Stayed two nights with my fiance. We ended up getting there later than expected, but after informing the owners, they were very understanding and even gave us suggestions on where we could eat in the surrounding towns. The linens were the most comfortable sheets I've ever felt! Though they are right off the main road, ear plugs were provided in... More

Family owned bed and breakfast. Great value! Owners are extremely accommodating with anything you need at the lodge or with helping you plan your day activities. Super clean for an older property. Rooms are small, but quaint and nothing is broken or 'weird'. Shared bathrooms but don't let that turn you off!! You won't mind it at all. There are... More

Very cozy lodge right on the road between Chester and Lassen National Park. Cozy and clean rooms with excellent bedding and towels. This doesn't scream fancy bed and breakfast but it's quite pleasant, has nice trappings, and has a great breakfast included.

We were looking for a spot to stay close to Lassen NP. We located The St. Bernard Lodge on Google Maps and hoped for the best. I doubt we could have done better. The lodge is a historic building that's perfectly maintained--none of those DIY fixes out of Home Depot. The rooms are upstairs above a restaurant and bar. They... More

Drove around in Chester and near Mill Creek trying to find somewhere to stay and somehow ended up at St Bernard Lodge. What luck. I think there's 7 bedrooms in the lodge, all are beautiful, none ensuite so be prepared for sharing 2 nice home from home bathrooms with other guests. Sharon and Jim are beyond fabulous as hosts. Sharon... More

Visited Mt. Lassen and the St. Bernard Lodge in October - another overdue review - and can not recommend highly enough. First, as someone who is extremely tired of B&B/Inns in older building wherein the owners have felt compelled to sterilize the historic patina and/or drop the (default decorative setting) chinz bomb in every room - The St. Bernard Inn,... This review is way overdue. We stayed there two years ago, arriving late in the evening without arranging for their dinner meal. It turns out that no restaurants are nearby, and they opened their bar for us and they opened their kitchen, cooking things like chicken fingers, onion rings, and sandwiches for us and our young children. It was really... More

...that just gives you the warm and fuzzies. We've been making an annual trip to the St. Bernard Lodge now for 5 years. The first year was an accidental find (almost stayed at a motel in Chester, eek!). Now, we take the lodge over each year with a great pack of pals and do it up right. Jim and Sharon... More

This is the second consecutive year our group of ~20 young adults has stayed at the St. Bernard for a group snowshoeing trip. We rent out all of the rooms at that time, and it is close to an ideal setup for our needs (in addition to being very reasonably priced!). Sharon and Jim are extremely helpful, attentive, and friendly... More

Due to stay here for just 3-nights but enjoyed it so much I extended it to 4-nights. Hosts are lovely people and go out of their way to help. The place is nice and quiet and has a pool table you can play on as well as a hot tub. Internet speed is pretty good. Breakfast and dinner can be... More
