Convenient to SFO, this third floor streetside room was surprisingly quiet. Bed was so comfortable I finally got a great night sleep. It is probably the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept on. Ensuite area was perfect for watching TV and doing paperwork... which I brought from home so I could spread out; it really helped. The bathtub was a great way to relax before checking out. It is six months into the days of covid, so feeling comforted and clean means Everything. The staff does a great job. It was a great stay for a short getaway and I know I shall return.

I reserved this hotel because it's near the airport and advertises that it has an airport shuttle. However, when I arrived at the airport and called the hotel, they told me it hasn't been running for months, because of COVID. However, neither the website nor the reservation confirmation alerted me that the shuttle is not running. I spent $40 on taxis. When I asked to speak to the manager about it, I was told that the website does indicate no shuttle and the manager was not available to speak with me until Monday (I arrived on a Friday evening).

I would like to thank you for taking the time to complete a survey at for our hotel as well as post a review of your stay. I am truly sorry for the fact that the local COVID 19 restrictions impacted the satisfaction of your stay. While we were able to provide you with a room on the top floor as you requested, I can certainly understand the fact that you were unhappy with the fact that airport shuttles for the hotels in the area are not operating. La Quinta Hotels has been sure to add something at the top of our page that states "COVID-19 UPDATES: See our flexible policies and safety protocols. Plus, check local travel restrictions". When clicking this notice, it states "..certain services and amenities may be unavailable. Additionally, local travel restrictions may impact your trip.." It also states "Be sure to check the specific restrictions for your destination before traveling or contact the hotel directly with questions." With the State of California as well as the County of San Mateo have changed COVID 19 restrictions on a pretty regular basis, the COVID 19 Updates was added to our web page several months ago. In the past, complimentary airport shuttles have been a popular amenity for our hotel as well as the other hotels in the area. We are all looking forward to this global pandemic to come to an end so that the restrictions that have been placed are lifted and that we can once again provide this amenity to our guests. The County of San Mateo has informed us that we have had to remove many items from our rooms. These items include pens, pads of paper, coffee makers, etc. These items have been seen as potential points of contact for our guests. In an effort to stop the spread of COVID 19, we have had to remove all of these items. Being that we know that coffee is popular with our guests, we do have coffee available 24 hours a day at our Front Desk. I am sorry if it was an inconvenience for you to have to ask for your coffee. Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham San Francisco Airport West. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. Your feedback is very important to us. I am sorry that the local restrictions were an inconvenience for you. Please rest assured that I will look in to this matter and see if there are other actions that can be taken so that our guests are more clearly aware of these restrictions when they are booking their reservations. Room is decent, but customer service is outstanding. Clark was super helpful kind and hospitable. Housekeeping staff was also really great. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was they tried to do every other day housekeeping which isn’t recommended right now for safety of Staff and guests.
