In a region renowned for razor-sharp venture capital firms and a generous dose of Stanford-style intellectual innovation, the Menlo Park Inn carves a decidedly unique niche - a sleek, utterly stylish inn that makes all-star service its top priority. Sure, our guests love our easy, under-two-mile access to Palo Alto, but what really makes them smile? We think it's the sweet smell of fresh-baked cookies. It's an Xperience you'll never forget.

No need to repeat what others say in their positive reviews. I concur!! Clean, well-located, quiet rooms in the back, ample/safe parking, walking distance to downtown Menlo Park and train station to SF. We are local residents who needed to vacate our home for a few days for a construction project, and the Menlo Park Inn was exactly what we were looking for. The hotel proactively reached out to us to clarify details about a specific request, and they were able to assign us a very quiet room. The GM is very hands-on and was on duty when we checked in. He clearly takes a lot of pride in this property and wants guests to be satisfied. They have started their breakfast service again. For those who need a literal 5-Star property, there are plenty to choose from in the area, and they are priced accordingly. The Menlo Park Inn is well-priced alternative for those who need reliable accommodations. (and I've stayed in those more local expensive hotels in the past and been disappointed for the price paid) The Menlo Park Inn is a 5-star value!

Family of four stayed at Menlo Park Inn for several nights. The hotel was clean and we had enough space in the room. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location is great - close to restaurants (walking distance) and the surrounding area felt safe.

Let me start by stating I have previously stayed at this property and was aware of the plusses and minuses when I booked it for this trip. First, you simply cannot beat the rate for this location. It is ideally situated for easy travel to many nearby locations. There are very good restaurants within a five minutes’ walk and many other places to visit within a five to ten minutes’ drive. The rooms are relatively spacious, depending upon which one you book, and very comfortable. There is plenty of lighting, the wall unit HVAC works well and doesn’t make an obscene amount of noise but isn’t as quiet as central AC would be. The bed was comfortable and the television was good with plenty of channels from which to choose (important on long stays or stays with kids). The bathrooms are nice with good lighting and excellent water pressure. Wireless worked well. I was in a corner room and it was as quiet as it could be. On the flipside, there will always be more noise when you have a motel style setting without interior hallways. It wasn’t ever a nuisance during my stay but just know you will hear more as a result. The room I was in really could use an update. The couch was old and slightly stained. The carpet, paint, wallpaper, bathroom tiles and fixtures are clearly from another century. It’s not bad, just worn down. It didn’t detract from my stay as, again, I had been here before and knew what I was getting. Not having a breakfast was irrelevant to me as I never eat one anyway. Parking so close to your room is always more convenient. I see that many folks rate this a four or a five. I am not comfortable doing that because this property, though really good for what it is, cannot attain that rating as the condition of the rooms don’t warrant it. BUT, I would absolutely stay here again because I do not need a four or five star rated property when I make a trip to Menlo Park. I need a well-priced, well located, nice motel and this fits that need.

This is a clean, well-located hotel, within walking distance (in a safe neighborhood) to several great restaurants as well as the newly refurbished Guild Theatre. Although there is no longer a continental breakfast offered, there is a great coffee machine in the lobby offering every type of specialty coffee drink you could want, as well as lemon water. The staff was friendly and the room was spacious, especially the beautiful bathroom. We did have issues (twice) with our keys not working, but the office staff fixed them each time, including once at midnight.

Needed a place in Menlo Park at the last minute, and this appeared much better value than most local hotels. It appears to have been recently refurbished, and is well maintained, very clean, with spacious rooms. Very helpful staff dealt with booking questions. Provides a great location from which to walk into town, with nearby restaurants and shops. Very happy with this choice.

I understand that customers staying for only one night will likely not come up with the same rating, because they will not have had to concern themselves with extended stay peculiarities. We have had exceptional extended stays at this property over the years and as recently as three years ago (pre-p0andemic) and rated the property 4 or 5 stars. The post-pandemic procedures that have been put in place have resulted in the decrease in rating. Yes, we were warned that health and safety concerns had resulted in "changes in operating procedures." I can't rate this location as a five or even a four though, when there is no breakfast and we had to assume housekeeping duties. That would be unfair to properties who have those amenities. In the "Old Days (pre-pandemic)," there was a nice breakfast bar. Fast forward to today and the breakfast bar is gone, as has happened in many, but not all, lodging properties. Tea and coffee only in the main lobby. For the Tazo aficionado, the tea selection is very good. McDonald's is only two blocks away if you need a light breakfast. Stack's is just a little further down the street for a heartier breakfast. There are a microwave and small refrigerator in the room for those who don't mind doing their own meals. Grocery stores are within a few blocks. On the plus side, the room was spacious and clean when we arrived. However, in the "Old Days," we got daily changing of towels and linens. Fast forward to today, and there is one change of linen (I was told upon check-in) after five days if you have an extended stay. We stayed a week. Had to ask for the linen change at five days. Not sure if they were replaced or if the bed was merely made up. Towels were never replaced. This was not so much of a bother because that is the schedule we use at home. Truck your own trash. That's ok, we do that at home, too. Except that the trash barrels always seemed to be full to overflowing whenever I looked out in the morning. So I left the bags outside my door and they always seemed to disappear. Limited staffing was an issue one day. I went to the lobby and found the door locked. No one inside and the room was dark. I discovered later that the desk clerk was helping a customer in their room. That's fine, but a note on the door would have been nice: "Will return in 15 minutes" or something like that, rather than having me standing there ringing the doorbell with no response. All that being said, I can't take issue with the price and general quality of the lodging. Much less expensive than in the "Old Days" during our Christmas holiday stay. And I'll still stay there in the future knowing in advance what I will face while there.

Dear WYbirdwatcher, Thank you for being a returning guest of ours and for taking the time to share your detailed feedback about your most recent stay with us. I fully sympathize with your "old days" thoughts. As part of an industry that was heavily affected by the pandemic, we had to adjust our operations to remain open and offer a safe and hospitable environment to our guests and staff. With that said, we are working hard to bring back some of those services you mentioned as we recognize the need and joint urgency to return to normal as soon as possible. I sincerely appreciate your comments and hope to welcome you again as we slowly resume some of the services we suspended since the onset of the pandemic. Thank you. Looking forward to your next visit to Menlo Park Inn Sincerely, Ricardo Berrospi General Manager Menlo Park Inn (650) 326 7530

Great place. Room was clean and had everything I needed including fast internet. Chinese food restaurant across the street was fantastic for dinner as well as "Stacks" down the street for breakfast. Both within easy walking distance. I came to Menlo Park for a medical appointment and it could not have been more convenient.

Clean, nicely updated & very well-managed motel in a great location - easy walk to downtown MP and Santa Cruz Ave, many shops & eateries nearby. My room was just as pictured/advertised, well furnished/equipped for business (work desk, convenient ports), and came with a mini fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, and nice armchair with ottoman. I stayed 4 nights and was glad to have this comfortable, affordable, well-located lodging in pricey Silicon Valley. Ricardo the manager & other staff are service-minded & helpful, and Ricardo kindly took care of a 5th night cancellation that I wasn't able to do through hotels.com. MP Inn offers a professional welcome at a friendly price.
