The rooms are compact-not a lot of room to around and the shower is very compact. That said, this hotel had extremely friendly front desk and breakfast staff. There is a shuttle bus from campus that runs every 30 minutes that was very convenient to campus and the hospital (does not run on weekends) but then the hotel shuttle did on demand. The breakfast starts at 6:30, but the coffee/hot drink machine is always available (Loved that and the choices for tea, french vanilla, latte, etc). There is a Starbucks in the parking lot, open weekdays only. No restaurant, but door dash does deliver. WiFi. Accessible. Would stay there again. Very quiet.
This hotel is located conveniently on the University campus and has a bus that comes every 15 minutes to take the gusts to the hospital and other areas. They provide a decent breakfast, are very helpful. The rooms are very small but sufficient for 2 people. It is not walking distance but that is not an issue because the Stanford bus comes by so frequently. It is mostly for patients and their families who come from far away areas to be treated at Stanford or for consultation, Breakfast is included and is quite good. There is a very nice sitting area with a garden like setting on the lower floor The prices are reasonable. I highly recommend making arrangements months ahead of time. I have used it.
On a recent trip to the medical center with a friend undergoing serious treatment, we arrived in town only to discover that at the last minute our reservations at another hotel had fallen through. We were staring at extremely overpriced accommodations somewhere else in the area when Stanford Guest House came through. The staff couldn’t have been more kind and positive, putting our overly stressed friend at ease. The straight forward, clean and quiet room overlooking an oak covered hillside was balm for the nerves. The medical center was minutes away. In an area of over-inflated room pricing due to locale and construction worker markups, the Guest House was a godsend of reasonable rates. Thank you for making our stay a respite of calmness for our friend.
This is my second stay here. The room is small, but I'm traveling on my own and it fits my needs. I like the breakfast buffet and I have a refrigerator in my room for stashing a few cans of diet soda; not sure if all of the rooms have this but was happy to find it here. My son is at Stanford so I like running into so many people that have some kind of connection to the university. People are friendly including the the staff. Room is kept clean and the bed is comfortable. Very nice TV, better than what I have at home. I did rent a car, and with that it is very short ride to the campus. There is a Safeway down the street and I discovered a cozy and friendly Mexican Restaurant next to that - El Cerrito - which enjoyed so much I took my son and two of his friends there last night. I did hear a little noise through the walls occasionally so it might bother a light sleeper in the morning, but for me it was not a problem. The Stanford Guest Hour is not fancy, but I feel very comfortable here and will stay here again. I really like it here!…
Great place to stay if you are working at the university or the hospital. However, the lay out of the university is that unless you are working at the SLAC or the hospital, you will have to drive to get to where you need to be. There is a bus and also free shuttle if you don’t have to go far. Nonetheless, the hotel itself has everything needed, and staff are friendly and helpful.
