This place is very well-maintained and comfortable, so I've given it 4 stars, but after more than 20 years of enjoying this inn my husband and I have decided we are unlikely to return because of the recent changes. We have always loved the vegetarian breakfasts, but strictly vegan is, for us, a bridge too far. We appreciate the owners'...

My husband's an omnivore. I follow a vegan diet (to address health issues). We both enjoyed the Stanford Inn/Ravens Restaurant delicious food available at breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner. (A full cooked-to-order breakfast is provided for guests. Guests also receive a complimentary dessert at afternoon tea.) My husband was amazed at the great texture/mouth-feel of the dishes - particularly the...

My husband and I stayed at Stanford Inn by the Sea for five nights as part of our honeymoon, and we are so glad we decided to visit because the Inn was absolutely perfect for such a trip. We were in a Big River Petite Queen room, which was the perfect size for two - not too big but not...

Beautiful setting along the Mendocino coast. The organic gardens are amazing, and the food was outstanding. Afternoon tea was a real treat. The lobby is warm with two fireplaces and pet friendly. Staff are excellent.

Our honeymoon at Stanford Inn could not have been more ideal. The draw for us was the vegan cuisine, which much more than exceeded our expectations, but aside from that, we were thoroughly impressed by the exemplary warmth and kindness of the staff, the above-average customer service, and the obvious care and attention to detail invested in every aspect of...

I must preface this review by saying that I have dreamed of staying at the Stanford Inn for probably about 8 years. I first started hearing about it in the vegan community and it quickly was added to my bucket list of places to stay. So when we finally booked an overnight stay this year, I was a bit uncertain...

So, it started out that the fireplace glass wouldn't open, the queen sofa bed decided it wasn't going to budge and the knob to open the closet came off in my hand. No problem, they upgraded us to a suite with a better view. New room didn't have a freezer compartment in the mini-fridge and I had all my dog's...

We came here for four days as a birthday getaway to celebrate my husband's birthday. Once we arrived after a somewhat harrowing but beautiful drive up route 128, with its numerous hairpin turns, we are thoroughly enjoying ourselves. The biggest draw for us to come here was the healthy plant-based food, which has been incredible. Since we're here for four...

I think its the most beautiful hotel i have ever stayed in... the rooms are very cozy, the food is cooked with their own market garden (so natural)... the environment is quiet, peaceful... the views are awesome... and the pool / spa is also very relaxing... its expensive but its worth the experience.

Our friends all agreed it was the worst breakfast we have ever had anywhere in the world we have traveled. The rooms are old and very expensive for what you get. You do get sort of an ocean view that is 1/2 mile away!!!
